We’ve been dating for two years now and have been living together for one year. I’m finding it really difficult to love my boyfriend’s dog.
The dog has a serious whining problem. We could be sitting on the couch and it’ll see my cat walk by and the dog will whine. The dog will just look at you and it’ll whine. It’s hard to be intimate in our bedroom because the dog will be outside our bedroom door, whining, and it can be so distracting and a huge turn off. The dog’s needs are met. She has food and water. She doesn’t need to go outside. She’s not in pain. She gets attention. She has toys. He says it’s been a trait of hers since she’s been a puppy. She’s 6 years old now and half the time, he doesn’t even notice when she whines anymore. It’s drives me absolutely insane and idk how to approach it.
It’s so sad to say, but I just don’t want her around me anymore. She’s so energetic and CLINGY, ALL THE TIME. She could be dead asleep on the couch, and if I just so happen to move my leg, she jumps up and thinks it’s time to play. I find a lot of her traits to be annoying and I just don’t know how to deal with this in my relationship :( I love my boyfriend a lot and we definitely plan on having a long future together. I don’t want to upset him and I also would hate the guilt of demanding him to get rid of her. Ugh. What should I do?

(i live in MN) i have been without AC for about a month. unfortunately, MN has had an awful spring filled with extremely hot weather, so my apartment manager originally said that because of the fluctuating temperature, ie being freezing one day, and a sauna the next, they weren’t able to turn the AC on. that was about a month ago, and they stated they turned it on sense. however, almost half of the units are without AC right now. they gave us all portable AC units which to no avail, are not helping at all. It’s also a loft style so we have floor to ceiling windows filling the apartment that cannot open, so it’s extremely stagnant, hot air. they said repairs were supposed to be done today but now they’re pushing them back further.
it fluctuates between 85 and 95° in my apartment and I have two dogs, so it’s very concerning how hot it is getting. I did file a complaint with the city and my neighbors did as well but none of us have heard back. It’s getting to the point where I’m gonna have to stay at a hotel, because of how hot it is in the apartment.
I really love where I live and don’t want to move out but I don’t know how much longer I can deal with the hot air. I tried googling tenant rights for Minneapolis/Minnesota, but it just came back with a lot of info on how to file complaints.

I'm looking for a shelf/organizer table for a small bedroom where there is no bookshelf and only a small desk. I'm not exactly sure what to call this - it would be smaller than an armoire, not a desk, not dresser, but something like a bookshelf with closing doors? Problem is there is no place to put small items (keys, waterbottle, water glasses, wallet, purse, books, etc.) as the desk is very cluttered. So things go to the floor and it's quite messy. Ideally, I'd like to have something that needs no assembly/install and is very simple/easy. Something that can be easily removed and taken to future apartments. Budget is <$500. Hello, this is my first time trying to install Windows and Linux on the same drive. I have a 4TB ssd on my laptop (only one slot) that currently have Windows 11 installed (takes up all the space, no manufacturer partitions from Asus since it’s a clean install). Is it possible to directly shrink the windows main partition and install fedora on it? How will bitlocker affect the Linux partition? Can I use grub as the default boot selector? If so, can I set default to one and don’t show the selection menu unless I pressed a certain key? How will future updates on both systems work? Can I prevent windows partitions from mounting while running Linux (and also the other way around)? Does REFS work under Linux? Is it possible to disable dGPU on fedora without restarting? I have so many questions to ask, any suggestions are appreciated!

Critical thinking and logic can be used to see through ridiculous claims. One of the reasons children aren’t able to enter into legal contracts or be held to the same standards as adults, is because these parts of the brain develop over time. The following quotes about the importance of teaching our kids how to think from a young age are from a website called “reboot-foundation.org” If you’d like a crash course in logic and critical thinking, I’ll put the link below.

Do they encourage children to train their brains from a young age? They are also forced to accompany their parents in field service for many hours per month as well as have “family worship night” and read books designed for kids from the moment they can read. This is obviously incredibly boring for children, yet they are instructed repeatedly not only to never complain, but told how to feel about it. They are to call this loving, and are physically punished for not doing as they are told. This installs their earliest examples of religious cause, effect and cognitive dissonance. Even though they feel bored, they must act interested. Do this and get rewarded, don’t do this and get punished. They experience it now, so god will do the same to them as taught by their parents and the organization.
Their parents, along with everyone they are allowed to associate with tells them that doing more for God AND his organization is what makes God and everyone else happy. Everyone outside of this circle of influence, all non JWs, is called evil, dangerous, mentally disturbed, satanic and so on, regardless of the visible qualities that person or group of people display. Acts of charity are meaningless and must be avoided if provided outside the circle. Disagreeing with the circle instantly places you outside of the circle, proving something is wrong with you. It’s safer to not ask questions, or study the Bible on your own, and encouraged instead to study publications the organization distributes which tells them how to act, think, dress, talk, love, play, spend their time, educate themselves, spend their money and how to feel about doing these things. This extremely high control, “B.I.T.E” model that all but forbids being exposed to anything that would introduce critical thinking.
That’s why 2 year trade schools, or high labor, low skill, part time jobs are heavily encouraged, yet all other forms of higher education or career paths are demonized.
Thinking differently about anything the WT says, proves that person has an evil heart condition. God would have drawn someone into the JW circle if they had a good heart, it’s why you’re in the circle.

An unverifiable reward that will never have to be paid and impossible to prove after death. The ultimate long con, from cradle to grave is being and has been perpetuated for over 140 years. All of those original “believers” are long dead and the new “overlapped” generation making the same claim today is getting older and older. When they are all gone too and the next in line to hold the “special secret knowledge” worthy of yet another generations lifetime of time and money, they will just explain it away as “new special secret knowledge”.
Learn to use logic and critical thinking skills, teach them to your children and break the cycle of manipulation, lies and abuse.

I'm trying to reduce my carb intake to have a more balanced diet and am finding it hard to do that around lunch time. I work at an office that is close to a grocery store, however; we only have a microwave, so preparation is somewhat of a challenge. I began buying Two Good low fat vanilla yogurt and a "wild and free" oat blend with chia, quinoa, flax, etc. I enjoy it a lot but am not sure if Two Good is the healthiest option. My (F25) husband (M31) have been married for 4yrs but together for 8yrs. We have had many challenging ups and downs through out our marriage but have stayed together trough it all. Things were good for the first couple months, he was actually making a visible effort and that meant so much to me. I made sure to tell him what I liked about what he did to encourage it more. Not long after, things just shifted. He went back to playing video games 24/7. As soon as he gets home he will take a shower and then he's glued to his console the rest of the night. He also spends his whole weekend gaming. I'm a gamer also, but I don't want to do that with ALL of my free time. He gets frustrated when I say no if I want to do something else so he just stopped asking me to join them. Now I'm left out of all of it.

So soon to be 5 years ago I was 18, I had just landed a really good apprenticeship, really my dream one if im honest, I moved out from my parents house a couple of months after my 18th birthday to a really nice condo with a good friend of mine, I still took collage classes to get a degree while also keeping my apprenticeship, money was no issue and I had so much excess energy and felt like I could do anything, we hosted great parties, met new friends and girlfriends. hello everyone who read this. I search for a subreddit to write my situation and I found this. My dog died fourth months ago, he had cancer in multiple areas around his body. We visited a veterinary one month after he passed away, and they told me "he had time, months to live. You have three solutions". For money, I couldn't take the best option. The last solution was to give him medicines to make his last days better. At that moment my life changes a lot because a have in my mind day by day the idea of when my dog was to die. They told me months but he only live 28 days after those words. His last days were very tiring, he didn't eat, run, things dogs make every day. The last day for my dog was the 21st of February, I had to make the decision to make him sleep to stop everything that he support for days.
My dog and I spent 13 years together, I have 18 years old, and for me, he was my little boy, my best friend, my children, everything and his loss makes my sou bad, I can't deal with his death, many years growing side by side, took pictures together, running around parks, make moments very funny, felling his footsteps coming towards me, hear their barking or just looking at it. I don't know how to live in this moment, I feel much at this point in my life and can't hug my best friend, their licks make me better and has me a reason to push but couldn't anymore.

I'm coming here in hopes to receive some suggestions, as my vet, VB and I have hit a wall.
About 2ish-3ish months ago my pooch Stan, a middle (German?) Spitz, 9 years old, has started to drink excessively. We have two bowls of water across our home and when it's extreme, he drinks like 5-6 bowls of water in a day.
At first me and my mum thought it was because it was getting slowly warmer, but then it kept increasing and he is very whiney when we go out and pees for the first times. He also pees so much, it's astonishing. Whenever ever have to go somewhere, we usually go out with him real quick for a wee. If this pee walk happens 1 hour after his last outing, he behaves the same (whiney and excited to get out) and even sometimes pees the same amount.
The vet has done a full bloodwork for multiple concerns, to check mostly for Diabetes, kidney failure and other issues. It was discovered he has hypothyroidism, but after talking to my vet and doing research, it shouldn't cause my dog to drink excessively and pee so much. Nothing else is wrong with him according to tests. Sugars are fine, no inflammations or infections, kidneys are doing good according to the bloodwork. His fur is wonderful, he eats just fine, plays fine, etc.
So we're left confused and I wanted to see if maybe some of you have some suggestions what I could ask my vet to check for. I'm worried something could be wrong with him medically.
Or could it be that he just really likes to drink, which is also worrisome I think? I've heard dogs can die from too much water intake just like us and some dogs have died after playing in the pool due to drinking a lot of water.

My boyfriend and I got into our first argument. For some backstory, He’s an Ex-addict and we met through my ex, they were pretty good friends and did some “business” together. My ex was very abusive and very manipulative, and we inevitably broke up this was a little over a year ago. Lately he’s been acting really weird, getting home 3 hours after work ended, then saying he stayed behind to finish something but I know that’s not true (I’ve been friends with his coworker for 8 years, he told me my boyfriend left before him). Or I’ll take a nap, wake up and he’s gone, and he’ll say he just left and is getting gas. Now I know I have trust issues but even a completely sane person wouldn’t trust this. My best friend happens to be dating my exes cousin T, he was over at his cousins house(my exes) and told me today my boyfriend magically showed up there after work????? So I did what anyone else would do, and I called him, asked him why he was there, he said “oh, I was just driving by to be an asshole, and T flagged me down for a ride back home.” I later come to find out he was there before he knew T was there and was talking with my ex long before T asked him for a ride home. So I accused him of lying to me and he wouldn’t say a word, so I grabbed my keys and I left for all of 20 mins. Just needed to clear my head for a second. I come back to the house and he’s gone. FUCKING GONE. He left at 6pm last night and didn’t come back, finally at 2am I lost my shit and went out driving, I searched every trap house I could think of him associating with. I searched for 3 hours and ended up finding it while aimlessly searching around town. (His car is the only one of its type in town, I can spot it a mile away). Now I didn’t know whose house it was, so I went up to the random tweaker that was fucking around with a car in the drive way, and he said he’s never heard of that guy and has no idea where the car came from (fucking liar). I saw my boyfriend poke his head through the curtain and back in, mind you I’ve definitely been calling and texting him this entire time, like desperately trying to find him, and now all of a sudden his phone rings one time and then it’s off. That was at like 5am. So I called an old friend whose baby daddy still runs in that crowd so I could maybe get some info on whose house it was. And she told me based on google maps, it’s either some dealer dudes house or one of his ex girlfriends, so now I’m freaking the fuck out, the only thing he’s texted me in 12 hours is, I’m not “dead”. I’ve called, I’ve messaged, I even called his mother. But I don’t know any of his friends, and even if I did they definitely wouldn’t talk to me. Around 7am I called my buddy that he works with and he said he showed up, but he’s being really weird. I told myself I’d never date an addict again, and he promised me he wouldn’t use when he got out. Should I wait for him to come back or should I just put all of his shit on the curb, should I leave?
