After scientists proved to be so correct on COVID, we need to trust the science on climate change too.

March 2021. Superior, Montana: 33 year old Rebekah calls the cops over a domestic violence incident. As a result charges are made against her husband for assault. She moves out with her dog Cerberus. A court order restrains both parties from having direct contact with each other.
Rebekah moves to Missoula an hour drive to the south west. Reports are that she got a place to live and a new job.
2nd July 2021: Council Grove State Park, 15 minutes Drive From Missoula
Rebekah is at the beach type shore of the Clark Fork River. Her car is in the parking lot. As she swims someone launches rocks at her and the dog. When she goes to her vehicle the windshield is smashed. As far as I know she did not see any sign of the person responsible.
She did assume it was the owners of the only other vehicle parked there. It was unoccupied. She left a note of complaint and took a photo of the licence plate. Since then it has been pretty much shown the incident had nothing to do with the owners of that vehicle. She stated she would report it to the cops but for some reason didn't.
20th July, 2021: in Superior, Montana
Rebekah and her husband (David) remain acrimonious and the court order remains in place. She wanted items from her former home. It was agreed that a third party would hand over the items. At 2.15pm she meets this person at the Town Pump gas station. Rebekah is believed to have driven to Alberton Rest Area Eastbound to exercise her dog there. This is about 25 minutes of driving, south east of Superior. It is said she had been to the spot before. The truck stop gives access to the Clark Fork River. A video on her phone later shows her doing this at 3.15pm.
(Later That Afternoon)It is said that an out of state witness finds Rebekah's belongings on the shore. They call 911 as there is no owner visible. The items are a cell phone, leash, baseball cap, keys, ID and a credit card. Highway Patrol take the call but when no easy explanation is apparent they handed it off to Mineral County Sherriff's deputies. Initial searches turn up no sign of Rebekah or her dog, Cerberus. In her car are found the items that she collected and her pistol.
Six Days Later: Cerberus is found 6 miles down stream ( west) of where it is believed he had been with his owner. It is determined he drowned. Due to the level of decomposition no other tests are felt worth the effort. the body is cremated.
Searches Since July: Both official and those carried out by the family have not turned up any more information as to what happened to Rebekah. The privately funded efforts have been extensive. They have included specialist voluntary organisations in Search & Recovery. The downstream stretch of the river has been scoured between the truck stop and Thompson Falls Dam.
The Mineral County cops believe that Cerberus got into trouble in the water and Rebekah went in to help, as a result she drowned. They say they believe it a 99% certainty that she is still in the water. There is no criminal investigation. They say they have cleared the husband of any wrong doing as in they have established an alibi. I have heard this is supported by friends who say he was with them.
Rebekah's mother and step father moved to Missoula to oversee the search. They are critical of the police not extensively searching on land as well as in the water. They point out that Rebekah had text friends saying threats had been made to 'kill the dog' and 'drive her truck into the river.'
They claim that the items were placed too neatly to fit the dash into the water theory.
They also claim that not all resources have been used that could have been used to find their daughter.
The Sherriff Mike Toth, points out that Missoula PD ( which has more resources) have been doing all that can be done. He said that the items on the shore had been picked up by the 911 caller as they looked at the ID and then they placed them neatly when they realised there might be an emergency call to be made.
A review of the police action is to be carried out by the Montana Department of Criminal Investigation.
Torn Missing Posters, Threats And Loose Ends
Someone has been ripping up missing posters around Missoula etc. The family hired a PI when they were threatened by telephone with having rocks thrown at them and arson. The PI claims on a radio show, and elsewhere, to know who has been doing this and he names them.
He also claims there are statements now held that show that not everyone has been truthful about what happened that day. He pulls up short of accusing anyone of killing Rebekah. He still allows for this being an accident, but points out there are serious inconsistencies that need checking out.
To be honest there is an awful lot on this case that this PI alleges. I don't name the people he talks about here, but all the information is in the links below. I'm just trying to do right by the moderators.
He makes very good points, especially about the earlier attack on her on 2nd July. He claims that everything he says comes from official sources and deposed witness statements.
Sherlock Holmes Type Mystery Or Simple Tragedy?
I really don't know. I do know this lady went missing and the family could do with finding out what happened to her. On the one hand the cops may well be right and it was an accident. The PI said that when he first took the case he believed it was probably an accident. Now he says he would only give it 50/50. If they have deposed the witnesses they say they have I would definitely say there is way more to this. What he says is in the radio interviews, so you judge if you have the time.
( one point that if you are like me you might wonder about: He has been paid a fixed fee, he is not billing by the day)

Accidents can be just accidents, also deliberate harm can be made to look like an accident can it not?
More searches are planned and a go fund me page exists. Whatever the situation the purpose of the post is to highlight a missing Montana woman whose family need her found. I'd like your views on this. Often they provide a new perspective.

On May 19, 2022 a body was found and recovered near the river; her family is awaiting results from dental records comparison and DNA testing. They were not allowed to view and identify the remains despite being willing to do so.
