I need to be able to get to a level of dutch where I can read complex contracts in dutch with total comprehension, being able to identify any unfavorable clauses or stipulations with almost perfect accuracy.
Is there a series of course books that I can just follow to get from beginner to fluent? If so, which is the best? I've checked the book list but it seems that they're individual books that provide a good foundation of the most important elements of dutch, but I'm looking for a series of books to get from the A to Z of total comprehension of everything about the language.
I've seen posts on the sub mentioning A1(?) or A2 level dutch. Is there a sequence of course books that I could go from A1 to whatever the highest comprehension rating is?
Obviously I'd also use the books in the sub's reading list and all the other resources, but I'm also looking for a cohesive series that will take me along every step of the way to the highest levels of the language (primarily reading and writing).

Hello everyone. I'm a BSCE student from the Philippines, I'm afraid that I won't be 'site-ready' when I graduate. To give you guys some background, our country doesn't have the best educational system, and my current uni doesn't really promote a healthy school-life balance for the students. We have a lot of profs who never show up to lectures, their reason is that they feel lazy and we are supposed to know the topic beforehand without even teaching it to us, then they'd proceed to give us difficult assessment tasks expecting us to ace it. One professor even threatened us to not report them to the Dean of the school else we would automatically fail, so they are aware of what they lack but they don't realize their responsibility to us. The units that we were required to take for every sem are 25+ and classes start as early as 7:30 A.M. and some classes end as late as 9:00 P.M. There were cases where a lot of us exhibited symptoms of COVID but our department took a blind eye, I had to take an exam with fever and a congested nose and surprise surprise, I got a low score.
They basically force us to burn out yet after all of the hard work we were given no rewards. I've always gaslighted myself into thinking that maybe I'm not studying hard enough or I'm not trying hard enough, but I've sacrificed a lot, I've sacrificed sleep, my healthy eating habit (there were times I only ate instant coffee, and noodles for a week), enjoying special occasions and holidays, my social life and even my passion for arts. I know that I'm not super smart but I make that up by studying hard yet I feel like I'm always running out of time to study because there's an assessment every week (we basically have a high school type of schedule and there's an instance where we have to take quizzes and exams of different courses under a week).
I felt like I'm drowning with all of the overwhelming pressure that is put on me. It comes to a point where I feel guilty for taking a rest, and one instance where I'm studying while breaking down because I felt really exhausted, and yet I can't rest. I blamed myself for everything because I saw some of my acquaintances that also took up BSCE in a different university are able to juggle school, work, and personal responsibilities. I felt weak because compared to them, I'm only focused on school and yet I'm still not doing well. I blamed myself for everything, it got to a point where I cut myself due to the pain of too much pressure from myself, the school, and my parents. I've been clean for 5 years, and it's a shame that I fell back to it just because the school decided that our life would be miserable.
I'm scared that I would be a terrible engineer due to the results of my performance at school. Now that I'm in my 4th year, It dawned on me how the school gave me a poor foundation on the concept of engineering. Our course on construction materials and testing was done online without any laboratory testing, we never experienced using a theodolite, and any laboratory we conducted was poorly explained and even told us to "fake the results" so we never know what is the standard. As of now, our university changed its rules that put students in a very difficult situation, a lot of the students would be delayed due to the new rules so a lot of us are either transferring or trying to voice out our concerns to the students who will stay in the university, to ensure that they won't be taken advantage by the school rules.

Hello! I'm currently an upcoming college freshman this school year who wants to study Law in the future. Currently, I have been accepted to 4 different universities but I'm unsure which to pick. Here’s the list of the unis that accepted me and their program offer:
• ADMU BS Legal Management
• DLSU BS Legal Management
• UST BS Legal Management
• SBU Legal Management
• SBU Accountancy
I heard that ADMU and DLSU's LM programs are business-heavy while SBU's LM prog is heavily law-based which is a good preparation for law school. On the other hand, I haven't heard that much from UST LM. SBU also offers Accountancy which might be more beneficial in the future as I can be a CPA Lawyer and it's like a fallback if I don't go to law school (but I know this is rigorous). With that, I have the following questions
• If I take LM, which university would be the best?
• Should I take Accountancy over LM if I want to be a corporate lawyer?
• Would I be at a disadvantage if I take Accountancy in SBU considering that it's not DLSU/UP/UST Accountancy?

Disclaimer, the mouse is very old and was heavily used, this is not to hate about the batteries or Razer in general.
I've got a razer mamba, the 2015 one, back in 2017 I think. Now after all these years I've been noticing that it didn't lay down flat anymore and took it apart, as the warranty is waaaayyyyy over and I'm at least somehow skilled at not damaging them while being open and exposed.
A nice and steamy, thick and seriously worrying fluffy pillow awaited me inside.
now to the Question: as my google searches didn't really gave me a place to buy a replacement battery, except very shady ebay listings and sites that I've never even heard of (even with all bad grammar and spelling errors), I'm asking you. The battery had no markings at all, not saying anything about voltage or capacity. Is it just a normal Li-po or Li-ion battery with 3.7V, which I can replace with some I've already laying around, or is it a special one?
Using the mouse wired without a battery inside caused glitchy behaviour, like random stuttering in both rgb and the sensor, so this isn't really an option. The repair is only to reduce e-waste and have a backup on hand (and it's well, sentimental as this was my first real gaming mouse and I'd be happy if it isn't just dead), as I've already got two new ones since this one (no, I'm not a hoarder, one is the replacement and the other was for better portability to school and now university)

My brother (34m) is going through a divorce with his skank of a wife shortly. She’s been unemployed for 6 years saying “it’s just to hard” while complaining about his 500$ a week allowance he gives her. He pays all bills. And even though they’ve talked divorce, no paperwork is filed that I’m aware of. She INTRODUCED her new boyfriend to their 4 kids and my brother. I hear everything from my mom while she prays for guidance
Now… I hate my brother. With a burning passion. He raped my sister and I for years. Sexually abusing us from ages 3-8. Got away with it by my mom covering it up. Saying he was just having a hard time adjusting to his hormones. And now. There’s no legal way for us to get him put in jail or even on a sex offenders list. Dad found out and won’t even look at my brother now. And has him blocked on everything. He’s told me that if my brother ever comes to his house to hold him back. But I don’t think I’d want to stop him from doing what I wish would have happened years ago.
For more back ground of how shitty my brother is. He got kicked out of college 2 months jn for raping the deans daughter but there wasn’t substantial evidence. He did drugs and borrowed 5k from me when I was 17$ and I never saw it again. My parents JUST finished off paying his 40k student loan 2 years ago because he screwed them over. I had to pay college out of my pocket for college because of how he fucked them over financially.
I’ve black listed him for 7 years now with only a short 3 week period where my mom begged me to talk to him last year. Where he begged for money, help, and forgiveness while I was working 3 jobs during covid to make ends meet because he was doing drugs while having 4 kids to provide for. And I told him to go to hell after he said we were crazy for holding it over his head so long. Such a fucking Golden child with no sense of consequence or life outside of his own…
Anyways. That comment sparked a foght between me. His wife. Him. And my mom. His wife told my mom to control me. Mom told her to learn to control her kids first before butting her head into another families matter and I well. I told them to eat shit and I hope they both flop off a bridge.
Now. I don’t want her to have the kids. Because she can’t provide for them and she’s neglective to them because she wants everything to herself. I haven’t seen them in 4 years.but I’ve seen photos and I see a lot of inconsistencies with her posts on their treatment. But I also don’t want my brother to have them because I’m scared of what he may do to them based on what he did to me and my sister. I know he’d loose all chance if I speak up. And I know if I do. I may be damming these kids to foster care or grandparents rights with my parents and they don’t have the space.

I sometimes feel I won't be able to handle a job if I get one. I'm 23 and have never had a job before. I'm on the autism spectrum and my IQ has been tested officially before. The report came back as below average. I remember being in school and being chastised by teachers for taking longer to understand things or for not following directions that I didn't understand. I'm worried the same stuff will happen if I get a job, and I don't feel smart or good enough for a good job that pays well. I compare myself a lot to other autistic people who have good jobs and were able to find their niche. I get jealous of people who are able to rise in their careers. Compared to them I can't see why an employer would want to waste their time on me.
I've had some accomplishments. I've made the Dean's list multiple semesters in a row but it was for a psychology associate's degree for classes that I took part time so it doesn't feel worthy to mention. I've also completed a MS Word certification back in high school, but the test wasn't that hard.

Disclaimer: My story might be viewed as weird and incomprehensible to many in this sub but read it with an open mind.
Since the beginning of last year, I suffered from depression that was weighing down on me badly to a point I wanted to quit my job (which I need very much). I tried dating different people and having as much fun as I could (partying, a little bit of travelling) but at the end I was back to square one on the depression scale. I resorted to weed to help me reduce the effect depression was having on my productivity and for a while it worked by keeping me going on for as long as I could without giving up, but it was just keeping the problem at bay. And I did not want to add weed into the list of addictions that I was trying to get rid of.
I scoured the internet for information on natural drugs that have assisted people with their situation. I found out about shrooms (psychedelics) but the issue was that it isn't a popular substance like weed in Kenya. After a month of searching was able to get someone to sell me a gram since I found them expensive and wasn't sure what to expect. First try I felt nothing much. Long story short due to my curiosity, months later I was able to try out different psychedelics (6g shrooms(wild experience), acid, etc). Those drugs really helped my mental health, depression ilikuwa inaisha slowly but haikuisha completely. After the 6g shrooms experience, I started being curious about religious stuff and their correlation to drugs, mind you I am not a church goer (5yrs and counting since I went for a Sunday service).
So now I wanted a spiritual experience since psychedelics showed me a world, I never knew existed and intense sensations and emotions. Fast forward, last Friday I got myself a `spiritual drug` like what the shamans from South America used in their spiritual rituals (still a type of pysch) let's call it 5D and another one called SD. These are extremely powerful drugs with short lasting effects (15-20mins) and not for clubbing or raves. I had my girlfriend watch me, so that I don't anything stupid when am in the trance state. Put a little bit of 5D in my smoking pipe, inhaled but never felt nothing major. Thought maybe I put a small amount, added more.
Then I took one long hit, within a few seconds the come up started. I gave my gf the pipe and felt like my body was getting weak, the body load was very intense. Then inside my head or sijui my body, I felt like my soul was being sucked out of my body then it was dumped in an infinite dark space. Imagine a small needle, then uingize thread kwa hako kashimo but on the other side of the shimo the thread inatoka kama a large blanket, that's how I felt. So, when I was in that dark infinite void, I felt I was existing everywhere at the same time and I felt every bit of space in that void even though it was infinite. The emotions I felt were none like I have ever felt in my entire existence. Immense and overwhelming peace, happiness and love. Nikiwa huko, time didn't exist at all, and I felt connected with everything even though I could see nothing there. After a while (what seemed like an eternity to me but was just around 13 mins) I felt like I was being pulled back inside my body and I was back to my body. My GF was very worried because she said I was very restless kwa kitanda but I never felt that when I was in the other space. In the other space, I didn't feel like I had a body (at nlisahau breathing becuase huko hakuna kubreath haha).
Bado story haijaisha, hio ilikuwa 5D, the next day I decided to try out SD. By now you may be thinking kwani sijipendi hehe. So tried to take SD I put it a glass pipe but nothing happening, I got disappointed and thought maybe the stash had lost potency. Then on sunday I searched for information and found out I was consuming it wrongly. So, sunday with the remaining stash of SD, I put it in different pipe and nikaiwasha kama weed. Mind you its recommended that you have someone watching over you since it changes your perception of reality. Took two puffs then it started, this one wasn't like 5D and was very manaegable but the issue is that I felt the right side of my body was a freaking wall. Nikiangalia na macho its my body but I feel ni ukuta. heavy and shit. I could still lift my hands and legs but time ilikuwa imesimama in this state. I started questioning if am even in my body or my surrounding, I was so afraid of moving from where I sitting because in my head at that time, I felt like my real body was in the real world na labda ata nimetoka nje ndethe haha, luckily my cousin was about to come and I waited for him so that I can really confirm am in the real world. After the effects died off, I was so grateful i was back to default because for a minute, I thought nimekuwa nut case.
Since Sunday I have this joyful glow (like a warm light shining on top of me) around me and every day I wake up so energetic and very happy and my depression is fully gone. I think nothing now will stress me to the point of depression because of how I feel. I feel reborn, given a new meaning in life and I think the 5D experience showed me the meaning of being a soul and being connected to the universe. For the remaining 5D stash, I will take another hit after 6-8 months and see how it goes otherwise, I will stick to normal pyschs like acid after my detox period of 2-3 months as I try to understand what I just experienced. Don't DM about the spiritual drugs I mentioned since I am not selling the remaining stash, research and you will find the information you are looking for on the web.

a long time ago the world was normal-sized. no bigger than Earth. it was ruled by the sorcerer king. He was a virtuous and wise king whose only flaw was his lacking a companion. He had no interest in the noble women. he saw them as boring and weak. he remained alone for years until he met a woman who caught his fancy.
She was the assassin sent to kill him. She had disguised herself as a maid and remained hidden, preparing for a day he would be caught off guard.
The king, of course, knew exactly who and what she was the moment she showed up. he simply didn't care. the list of people capable of killing him was two names long. lucifer and god.
One day while he slept, she struck. before her dagger could even touch his skin he was already behind her in a new outfit.
"you sure are patient. but not very quick. I had enough time to put on my robes while you were dilly-dallying."
She tried to activate the poison in her suicide tooth but was surprised when, instead of cyanide, she tasted blueberry juice.
"I replaced the poison in your tooth with fruit juice. I've been bored."
She looked at him with resolve. "ill never tell you who ordered the hit. No torture will break my spirit."
"I've already killed Duke Montesquieu. And the entirety of the black hand."
She looks unphased. "Your cheap lies won't trick me. you may have killed Duke Montesquieu but I've been receiving letters from the black-hand leaders for months."
"yeah, those were from me. You've been receiving letters from me. I've been receiving all the letters you sent back as well."
She watches as he opens a drawer and her letters begin pouring out.
"W-why? Why play along with this charade? Why not just kill me and be done with it?"
"As I said. I've been very bored. Tell you what. How about we both pretend this never happened? I'll keep pretending to be oblivious and you keep trying to kill me. If you actually manage to kill me one day you can have anything you want. Don't worry about being arrested I've already set it up so that whoever kills me gets all my stuff. it keeps life interesting."
She agreed and time passed.
Every day she tried to kill him in a new way. Every day she failed. She tried to kill him throughout winter and summer and spring and fall the holidays included. No day was off-limits. Not even their wedding day. Even the day she gave birth to their daughter had an assassination attempt.
This was how life was for the king. Many did not like the idea of a king marrying a commoner let alone a former assassin. But he couldn't care less. for the first time in a long time, he was happy.
This was until tragedy struck. One of the many people out to claim the bounty the king had placed on himself attacked. But unlike the rest, he didn't have the sense to make sure his family was out of the blast radius.
The attack killed his wife and daughter. If that pain wasn't enough there was also the fact that his wife was in hell for her past actions.
The king's life became consumed by the desire to rescue his wife and daughter.

by combining Magic and mystic arts something new was created. Heretical arts. From that point on he was known as the heretic king.
Heretical arts were immensely powerful. magic and mystic arts interacted in a strange way. when using them at the same time instead of working additively or multiplicatively they worked exponentially.
This allowed The king to open portals to heaven and hell to retrieve his family.
This transgression did not go unnoticed by Lucifer and God who decided that mankind was to be punished for their insolence.
What the people didn't know was that the death of his family and their subsequent rescue were orchestrated by the rulers of heaven and hell. All so they could have an excuse to invade the mortal realm.
As heaven and hell invaded the king did not send his army. He stood alone. He fought the armies of heaven and hell for 100 days without moving. God and Lucifer decided to step in themselves.
God and Lucifer teamed up and still could not kill the king easily. They fought for weeks until eventually, the king fell to his knees. He had long since discovered the two's plan.
God spoke. "you have fought well. But you are just a man. Your race is only fit to serve."
Lucifer spoke. "A mortal was never meant to hold such power. Your existence is blasphemous. how admirable."
The heretic king spoke. "Fickle and pathetic. That is all you are. But I am worse. Creation is mankind's birthright. I would never allow trash to have it."
He placed his hand down on the dirt. "The world shall remain forever unconquered."
Instantly magic began to flow from all corners of the universe infinitely empowered by mystic arts.
The planet began to shake as it grew and grew. For 100 days and 100 nights, the planet grew.
When it was finished growing it encompassed the entire universe. This single planet was now the size of the universe.
Mankind Barely survived the calamity. Most of them were scattered across the massive globe.
The angels and demons retreated.
Knowledge of magic slowly faded as societies were too scattered to communicate.
Humanity had devolved back into its tribal roots.

2023.06.06 17:13 Stopdropandletitgo Am I (F/20) wrong to flake on a roadtrip because I don’t feel compatible anymore
I paid for everything last night since our older friend was the one who paid for everybody and we all agreed to entransfer when we’re ready. Im aware it’s inconvenient and rude. They’ve changed everything about the trip (I never objected because I feel like the odd one out) like I only asked for hiking that was it and B” doesn’t want to do “real” hiking anymore. Meanwhile we’re going to a concert they like, going to Niagara Falls, beaches, etc which was their wishes. I’ve thought about this for a long time, I tried to learn about their interests and sometimes I pretended to like water color painting (you don’t understand, they go out everyday to watercolor and I feel like crap for saying no I’m busy all the time. I’m a people pleaser), or I learned the choreos to the K-pop group they’re obsessed with even though I don’t want to (it’s the gg Twice, and every time I hang out with them or have a conversation they’re either forcefeeding me their songs or declaring their love for their bias. THEY EVEN CHANGED THE TRIP PLANS to go to their concert when I worked hard to earn my parents’ permission thinking we were going to enjoy a nice vacation at the beach/mountains/city. I could’ve said no but again people pleaser I was the only one who wanted to say no) or spicy foods (I’ve literally like made it a point to train myself to eat spicy foods so I don’t have to burden them). There’s another friend in this group, B”, and I’ve recently realized we’re just friends by association with our mutual friend D” but one on one with me she can’t find anything to talk about so she pulls out her phone.
These two friends, A” and D”, have become one entity and I feel like I’m outnumbered. They’re attached to the hip, I can’t spend one on one because they have to be a package so I can’t even develop a stronger connection with them one on one. It’s like the group is always needed otherwise I’m too boring for them. They like everything the other likes, they can’t spend one day at home they always have to constantly be out doing something and I slowly realized I’m becoming more resentful with constantly having to say no and I have to remind them I’m in first year of university and they’ve graduated so I don’t have the time they have. I try to make time but it’s never enough for them. My ideal meetup would be like 1-3 hours but they expect me to give 5-8 hours and being a people pleaser I end up giving them the 6-8 hours after classes or work. I go above and beyond when I do make time for them because even though I spend only once a week I like to make it fun for everyone but it’s not fun for me anymore! I ignore it because I thought these feelings will go away if I just put more time and effort and it only gets worse. I hate feeling like I don’t belong anymore, that I have to catch up to the new hobby they’ve both acquired otherwise I feel like I’m burdening them and there won’t be anything to talk about, I hate feeling like a third wheel. Both A” and B” feels like they’re just hanging out to hang out with D” and it annoys me. I’ve become a terrible friend and I don’t want to feel like this anymore. They deserve better from me and I can’t even give it without feeling a secret resentment. This trip is the only reason I haven’t left the group
they’ve been amazing friends for 6 years, they’ve treat me with love and have given me many memories I’ll cherish forever. They do let me be myself, I share my interests in kdramas, with other kpop groups, reading, etc. So I’m not leaving because they’re terrible toxic people, I’m leaving because the friendship dynamic has changed and I don’t fit in it anymore
TLDR: I don’t feel compatible anymore, everything they do has become an annoyance to me and I fear if I go on this trip I’ll say something I’ll regret. I paid for my part of the trip!

These two friends, A” and D”, have become one entity and I feel like I’m outnumbered. They’re attached to the hip, I can’t spend one on one because they have to be a package so I can’t even develop a stronger connection with them one on one. It’s like the group is always needed otherwise I’m too boring for them. They like everything the other likes, they can’t spend one day at home they always have to constantly be out doing something and I slowly realized I’m becoming more resentful with constantly having to say no and I have to remind them I’m in first year of university and they’ve graduated so I don’t have the time they have. I try to make time but it’s never enough for them. My ideal meetup would be like 1-3 hours but they expect me to give 5-8 hours and being a people pleaser I end up giving them the 6-8 hours after classes or work. I go above and beyond when I do make time for them because even though I spend only once a week I like to make it fun for everyone but it’s not fun for me anymore! I ignore it because I thought these feelings will go away if I just put more time and effort and it only gets worse. I hate feeling like I don’t belong anymore, that I have to catch up to the new hobby they’ve both acquired otherwise I feel like I’m burdening them and there won’t be anything to talk about, I hate feeling like a third wheel. Both A” and B” feels like they’re just hanging out to hang out with D” and it annoys me. I’ve become a terrible friend and I don’t want to feel like this anymore. They deserve better from me and I can’t even give it without feeling a secret resentment. This trip is the only reason I haven’t left the group
they’ve been amazing friends for 6 years, they’ve treat me with love and have given me many memories I’ll cherish forever. They do let me be myself, I share my interests in kdramas, with other kpop groups, reading, etc. So I’m not leaving because they’re terrible toxic people, I’m leaving because the friendship dynamic has changed and I don’t fit in it anymore

This season is planned to go on for a long while before resetting, and we are mainly focused on creativity, building, and hosting fun events together as a crew! The group is very tight-knit, and we love hanging out in vc together!

We promise a mature experience on a server that has long term visions. Primarily we are a group of friends who are very dedicated to having a good time, and having a place to come relax after a long winding day at work or university.

- Private farms are greatly encouraged, as they drive trade and economic growth, but any big lag machines should have an on/off switch for when you’re not using them.
- We are using data-packs for quality of life improvements, but nothing too game altering, you can find the full list of packs at the bottom of this post.
- We take care of each other on the server, and so we are respectful and considerate of one another!
- Clean up! We try to keep the server pretty, so fix creeper holes and don’t leave floating trees around everywhere.
- No cheating, hacked clients, or x-rays will be tolerated, and we also don’t steal from one another. If you’re unsure about a mod you want to use, always ask!
- All redstone farms except for the ender ender and the gravity block duper are private. Please ask before using someone else's farms!
- Staying active is something that is important to us, so a minimum playtime of 3 hours a week is a recommendation so that we ensure server longevity.
- Labeling your builds is encouraged so we know who to praise! :)
