On one hand, I understand that the vast majority of the homeless are dealing with a mental health crisis or battling the clutches of addiction or some combination of both and who am I to judge as it very well could’ve been me in that situation if certain things had happened differently in my life. I’ve never been big on the “pull yourself up by your boot straps” approach, as I feel it lacks a great deal of compassion, understanding, and nuance. They’re human beings and I believe they deserve dignity.
On the other hand, it’s become perfectly acceptable to be beyond high or having a mental collapse in front of peoples homes & businesses, shooting up in broad daylight in parks meant for children, urinating and defecting wherever, screaming and yelling on public transportation, taking over public spaces with tents, etc, etc, etc. So on this note, a part of me feels that the coddling has gone much to far and created a situation where everyone else who’s law-abiding is supposed to just come to terms with the fact that a certain group of people is allowed to just run amuck.
So I guess what I’m asking is what would you like to see Denver do to address this issue? Is it an issue or non-issue to you?

Background: Right before the pandemic started I switched jobs, which resulted in my income doubling. Then the world shut down and I used the time and reduced expenses to pay off my credit cards and student loan. I haven't carried a monthly credit card balance in 3 years. This is more just a rant post because I wouldn’t even know what advice to ask for here. I’m just angry and upset. To try and keep a long story short, my ex girlfriend cheated on me with a man. I don’t know if she has physically cheated on me with anyone else, I only know of her having emotional/sexual online affairs.
Immediately after she had sex with that man, she came home and slept with and kissed me. I didn’t even really know what had happened. When I found out, I told her I needed her to go and get tested and I went and also got tested. We only got bloodwork done, as I thought at the time that was the way to get tested for EVERYTHING. We both came back clean, thankfully.
Fast forward to recently when I had a doctors appointment. My doctor asked me in the middle of my appointment if I ever had the HPV vaccine because he couldn’t find it in any of his records. I told him I’m 99% positive that I did, but I got it so long ago that I can’t be sure. He gave me a certain number to call to find out so I’m just waiting on a response from them.
Him asking me about the vaccine got me curious about HPV though, so I started doing some research on it and was horrified when I realize that you have to get tested for it through a swab, something my ex and I both did not do. I also read that you can have zero symptoms and sometimes it might not even show up on a test. I panicked and today I asked my ex if she would please go get tested to be safe.
She immediately started accusing me of cheating when we were together (which I never did) and claimed that she already got tested for HPV twice. I told her that no, we only got blood work when we went to get tested and that HPV requires a swab. She just keeps telling me that she did when I specifically remember she did not, and she’s now throwing cheating accusations at me.
I’m really worried she might have it and possibly gave it to me. I know that I myself can get tested, but what if it doesn’t show up on my test but it shows up on hers? That means it could be a matter of time before I get it. I’m just really worried and stressed out right now over this.

And you won’t get your answers from the government coverup report that’s about to come out that will say Oh sure there’s some unexplained stuff but we don’t know about any aliens. And I hate to break it to everyone, but they already made contact. They are here and they have been here and they are now in contact with humans. Whatever was planned for July is still going to happen so far as I know I’ve heard Friends talking about a report for years and years, but I didn’t know it would happen this way. I don’t know if the report that’s coming out is to prepare us or if it’s just a cover up. I don’t know what it all will be on the 18th, either, except that Gina 2 and the Friends of Friends are leaving and someone else is coming.
I don’t know for sure what the government report will be but I think that the point of it is misdirection. There’s a big change in the program coming and the Friends are leaving, and that’s one of the reasons why I’m going too, I think. And something about that change I think might be really noticeable or destructive or something. There won’t be answers in any report, just misdirections, that’s my bet.

I've ran into all sorts of silliness buying and trading NFTs on Reddit. Some of these things happen to many by a few habitual offenders. I will not name names.
But here is what I will never do to potential buyers.

1.

I will not buy up 20 of one NFT on Opensea for 0.01, then list them for .04, and turn around and try to tell you that's the floor, and that's what I want while simultaneously snatch up every cheaper one that gets listed.

2.

I will not ask you for floor when I know I'm getting less than the listed floor because of commission.

3.

I will not pretend your moons are useless as the reason I want way more moons than the NFT calls for just because I know you don't have any other means to pay at the moment.
I will also not act like they are worth less than the current going rate just because they are in the red.
It takes a couple minutes to send out and convert.
In other words, I will not try to take advantage of your situation.
I will also not lie that the combined transfer fees sending it out, and converting are costing me $30 in eth.

I will not force you to pay floor while I simultaneously offer everyone else 40% less than floor for their stuff.

I will not say "well this is what I'm selling it as" when you can clearly see the last 5 sales sold for less.

If I ever want more than floor for an NFT, it is because I don't want to sell it, and it would require me to go out and buy it again if I do sell it to you. Which is a hassle for me. I have tried this once before, and I had to pay 0.01extra than what I sold it for to get it back.

There's no reason to act like a jerk here. Many people want NFTs for mashups only or collection.
Sellers don't own store fronts to demand the over going rate premiums they want. They don't have to pay $5000 a month rent plus insurances and utility costs to keep their stores up on open sea, and they don't have to pay commissions selling it to you here.
Many NFTs i obtained here from users were below floor. Some NFTs sell at floor because they are being bought constantly. That's understandable, but if one is listed for a few weeks at floor and isn't selling at that price, it's probably due to the fact that it's not worth the floor they are asking.

Hi all,
I don't really know what my diagnosis is, but I had my narcolepsy nap test last ear and while I never went into REM, I did fall asleep super quickly for all the naps. The sleep doc didn't have much to offer, said I was just a 'sleepy lady' and offered stimulants but I turned them down at the time. I very much regret that.
I am desperate for help, please. For some reason, after years of symptoms, things have gotten particularly bad in the last few weeks. I work from home; I have many other health conditions too so it took years to get to a place where I could work. I started full-time at a few months ago - which felt amazing - and now I feel like I'm dying. I literally fall asleep every minute or so. I cannot get anything done or concentrate and I absolutely can't stop it. I've sent emails where I accidentally key-smashed as I fell asleep and it doesn't matter if I'm sitting somewhere comfy or uncomfortable, like at a table. I've fallen asleep with food in my mouth.. I've fallen asleep multiple times writing this post. I can't get into the sleep doctor and I can't get in to see my GP for weeks. Any suggestions on how to make this stop? Or at least reduce things? I'll try anything. Thank you!

So I live in Canada but I went to the U.S. to visit my boyfriend and attend a wedding. While I was there I went to an Ulta for the first time. I was out of foundation and needed to get a new one so I could do my makeup for the wedding. I had been using the Rose Inc. Skin Enhance Skin Tint Serum Foundation but haven’t been digging it as much lately so I was willing to try something new.
I ended up getting the Urban Decay Stay Naked Weightless Liquid Foundation and absolutely love it! I planned to see if Sephora had it so I could get more when I eventually ran out and make it my go-to foundation. When I searched it at Sephora, it was on sale which usually only means a product is being discontinued. I’m really bummed out because I love this formula and it is a perfect match for my skin tone. I have very fair and neutral skin which also tends to be dry so I struggle to find a good foundation that doesn’t make my skin look dehydrated, is the right tone and provides the right amount of coverage.
Does anyone know if it is for sure being discontinued and does anyone know of any similar foundations that would be a good dupe? I tend to only buy cruelty-free makeup so if you know of any cruelty-free foundations that are similar that would be amazing.

just wanted to share a positive experience i had yesterday with 2cb. i had processed some stuff with my trauma on 2cb before and come to some interesting realizations already. but yesterday was groundbreaking, i would say. for context, i’d had a lump in my throat for like a week. i wasn’t sure why because the rest of my body felt totally fine, even my throat, overall. it was just a lump as if about to sob. when it first started i was terrified because it felt like my throat could close. but it turns out it was a muscle spasm caused by stress and anxiety. and there are many reasons i was/am stressed. everything has been overwhelming lately because my roommate and best friend, the best friend i’ve ever had, is transferring next semester. his friends are here visiting right now (we go to school in a different country from home) and i’m going back with my roommate for the summer. but it’s been stressful not having my own space anymore, and accepting that our era as roommates is officially over. there are about a million other reasons i’m stressed, all pretty large in scale. but i’ve always had trouble with feeling emotions well and especially crying. i have had many experiences where i want to cry, my eyes even well up, but i can’t get it to come out. but yesterday on the 2cb i finally was able to release everything. the lump in my throat is gone. i cried, yet i didn’t ruminate and spiral like i usually do on the rare occasions that i do cry. i didn’t judge myself or guilt myself for feeling the way i did. it was monumental and was the healthiest cry i’ve ever had. and i absolutely couldn’t have done it without 2cb. if i weren’t on it at the time, i may have eventually cried a bit, but i would’ve just gone numb and it would’ve kept building up inside me. so i just wanted to advise you guys to use 2cb as a healing tool at times, obviously not excessively though. but let your trip be a cathartic one because it seriously can change you each and every time, if you’re willing to open yourself up to such thoughts. you would have to really look inwards but you’re able to do so with such clarity on this stuff. my mind is always foggy and i have trouble remembering simple words as well as expressing my feelings and thoughts, but since 2cb makes my mind so clear, it helps me even while not on it to effectively communicate even to myself. would love to hear the kinds of healing experiences y’all have had.

I feel unsafe in my apartment. I've moved into a hellscape of an apartment building. Minus a million other things, my next-door neighbor regularly sits on the stairs right outside my window from 11 pm to 2, or 3 am watching youtube and IG videos talking and laughing loudly to himself (probably on drugs, our other neighbor literally thought it was a homeless person one time) then screams at me anytime I pop my head out my door to ask him to keep it down, and calls me a bleeping bleep and a bleeping racist and says he doesn't have to listen to anybody blah blah. This is just a sample of what of what happens every other week. I feel unsafe anytime I'm home.
My property manager isn't very helpful and "lost" all our checks a few months back, then I had weird charges on my account. So I don't trust I'll get my deposit back. I've lived here for 5 months.

Starship Troopers: Extermination (let's call it "ST:Ex" from here on for brevity) is fantastic and way better than I thought it'd be, but this post isn't about that game really, it's about some insights it revealed about Star Citizen ground gameplay and combat.
TLDR - Valk may not be a great dropship, but it is a great exfil ship. Risk/reward ground objectives are a good way to force non-ship combat. Player interactions on the ground can be greatly expanded with gadgets and a few tweaks. Temporary player owned structures could be a good compromise for many of the unknowns about player outposts and raiding.

• The Valk's Combat Role may be Slight Misunderstood - There's a lot of frustrations with the Valkyrie in combat scenarios that gets kicked around. Most around 3 things: lack of HP for what it is, large crew demand/low solo-ability compared to competitor ships, and other dropships "doing it better for less." Essentially, why should I use 5 crew to have an effective dropship in battle that carries less, can take less damage, and dishes out less than a Herc can w/ 3 crew?
  • Every ST:Ex match ends with a hectic, sometimes panicked dash for a very Valkyrie-like rescue exfil ship as other players already there desperately try to cover your sprint to the finish line. It made me realize the Valk may not shine as an attack dropship, but it seems far better specialized as a combat rescue/exfil vehicle ("dropship" seems to insinuate deployment). It shines at intaking a large amount of players quickly, and maybe a vehicle or two. Previously, I didn't differentiate - a dropship should be equally good at dropping off as it is picking up, but that just isn't the case in SC. You'd have to be absolutely insane to pack a single Valk with 20 players (+5 crew) and head into battle. The volume of dropseats has confounded me for years until I realized it's not for dropoff, it's for latitude when picking up. Everyone is guaranteed a seat to GTFO at high speeds. Additionally, no other SC ship has the same 360 degree coverage to secure it's own perimeter - that's what the crew demand is for, not fighting off other ships or managing the cargo bay.
  • Prowler and Herc are two main Valk competitors, but they too have their optimal situations.
  • As for HP, the Valk does currently need a big boost for what it is. It'll get it's armor someday.
• Situations that Call for Troops - This is a heavily theorycrafted subject by both devs and fans. What are the conceits that can be built into SC that won't feel arbitrary but will promote a ground game over just flying in? Having a team of Marines isolated on the ground with minimal air support is something that will really, really shine in SC once there's scenarios to promote it. The UGFs will be really nice, but they're akin to a "dungeon crawl." I'm referring to a true open world scenario that requires a squad on the ground working together that wouldn't just be quickly solved with a MOAB or a hovering ship blasting away. A lot of the theories have to do with area denial (storms, environmental hazards, ground shields, or stronger AA turrets), but offering functionality rather than taking it away may work equally well.
  • The missions of ST:Ex offer an interesting take on it: to secure valuable resources, you need to construct temporary resource extractors on the ground and then monitor, defend, and move the resources. Something a ship can't do. A SC ship could cover you in a similar scenario, but (thankfully) ship weapons are awful at targeting personnel. Truly securing a ground perimeter would fall to FPS and vehicles. The only thing we're missing is persistent and challenging ground NPC waves. Even if it was insanely valuable ground mineables within enemy or infested territory, that would work.
• True Ground Combat in SC is PlayeOrg Driven but there's Some Holes - The two big ones are the dynamics for sharing resources among players in FPS combat and area denial functionality.
  • When it comes to sharing resources during a firefight or battle, dropping mags/medpens/whatever on the ground is really the only way to do it on the fly. CIG devs have mentioned functional backpacks in the future that could drastically shift battlefield roles. If someone had an ammo pack strapped to their back that was tuned to be over-stuffed with ammo types (and maybe less functional or not at all for random items) and you could run up to them, interact w/ their pack without asking them to make themselves vulnerable by going into their own inventory, that would be huge. As a quick aside: literally the only practical use for the Drake Mule I've found is putting crates on the racks filled with ammo and driving it along the rear lines of a ground battle. Players can run right up to it, interact w/ crates, and refill ammo.
  • Area denial and battlefield gadgets in SC are also a long time coming. Like many of us, I thought even laser trip mines would be in our hands a long time ago. Everything from smoke screens, color smoke markers (that can be easily seen by air support), throwable/launchable beacons, mines, flashbangs, etc will be of immediate use in FPS. With the many grenade types you can imagine, having drums for the grenade launcher for each type is a very natural risk/reward. The drums are sizeable, the launcher is rare, and if you're bringing nonlethal and functional grenade types, you're already making a weighted tactical choice. Heck, even an underbarrel laser pointer that generates a party marker wherever it's aimed - can you imagine how effective that would be at directing air support?
• Lastly, Temporary Structures - We're all so excited for the day when we can establish our own permanent outposts, but there's some obvious big questions that still arise around that. Is it like Rust and I can be raided when I'm not online? Or will player outposts and towns be like Star Wars: Galaxies and often be perpetually empty, abandoned, and non-interactable?
  • ST:Ex involves the process of easily and quickly building a FOB (Forward Operating Base) that provides strategic advantages, is formidable, but ultimately is meant to be destroyed/temporary. With structure damage being mentioned by SC devs recently, it may be a clever solution to have certain military-aligned player structures be the more raid-able and destructible outpost types, while allowing colonial outposts to be less vulnerable. It would allow for both camps of outpost-oriented players to be appeased: those that want to have a home and not have to worry, as well as players that want the challenge/risk of raids and the associated benefits of securing areas for themselves. This would also (I presume) offer a natural weathering and eventual deletion of abandoned temporary structures, helping servers in the long run. Also, a Pioneer helping dish out a kick ass destructible FOB in no time would really open up it's functionality.
