I’ve always struggled with sleep paralysis since I was a little kid like 5 or 6. I always see the showdowy figure in the left upper corner of whatever room I’m in. Then I feel the weight on my chest like something is sitting on me. For most of my life I could just feel the weight on my chest and nothing more but this past year things took a more physical turn. When it happens I feel hands grabbing at parts of my body almost sexually, and something tried to cover my mouth and my nose to where I can’t breath. sometimes it gets so aggressive I’ll be in pain but I can’t shake myself awake. It goes on for what seems like at least 5 min. Sometimes the only way I can shake myself awake is when my boyfriend hears me breathing violently and he tries to wake me. I want to go see a psychic but idk anyone reputable around where I live in Fort Worth Texas. If anyone knows someone please comment and let me know, sometimes I’m genuinely scared it’s going to kill me in my sleep.

I recently moved out of my apartment that I share with a roommate 2 months early. We have been having roommate issues for a while and I started staying at my boyfriend’s place and only stopping back to get more clothes and stuff.
On these trips back each time I discovered more damage to my property (trash dumped out all in front of my room, sharpie covering my kitchen appliances and a gift from my grandmother, my stuff in the toilet, all my bathroom stuff dumped out, my childhood photos stolen off the fridge, etc) as well as my cameras being tampered with or unplugged and hidden as to not record these incidents.
I was trying to stick it out towards the end of my lease but I got fed up. She was purposely trying to bully me to move out but still pay the rent. I understand that i’m legally obligated to pay the rent but I did want to know how will this work in small claims court because of the circumstances I’m about to explain.
The apartment is in Ohio as I was going to school there. She thinks I got another apartment in Ohio however I moved back home for the summer which is in Maine. I don’t think she knows i’m from here. I’m not on any official address here and will not be staying with my parents. I also will be working at my grandmother’s diner off the books. So I will have no official address or work address (I will get mail sent to my mother’s house but I only visit her and she lives an hour away).
I also will not be returning to the college and will be taking a break and then transferring to a different college most likely in a completely different state.
I refuse to pay anything towards the rent because of her bullying but will pay anything owed in case of an eviction which I informed the apartment complex of. I know if she pays my half instead of an eviction she will definitely try to sue me however she will most likely not be able to serve me. I know i’m legally responsible for the money but I don’t want to make this easy for her and I understand I’m being petty. When the time comes I have the money to pay so maybe I’m being stupid about this.
How will this work and how long will this be dragged out? I’m pretty sure even if she can’t serve me eventually this will catch up to me but i’m curious to know how this whole process will work and what else she can do if not serve me?

Hi folks, I’m looking for place to rent. Currently found an apartment in Ermineskin that everything is pretty good, but I saw people are saying Ermineskin is having high crime rate and had gun shots etc. Is anyone living there can tell me is it really that bad? Is it worth the risk to live there?

I passed out one night at the club and was brought to the hospital via an ambulance. I woke up the next morning, and they sent me home after I felt a bit better. I genuinely think someone had spiked my drink that night because I had only had 2 cocktails, and I'm not usually that sensitive to alcohol, let alone completely passing out and waking up only hours later. I'm lucky my friends noticed that I wasn't responsive and called an ambulance.
They took care of me at the hospital, and I woke up the next morning. Someone came to take off all the monitors and stuff they had hooked on me and just let me go. At the hospital, they got my name and address from my ID card while I was being treated – that and my phone were the only things that were on me that night.
About a month later, I received an invoice for the blood test that they did, which totalled €223. So I called my health insurance company (AOK) and told them about it, and they asked me to forward them the invoice, so they would pay it. So I did that, and just 2 days after that, I got another letter from the hospital, this time demanding the money with a tiny bit of interest. So I ignored it, thinking that they probably needed a couple of days to process it, and it will get taken care of. (Now I know that was a mistake, and I should have called the AOK again to get an update, but I didn't, and I regret that).
But over a month went by, and I didn't hear anything, so I thought it was done with. Oh, how wrong I was. I got a letter from the hospital's lawyer, now demanding me to pay about €120 worth of his legal fees and to pay back the invoice with interest!
I was genuinely baffled because I'm 100% certain that they told me they would just cover it if I send them the invoice - which I promptly did (I even attached a small letter with all kinds of information, a small recollection of the events, and mentioned that I'm providing the invoice as per request). I was also writing everything down from my first phone call with the service worker when he told me all that.
So I called them again after getting that legal fees letter, and another service worker just tells me, 'Please send us an email with a scan of the legal fees invoice and say "bitte um Klärung," and we'll take care of it.' So I was reassured for a second because she also confirmed that they got the original invoice. Anyway, I promptly did what she asked of me.
A few minutes after sending that email, yet another lady from the AOK calls me and claims I asked for a callback (I hadn't, but still, I re-explain the situation because I think providing context is always a good idea, and I assumed she was calling about my case). But now it's a completely different story – this new service worker is claiming her colleague (the one who simply told me to send them the invoice, so they could cover it) had asked me to pay for it and then to send a proof of payment!! She starts telling me that they've always done it like that and that, that was never said! (Honestly, I was pretty angry, but after a call with my Rechtschutzversicherung, it seemed like there was nothing I could do because apparently the burden of proof falls on me to prove that what the new service worker was saying was not said the first time around).
So I ended up (I'm not gonna lie, pretty bitterly) paying the €120 lawyer fees and the €223 invoice, and I sent them proof of that – like they now requested, so they could reimburse me.
Lo and behold, after almost a month of waiting, I get reimbursed only €104. I sent an email (because I learned my lesson – only Schriftverkehr from now on, as impractical as that is) asking about that, and the lady called me today (even though I explicitly wrote in my emails to them to only contact me via Brief because emails are somehow not datenschutzkonform, and I only want Schriftverkehr) and said that only €104 were covered by the health insurance. I asked her to send a letter, and I'm expecting it in the next couple of... years, lol.
But on a serious note, I'm genuinely at a loss here. Is it possible to just get a €100+ invoice for something that was done to you when you were passed out? Do any of you happen to know if there's anything I can do here? Also, the AOK really did me dirty, but it seems there's nothing I can do. that is so much money for me (total €240 in the end!) and it feels like I have the worst luck in the world. That night was pretty traumatic, and it's still haunting me until this day, and it was so many months ago. I would really appreciate it if anyone has advice on this!

Hey folks, large amounts of Reddit subs are going dark starting June 12th for 48 hours to protest the API changes that will break all 3rd party phone apps. I personally use Joey for this Reddit account, and several of our other mods use 3rd party clients or find this very annoying. I understand where Reddit is coming from, they should charge for data at least with for profit apps or using Reddit to train AI, but community and open source stuff is different. Let me know what you think, we'll run this poll till Friday the 9th then decide on Saturday the 10th if we go dark on Monday June 12th so that everyone gets plenty of warning.

OK folks, we're looking to add a couple more moderators. Ideally, we'd like at least one gay guy to patrol all the M4M ads, which we barely touch today. We'd also LOVE A WOMAN if any of you are willing. Best way to get noticed? Report stuff to us via Chat or DM or modmail, offer helpful suggestions, etc. Show us expertise in automoderator. Do some research for the FAQ.
We're cracking down on F4M ads that don't use an actual neighborhood or suburb name and just say generic stuff like Dallas or Fort Worth or "Downtown" since most of that activity is spam. It doesn't have to be your actual suburb for your privacy, it can be nearby. Live in Plano? Say Carrolton or Allen. We're going to nuke first, then ask you to appeal. Sorry for that, I know it's a pain, but we've gotten maybe one appeal in the last six months, which says to me that everything we nuked was probably spam unless we discouraged actual real posters so much they didn't even bother to appeal which seems crazy.
We have a LOT of folks sending modmail about the automoderator post format. Please get it right. And low effort means you need at least like 140 characters- if you're posting less than that go get on Twitter or a dating app or something lol.

Always post your general area in your ad title or the post itself. Scammers don't know our area and thus the automatically posted spam stuff won't have geographic details and lots of scammers will pick an implausible area. Posting just Dallas or Fort Worth isn't specific enough, pick a neighborhood, and some scammers just say "downtown" without saying which downtown. If you're concerned about anonymity, an easy fix is to pick a place near yours. You're in Lower Greenville IRL? On here, you're posting from Lakewood or Deep Ellum, problem solved.

1. We're continuing to ban dick pic senders, spammers, etc. Please continue to report stuff to us via the report button or with screenshots via DM / Chat or . I'm pretty sure reporting bad DMs will get people banned from Reddit as well. 3. Reminder to think with your head, not your dick. There's constant spam and scams and other stuff going on, we moderators can't sit in front of our PCs 24x7 and nuke posts. Learn how to spot bad shit and don't do anything stupid. A good tip is to take any messaging username given to you and search Reddit or Google for it to look for other accounts or scammy behavior. The majority of F4M posts that don't obey our rules and format are scams. And NEVER give a girl money in any format whether gift card, CashApp, Venmo, whatever before a meetup. For some reason, the majority of scammer posts are like 22 or 24 or 27 Fs. If a younger girl is asking for some crazy shit, take a breath and ask why? Learn how to reverse search images to look for stolen pics. Common spam signatures include "#Dallas" or "#FortWorth" in the title, a single paragraph demanding a bunch of edgy sex acts, posting in FreeKarma4U or other a few random subs to get upvotes. Always search Kik names and other social media usernames on Google and Reddit- it's amazing how many are reused for scams.
4. Remember, one post per user per day. And you cannot post the same ad more than once in a week- this means you can post totally different things but don't just change the title or post slightly. Don't repeat your posts. It looks spammy and we will give you a one week ban.
5. We've had a couple folks show up begging for gift cards or other help. This really creeps me out and probably violates the Reddit rules. I think Dallas has a list of resources that can help, please go there instead of asking in here. We suspect many of these are scams too.
6. Reddit chat was bugged for a while. If you've got unread chats that won't go away, check https://old.reddit.com/chat/ to see the message requests you aren't getting.

Hi all, I'm an Aussie and possibly booking a short notice trip to the US in a week or two. I have a friend in Jacksonville FL so I'll definitely be visiting him towards the end of the trip. I'll be flying into LAX and then have the rough itinerary of the following:
- Arrive LAX, maybe Uber or bus to Santa Monica for a night or two
- LAX to Las Vegas, then rent a car and drive to Zion National Park
- Drive back to Vegas, then fly to Austin TX, or Dallas TX
- Train from Austin to Dallas (or reverse depending on where I fly to from Vegas)
- Fly to Toronto to see Niagra Falls
- Fly to NYC
- Train to Philadelphia
- Train to Washington DC
- Fly to Charleston SC
- Train to Savannah GA
- Train to Jacksonville FL
While I'm in Florida, I'd try to check out places like Miami or somewhere else depending on suggestions (and time). If my friend can get time off work, we're thinking about going to Puerto Rico for a few days. If not, maybe just the Florida Keys.
I'm also thinking about a cruise to the Bahamas for +/-5 days.
The number of days I spend in each place will depend on how much it costs for accommodation and what there is to see and do there. Most places I'll only spend two nights there, aside from NYC where I might stay 3-5 nights.
Are there any places I should remove (or add) from the itinerary? The Zion NP is somewhere I'm not overly sure about as I'm nervous about driving in the US by myself. In that case, I'd fly from LAX to Austin or Dallas (does the order matter?).

Hi! Goodevening adultingph. 24M currently earning 37k a month. For my 1st month of working, I saved up 15k. The rest syempre splurged myself, my son (a cat), and people in my life.
My 1st dilemma is that too much to save? Is it sustainable? (Can I consistently maintain saving that amount?) I don't have any obligations at home but I still plan on contributing a minimum of 3k a month. It might increase, it depends. For my expenses in a month, it would be around 10k.
Another is, what's your advise on how to "grow/invest" my money? I currently have MAYA for my EF and a Mutual Fund on BPI. After completing 6 months worth of expenses for my EF, I plan to start my savings. Are my actions/decisions any good?

So I've had the AAP-01 a while and from day one I had issues with it. The issue was always about the hammer not being depressed far enough for the auto-sear to engage and lock it back when the slide locks back. This meant that when the slide was locked back on an empty mag, if I pulled the trigger, the hammer would fire. When releasing the bolt forward, it would either get stuck or force itself home and discharge.
So I replaced every component on the gun and nothing seemed to work. In the end, I obtained another AAP which was definitely working.
Trying all sorts of combinations of parts until my fingers were stripped back to bone, I managed to come to the conclusion that using individual CowCow upgrade parts might work but was fairly unreliable. Most of the time using all CowCow parts was unusable and using all of my stock parts would cause failures. It was my hammer, primarily that was the issue.
Now, I thought that was that, however, on the functional gun in stock config, I discovered another issue.
When I pulled the bolt back, unlike on mine, the hammer would lock back and pulling the trigger wouldn't do anything. However, I let the bolt go forward, meaning the hammer was now primed, but then pulled the bolt back again and let it lock back. This time, the hammer fired and was obviously not locked back. The fix for this... cleaning all of the lube of the gun.
So, it seems that over time, as most of us know, the hammer, rotor and bolt (BBU) wear down quite badly. So that's what is happening here. Over time, as they wear down, the gun becomes less tolerant of the seating of the upper and lower being imperfect. So, when manually operating the gun, all seems well, but if I pull the bolt backwards and upwards, that's where the issues lie. The reason, of course, because the whole gun is held together by two polymer teeth which can bend.
Neither of the AAPs, not the CTM lower can fit the CowCow upgraded metal locking button and I heard the metal uppers can be a bit hit or miss, plus that would really defeat the point for me.
So, I guess my only conclusion here is that this gun is reliant a flexible polymer frame being absolutely locked in place and if you pull it a little bit upwards or if gas causes the bolt to go up a bit, the gun will cease up as the bolt and rotor are worn down enough to the point where only a perfect seating will allow the hammer to get picked up fully by the bolt.
So, if two guns have failed with CowCow parts, I can assume my only fix now would be to use all CowCow hammer parts and a CowCow bolt. However, I did just this a while back and it didn't fix my gun at all. In fact, it worked significantly worse like this. Not being made of money, I am pretty much just asking you all now that if anyone else has had this, is there any fix that is even worth my time and money any more so should I just ditch this platform and get a Hi-Capa?
I really just want to believe that this gun can be reliable but this is insane. Two AAPs with the same problem efffectively caused by minor wear and imperfect design.

A little vent about my most recent game.
My DM seems to be going easy on us, and I don’t know how to tell him that for me, it makes the world feel more real and role play/mechanics more satisfying when NPCs aren’t always forgiving and obliging.
Our party was outside of town when we got word that our barbarian’s NPC love interest had been kidnapped and taken to a noble’s manor in a violent altercation that left bystanders severely wounded. We hurried back to town, and broke into the manor to rescue her. Most of us wanted it to be a stealth mission. I came in the front door as a scout, lookout and distraction (bard asking about auditioning for an upcoming festival, and then asking to use the washroom upstairs), but the barbarian couldn’t wait - she killed two guards and left the lady of the house tied up and unconscious. The fairy ranger cast Charm Person on the nobleman, and the druid panicked and summoned a swarm that caused lots of chaos and property destruction.
Turns out it had all been a misunderstanding - the NPC had been safe the whole time! The man who kidnapped her isn’t evil, he’s basically a sad self-sacrificing puppy who only wants to have a scary reputation so that he doesn’t actually have to hurt anyone!
The NPC and her “kidnapper” emerged from another room, saw the chaos and convinced the nobleman (who had broken out of the charm and was furious at being mind-controlled) to let us go. So ultimately some NPCs saved us from other NPCs/the consequences of our actions. It certainly was a relief not to have the nobleman call down a squadron of guards on us, sure, and it was the end of the session anyway. I wasn’t bothered yet.
In the morning, then nobleman sent us an invitation to meet with him. We already had plans for the day, and when we asked to delay the meeting, we were told “sure, tomorrow is fine too”. Maybe the DM wanted to give us some breathing room after the chaos? It felt like meeting with the nobleman was important to get around to, but not urgent at all.
The NEXT day (so, a good 36 hours after invading the mansion), we arrived for brunch with the nobleman. I prepared an eloquent apology before the session, using my in-character knowledge of his pride and sense of duty to the town, his violent tendencies (we had found a prisoner in a closet, whipped within an inch of his life), the importance of maintaining the “all is well” facade, etc. As the bard and party Face, I am already pretty charismatic, but I cast Enhance Ability on myself to be extra persuasive.
The DM never asked for a single persuasion roll.
And it wasn’t like I got “wow, that was great, you don’t even have to roll for that” kind of feedback. The nobleman didn’t act proud or violent or delusional like we’d been told he was by every other NPC in town. He seemed like an exhausted parent, like as long as we weren’t outright rude to him and acknowledged that what we did was wrong, he would have let us off the hook. He even mentioned he knew we had met with a rival noble house after the altercation in his home, but that didn’t seem to bother him. He barely seemed angry and made no real demands of us - letting us choose between community service and time in the stocks as punishment. And when we said we had been planning to leave town to help some local merchants, he said, “sure, that counts as community service. “
After the session, it took me a few days to realize why I felt kind of deflated after that session. I felt superfluous.
I don’t know if this is anything worth bringing up to the DM, and if so, how I should do it.
He knows I’ve run this adventure as a DM before, and I want to be clear that this has nothing to do with “your version of the characters is wrong”.
How do I say “when NPCs save us, or don’t make us earn our victories, it can feel like the work I’ve put into my character is wasted” and “do the nicer-than-expected versions of all these NPCs mean something in-game? Is this a sign that this noble is actually a flawed yet ultimately good and trustworthy guy? Or do you as a DM just not like role playing bad people but our characters should still be afraid of them? Informed evil, vs visibly evil?”

My region is North America.

Hi all,
I got a great opportunity that would require a move out of the area. I would be moving into a home I already own, whose mortgage is less than half the rent I currently pay.
I asked my landlord if I could buy my way out of my current lease (~9 months left) with 2 or 3 months worth of rent and he refused.
What can I do? The only thing I can think of is not to pay rent to force him to evict me. I know he'd take me to court to sue me for what I owe, which I'm happy to pay. I would show a judgement on my record, which isn't a huge concern because I'm moving into a place I own.
I'd hate to do this, as I like my landlord and it's not in my nature. I don't want to be obnoxious or get evicted through any other method that affects the people around me.

i am looking to move out of my parents home soon , i was wondering could i rent a room in a privately shared property ( i have my own room but share kitchen and toilet etc) and dwp will cover my housing costs? or do i need to find a council flat for them to do this? I'm looking for a home built in certain years where I can easily upgrade it to make it smart technology friendly as well as eco efficient. I'm not sure if it can be done on any home or if its better to do it on a semi-new home as I feel like the years mentioned are most likely up to code with insulation, plumbing, electrical wiring, and home efficiency. Basically homes that are easy to fix for a technician because its underlying layouts are more accessible and diagramed better compared to older homes. Homes built after 2020 seem to be even compatible, but more expensive (like a $100K-$200K difference) and use much more cheaper materials and require time to actually settle in. Though homes built in the 90s here are like $100K cheaper, but outdated.... but thats $100K worth of upgrades that can be done to keep it modern or it could be $100K worth of headaches because things here and there will need to be fixed as the house project goes along. I used to live in a home built in the early 1900s and some of the services were very expensive to fix primarily plumbing and electrical wirings with the internet due to an outdated layout and required extra time and money to modernize it.
So would looking for homes built after 2000 but before 2020 be a better choice in this situation? Or can it be done with any home?

I apologize that this may be a long post but I want to paint the full picture here. I became a single mom of 2 under 4 last year. My divorce is about to be finalized (I currently live in a state where you have to be separated for a year to file) and im trying to figure out what to do.
I moved to the east coast 4 years ago to follow my ex in the military. I have absolutely no family here. I now work full time after being a SAHM for two years. I had to get my own place because the rooms I was renting the house is being sold. I am now barely making it by financially. My kids dad doesn’t pay child support other than daycare because we have 50/50 custody, every other week.
My issue is all the debt I have racked up over the years of being the only one with good credit in our relationship. And unfortunately they’re all in my name. I pay over 1k a month to loans and credit cards. In the next month or two my ex will be leaving the service, meaning we will lose all military based daycare and insurance. This means we now have to pay more out of pocket and he wants me to help. I will not be able to afford it.
My dilemma now is what to do. I have the option to move back home with my mom to the west coast and she wouldn’t charge me rent and help with the kids. Then maybe I can save money and pay off my debts. But my hesitation is that the job I’m currently at is paying for my school so I can finish my bachelors degree. Fully paid. If I leave, I give up that. I’ve looked into transferring to another location as they are for the most part country wide but the west coast has significantly less options due to only having 7 locations state wide. If I even found a position to transfer to I would be commuting at least an hour to work because I live in a smaller town.
But if I stay here I feel like I won’t make it long financially. My savings are depleting. The kids dad also wants to leave the state so if he leaves I will get child support but I’ll be with the kids full time here with no support at all plus paying for daycare for two kids would basically take up all he gives me.
I don’t know what to do. Should I move for the support and give up the free school?
I’ve also thought about moving to a state closer to my family that has more locations for me to transfer too but even though they’d be closer it would still be 5-7 hour drive and I’d have to find daycare for the kids.
I’m just at a loss and so stressed out. I feel like if I give up school I’ll never be able to make a better salary but I also cannot afford to be here on my own for long.
What would you do? It feels like a year after becoming a single mom I’m more stressed than I was when we first split up.
I also only have 1.5 months to decide because once he gets out we either have to enroll the kids in a full time daycare or move.
