Posting this for my boyfriend.
His daughter won’t willingly eat anything except for bananas, apples, plain white rice (but only when she asks for it, if we serve it to her she won’t eat it), one type of cereal, Doritos (only from a small bag she doesn’t like to share from the big bag), fruit snacks, carrots, applesauce, and Oreos. Literally nothing else.
We have tried being overly nice: only making her take one bite of everything, tried making her something else when she won’t eat, tried talking to her ahead of time to prep her for what we are going to make that day, we offer her whatever sauce or toppings she wants, etc.
She rejects everything, lies about being full and then immediately asks for chips, fruit snacks, applesauce, or dessert. She cries and cries at the table but as soon as we let her down or finally make her eat she will immediately stop crying as if she was faking it the whole time.
We try to make her specifically things we know she likes and asks for. She used to eat fairly well and only things like broccoli was an issue, but now “Mac n cheese is too cheesy” “I don’t like the pizza you gave me before anymore” “I am full”
We try not to use dessert against her but if we don’t, then she won’t eat anything and then immediately asks for dessert. Again, when she used to eat a little bit and liked more things it wasn’t as big of an issue but now that she basically only likes snack food we don’t feel comfortable giving her dessert after she hardly eats all day.
She is small, so we don’t expect her to eat a lot or to clear her plate. we try to take her on walks and have her get outside to help increase her appetite but she still will hardly eat and begs us for something else. Also frequently get hungry before bed and wants snacks.

She cries and demands and rejects food no matter what we try, so our attempts to discuss food with her ahead of time never works. We do try to let her pick her own meal every once in a while to give her a chance to eat something she enjoys without struggle, but that’s usually only breakfast or only lunch and only 1-2 times a week.
We are at a loss because this has been really difficult since she started lashing out about food, but there seems to be a deeper underlying issue since it came out of nowhere and she is also fighting us on her bedtime too. She’s always had a hard time going to sleep but usually reading to her and turning on all of her night lights helped but now she wants every light on and wants to stay up watching movies or playing with her toys. She will stay and lay in bed until 11 crying - he will try to check in on her multiple times and help walk her through breathing and tried to let her listen to calming kids night stories but she refuses to listen to them.
We have looked up tips and explanations but I guess we just want to know that we aren’t crazy, and we are curious how normal this is. Do we just give up and let her eat whatever she wants?

Apologies in advance for the omg-long post. It's breaking my brain.
I've spent so much time on fb marketplace and learning about castoff enterprise gear... and so much time researching components for a new build... and looking into nucs & tiny/mini/micros... I've learned so much but I just feel like a hungry person in a restaurant with a small novel for a menu. So many choices & options that look good and I just don't know the best way to go that quite nails it.
I'm hoping if I share my current equipment & use cases, the bottlenecks/issues I have, and what I currently think my desired outcome is... that you guys can point me in the right direction.
Thinkpad X1 Yoga 3rd Gen (i7 8650U, UHD iGPU) - "lives" at my desk in finished basement office space, travels as needed - used with Lenovo TB3 Dock (2nd gen) - Internal screen + 3 external monitors - Startech DisplayLink adapter used to make 3rd external (4th total) screen possible - zoom meetings & regular office-type / creator work happen here
Old Lenovo k450e desktop (has GTX 730 I think) - lives on other side of basement in "den" space, which doubles as home workout space - uses the den's led TV as primary display - only used for live 1 on 1 / group workouts over zoom, using OBS Studio to incorporate other needed elements to the stream - also can use one of the Thinkpad's external screens (via hdmi switch) for convenience so I can stay in one place to boot it up & open programs pre-session (takes... a while. it's old 😅)
QNAP TS-454A - personal NAS used for the typical *arr apps, Plex server, etc - currently has 12 TB usable, 1.2 free - dabbling with Docker, managed via Portainer. Actively using vaultwarden & paperless-ngx. Installed piwigo, homeassistant, nextcloud, etc, but haven't really done much with them yet due (waiting for more capable machine)
Idk if it's a good idea to do it all with one machine running proxmox to virtualize what I'm currently doing with the QNAP, and... virtualize my daily driver office computer (thinkpad w/3 displays)? Is that... totally stupid / not gonna work how I imagine? I mean... accessing my "office desktop" (prob win11 pro) remotely would be pretty nice... and I already do that with the NAS... 🤔
I'm worried a NUC-type machine might not be enough for what I do in the office space, but if I put all the oomph in the new server across the basement why wouldn't I just use that as the daily driver too?
If I do try to do it all in one machine, is an i5-13600k a good idea? overkill? Would I be able to do it in ITX form factor or do I need to look at mATX (or... ugh... do I actually have to go full ATX?)
Presently I'm trying to find a z790 (DDR5, 2.5G network, plenty of m.2 & sata) to use with an i5-13600k as an all-in-one solution. But I'm having a hard time finding the right thing. Am I even on the right track?

Current issues/bottlenecks:
- when in Zoom meetings on Thinkpad, can't do too much else or it'll affect Zoom. Makes it difficult to effectively multitask and use reference material, take notes, screenshare things, etc. Using OBS really taxes the system.
- used to use the Thinkpad instead of the k450e for the workout streaming/zooms using a CalDigit TB3 dock & that TV. Easy enough to just bring it over & use 2nd dock. Allowed use of OBS but just barely, and ended up with crashes/issues during a stream that led me to just use a separate machine
- k450e is a dinosaur, takes forever to start up or open programs, not sure where the bottleneck is but either way it's a powerhogging inconvenience I'd like to get rid of
- QNAP has served me well, but it's not very powerful and the integrated graphics can't do a whole lot in the way of transcoding for Plex. It also takes foooooorever to consume large doc files in Paperless, as well as taking a long time for other data-intensive tasks. Need something beefier, esp if I want to go down the homelab rabbithole & really play with homeassistant, set up nextcloud, and just generally "do all the things"
- I'm sure I could solve some of my issues by not driving 4 screens on the Thinkpad, but it's helpful for my ADHD to dedicate different screens to different purposes and be able to keep certain things in view (out of sight out of mind). I imagine with a new setup I'd just be running the 3 external screens (no thinkpad), which would be fine.
Desired new setup:
- need enough processing/graphics power to run OBS with multiple webcams, screen capture elements, would like to do chroma key (green screen), etc, and to be able to do it while also driving my 3 primary displays & whatever else I'm doing on that desktop/workspace concurrent with the zoom meeting
- would like post-processing for podcasts/audio in Reaper to not take a million years
- need a raid array for NAS, not sure if ZFS is the best option for file system or something else
- would like 2.5 GB networking
- would like enough oomph to be able to go bananas with homeserver things including lots of automation & camera-related things in homeassistant (looking at people/object recognition with Coral, etc)
- looking at Intel because quicksync for Plex. Plus, I know & understand Intel and would prefer to stick with that rather than AMD even though I think I'd love to have ECC memory (but do I even really need it?)
- would like to not consume a ton of power for the basic homeserver type things, which it'll do 24/7. I understand it'll consume more power when actively being used for daily office work, zoom / streams, audio & video processing, etc.
- really hoping for TB4 either on the i/o backplane or at least via PCIe & mb header
- DDR5 feels like a smart choice both for power efficiency and speed/oomph
- really don't care about RGB 😂
- need plenty of SATA because "lots of storage for cheap"
- wifi 6e is nice but a 2.5 gb hardline is fine, I can live without wifi... it's not going anywhere
- I like the idea of IPMI but I know that complicates things probably unnecessarily?
- I like the external LCD on the QNAP but I imagine that's something I can do without?
- Hotswap bays... something I thought was a must-have but probably really isn't.
- would really like to not spend a fortune. $400+ mobo and $400+ cpu make me hesitant.

I went last year around this time and it was horrible - we showed up early before opening and still waited 2.5 hours to get through the gates. Then because everyone was hungry, we waited 45 minutes to get cold Pizza Pizza.
Just trying to see if it is worth it to try again on this upcoming Monday.

2023.06.06 16:06 misplacedsoutherner JNMIL last day of visit. Always the victim, never the villain. Or so she thinks.
I do not give consent for this post to be shared outside of Reddit.
I'm finally able to update after my JNMIL and JNSIL visit from hell. Emphasis on the, "hell" part. Mostly because of them, partly because I ended up in the hospital on their second to last day here.
There was an incident while we were out and I got a really bad sting/injury (purposely keeping this vague because it's not a common occurrence and could give away my identity). I ended up going into shock and had to be rushed to the hospital via ambulance. It was without doubt, the most painful experience of my life.
I ended up being admitted to the hospital so my DH dropped JNMIL, JNSIL and her kids off at our house and then came back to be with me at the hospital. The entire time JNMIL was blowing his phone up asking when he was coming back because, "They were all hungry and what were they supposed to do about dinner?". Mind you, the fridge was fully stocked, they could've had pizza or other food delivered, but apparently, since they were so graciously gracing us with their presence, they needed every meal to be served to them on a silver freaking platter. He told her to figure it out and that he was busy. She called a few more times after that, but he didn't answer. I was seriously so proud of him lol! He left around 9pm and said he'd be back in the morning and to call if I needed anything.
Cut to the next morning. DH texted that he would be back at the hospital to see me at 10am. He was bringing everyone with him so they could all see me and then go to lunch before JNMIL and JNSIL left to go back home. 10am rolls around. 10:30am rolls around. I text him to see if everything is OK and he responds at 10:45am that they're walking out the door and his mom is, "in a mood". Oh yay.
They get to the hospital and it's obvious JNMIL has been crying. Is it bad that I really didn't care? I really didn't. And still don't. JNMIL immediately walks into the bathroom in my hospital room without even a glance or a, "Hi". Nothing. I ask JNSIL what happened and she said she'd tell me later.
Come to find out, DH told JNMIL starting at 8:30am that she needs to be ready to go by 9:30am. He kept calling out a countdown of how much time she had left every 10 minutes. When it got to be 10:30am, AN HOUR after he wanted to leave, he told her that if she wasn't ready in the next 2 minutes, he was leaving her there at the house and that he needed to get to HIS WIFE WHO WAS IN THE HOSPITAL. She made this big scene that he didn't give her enough time to get ready, why was he rushing her, blah blah blah. She told JNSIL that, "he screamed at me. He screamed at me for no reason!". JNSIL told her, "It wasn't for no reason. If it had been me, and my husband was in the hospital, I would've left your ass after 10 minutes". Oh to be a fly on the wall for that conversation lol! Apparently JNMIL then made some comment about how no one ever has her side and her kids were ganging up on her and poor her (barf).
No matter what, JNMIL is ALWAYS the victim. And I HATE people like that. She literally cannot stand if someone else has an iota of attention. I had a shoulder injury and was in a sling for one of our visits. Next thing we know, she's got a cane and is hobbling around. Even though she was walking just fine with no issues not even an hour beforehand. She saw my sling and had to make up some bullshit reason for her foot "suddenly" hurting so people would ask about her, if she was ok, etc. I'd rather not be injured and not have to answer questions about what happened, but then again, I'm not a psychotic attention whore who thrives off of drama and playing the victim.
Just wanted to put an update out there and vent a little more about how ridiculous JNMIL was on her visit. I shouldn't be surprised that she played the victim card, even though I was the one in the hospital and she had ample time to get ready. But my DH "screamed at her" for "no reason"?! Gtfoh.

I ended up going into shock and had to be rushed to the hospital via ambulance. It was without doubt, the most painful experience of my life.
I ended up being admitted to the hospital so my DH dropped JNMIL, JNSIL and her kids off at our house and then came back to be with me at the hospital. The entire time JNMIL was blowing his phone up asking when he was coming back because, "They were all hungry and what were they supposed to do about dinner?". Mind you, the fridge was fully stocked, they could've had pizza or other food delivered, but apparently, since they were so graciously gracing us with their presence, they needed every meal to be served to them on a silver freaking platter. He told her to figure it out and that he was busy. She called a few more times after that, but he didn't answer. I was seriously so proud of him lol! He left around 9pm and said he'd be back in the morning and to call if I needed anything.
Cut to the next morning. DH texted that he would be back at the hospital to see me at 10am. He was bringing everyone with him so they could all see me and then go to lunch before JNMIL and JNSIL left to go back home. 10am rolls around. 10:30am rolls around. I text him to see if everything is OK and he responds at 10:45am that they're walking out the door and his mom is, "in a mood". Oh yay.
They get to the hospital and it's obvious JNMIL has been crying. Is it bad that I really didn't care? I really didn't. And still don't. JNMIL immediately walks into the bathroom in my hospital room without even a glance or a, "Hi". Nothing. I ask JNSIL what happened and she said she'd tell me later.
Come to find out, DH told JNMIL starting at 8:30am that she needs to be ready to go by 9:30am. He kept calling out a countdown of how much time she had left every 10 minutes. When it got to be 10:30am, AN HOUR after he wanted to leave, he told her that if she wasn't ready in the next 2 minutes, he was leaving her there at the house and that he needed to get to HIS WIFE WHO WAS IN THE HOSPITAL. She made this big scene that he didn't give her enough time to get ready, why was he rushing her, blah blah blah. She told JNSIL that, "he screamed at me. He screamed at me for no reason!". JNSIL told her, "It wasn't for no reason. If it had been me, and my husband was in the hospital, I would've left your ass after 10 minutes". Oh to be a fly on the wall for that conversation lol! Apparently JNMIL then made some comment about how no one ever has her side and her kids were ganging up on her and poor her (barf).
No matter what, JNMIL is ALWAYS the victim. And I HATE people like that. She literally cannot stand if someone else has an iota of attention. I had a shoulder injury and was in a sling for one of our visits. Next thing we know, she's got a cane and is hobbling around. Even though she was walking just fine with no issues not even an hour beforehand. She saw my sling and had to make up some bullshit reason for her foot "suddenly" hurting so people would ask about her, if she was ok, etc. I'd rather not be injured and not have to answer questions about what happened, but then again, I'm not a psychotic attention whore who thrives off of drama and playing the victim.
Just wanted to put an update out there and vent a little more about how ridiculous JNMIL was on her visit. I shouldn't be surprised that she played the victim card, even though I was the one in the hospital and she had ample time to get ready. But my DH "screamed at her" for "no reason"?! Gtfoh.

Chef Gordon Ramsay was very excited to welcome back his final 10 Chefs to Hells Kitchen and said that it was time for all the Chefs to no longer shine as individuals but to shine as leaders. However, he said that today would not be about them but about their guests as tonight they would be cooking for a wake for a family, and Van said this would be a stressful challenge and service as it’s celebrating the dead and Kanae said she didn’t want to upset a grieving family. Ramsay said that the teams were doing a cold appetizer, a hot appetiser, a fish entree, a chicken entree and a steak entree, and Tara said this needed to be a big challenge for her having asked to rejoin the red team and Sabrina said she needed to start shining as an individual to prove these bitches wrong and that she belonged here. First up was Van and Kanae in the battle of the cold appetisers and Van’s scallop crudo beat out Kanae’s ceviche but Ed tied up for the blue team, beating Santos with his pasta dish. Elizabeth’s monkfish and Antonio’s salmon were both praised and scored a point and the red team took the lead with Tara’s chicken beating Giovannis, and Tara said no matter which team she was on she scored points. All the pressure was on Sabrina on the red meat entree but Sabrina overcooked her fillet and Nikki’s fillet was perfect to give the red team the win 4:2! Nikki said she was psyched to win the challenge for the team and Sabrina said she was sick of losing to Nikki in challenges.

Ed said the blue team had to make up for the bad challenge to have a great service and Giovanni on appetisers got the blue team off to a strong start with his risottos and pastas. Antonio was the floater tonight, supporting on appetisers and the meat station but despite his confidence, Antonio managed to burn 2 pizzas and annoyed Ramsay when he asked for time on a redo. Sabrina had started well with her seared tuna on the fish station and said it was her service to prove herself but she brought up 8 scallops instead of 9 for 3 orders with Ramsay asking Sabrina if she knew how to count. Sabrina then served badly seared scallops to push the kitchen back further and Ed said Sabrina hanging on by a thread at this point before Sabrina bounced back and the blue team finished appetizers. Ed on garnish tried pushing the blue team on entrees but Kanae on meat served an overcooked fillet steak and Kanae said she couldn’t believe she had made a mistake that early. Kanae fought back and Sabrina on fish annoyed Kanae by telling her to not let the team down. Sabrina was doing fish and chips which she was uncertain how to check when it’s cooked but after getting help from Antonio she got the first orders out. Kanae ended up running the meat station solo and got behind on the heavy chicken, lamb and fillet orders and a furious Ramsay told Antonio to leave the fish station and help Kanae out. Antonio brought up Kanae’s lamb which was raw and Sabrina then served raw fish for fish and chips, and Ramsay told the blue team they had to get their shit together. They finished the next tickets but Ramsay said it was a pathetic service at this stage and Giovanni said the blue team still weren’t working in sync and it was Sabrina’s fault they lost.

Santos and Tara did finished appetisers well and Tara felt she was proving herself as the leader of the red team. Nikki continued to have a great service and despite being annoyed at Tara’s attempts to help, she ended up appreciating it due to the high steak orders. Our farewell event is taking place at a beach restaurant, 80 guests total. From 1-6pm. Buffet style, with a pizza cart too. Rented exclusively for our party.
I have been negotiating price of our guest menu with them for the past few weeks, to which they agreed upon. Then, while reviewing the contract, I see they added in a €50 per person “Staff Menu” for our event.
I’m struggling to understand why we would be entitled to pay for the wait staff meals? Shouldn’t this have been worked into our rental price to begin with? I’m beginning to think they added this on after we negotiated the price to make up some of the difference. We’re extremely generous tippers, and them adding this onto the cost suddenly makes me feel a little reluctant to take care of them as well as we had planned to.
Also… it’s a 5 hour shift in the middle of the day. Who is going to be sitting down for a full blown meal while working our event? A good sandwich or salad in the area costs no more than €15.

Training
I am a 28F that has been a runner since high school (ran XC). I didn't run competitively in college but still continued running for my main source of exercise as an adult with an average weekly mileage of 5-15 miles. That changed last year when I started training for my first half marathon. I raced that in late February and felt great, being able to complete my first half in 1:47 on a flat course but with extreme rain and wind conditions (and taking a wrong turn, oops). I had a great time and felt that the weather conditions robbed me of a proper first race experience. While training for the half, I had been running most of my long runs with a local run club in which most folks were training for the LA marathon, so figured I was half way on to marathon training already. I took about a week and a half off after the half and began training for the full marathon the second week of March.This gave me about 3 months of training time. I did the NRC half marathon training plan and really liked the guided runs (especially the speed runs and the long runs with coach Bennett) so decided to do the NRC marathon training plan as well. I had to cut the first few weeks out due to time constraints (the full plan was 18 weeks, but I only had 13 until race day) but figured my base fitness was in a good place from the half marathon training so would be alright. I followed the plan fairly well and completed each week's long run and speed run. The main difference from the plan is that I only ran about 4 days a week while the plan included 5.
I did about 2 days of strength training each week as well (usually one day of lower body focus, one day of either upper or full body focus), incorporating at home YouTube workouts after runs.
About a month before the race, I started experiencing major knee pain in my right knee. I figured it was IT band related and took it easier on runs. I stopped running altogether the last week before the race in hopes it would heal.
Pre-race
I had been trying to adjust my sleeping schedule to waking up earlier to be able to be ready and rested for an early wake up for a 6:15 am start time. We arrived to San Diego the day before the race and got brunch at a local Mexican cafe where I ate pancakes and eggs. We checked into our hotel and relaxed for a few hours. I ate pizza for an early dinner at about 4:30 (I didn't want to feel too heavy during the race) and came back and watched some tv at the hotel. I turned in for bed at 8:30 and luckily fell asleep at 9:00 pm despite my nerves.I woke up at 3:45 and ate 2 pieces of toast with peanut butter and banana which is what I had eaten before all of my long runs during training. The only bad part which I hadn't planned for was that the hotel didn't have a toaster so I had to eat the bread without being toasted. It was drier than I wanted and I definitely didn't feel hungry but forced it down anyways.
I also didn't anticipate the start to be so chaotic. I knew there was going to be thousands of runners, but I showed up at 5:45 expecting to be able to use the port-a-potty at least once before the start. When I arrived at 5:45, the line was super long. I waited in it for about 15 minutes and it barely moved. I was still a block or two away from my designated corral so I made the decision to bail the line and hold my bladder. I barely made it to my corral (4) with about 2 minutes to spare before the start of the race.
Race
When I crossed the start line, I felt extremely excited and loved the energy from the other runners. I was prepared for the start to be crowded since the marathoners and half marathoners started together, but due to the corrals there was actually more space than I anticipated. From the start of the race, I had a lot of discomfort in my bladder and figured I'd have to pull over to the port-a-potty fairly soon.Luckily I had run the first few miles of the course a few weeks prior while visiting SD (and I used to live there) so I wasn't surprised by the rolling hills in the first 3 miles and felt good. I saw my family at mile 2 which gave me even more of a burst of energy but my bladder was telling me otherwise. I gave in and stopped at the next port-a-potty but unfortunately had to wait for one to be available. I probably lost ~2-3 min in the ordeal (during training I had stopped to use the restrooms during long runs and timed it would take about a min or so) so I knew I would have to make up for the lost time to reach my goal.
Despite that, I tried to start the first 3 miles on a slower pace. It was hard due to the energy of the other runners and spectators, but I tried to keep the pace slower knowing there would be many more miles to go.
I started feeling minor pain in both of my knees around mile 5. I was worried as this was super early on but felt great with my energy overall and told myself to keep going. By the time the marathoners and half marathoners broke off around mile 8, I felt great. I passed my family again at mile 9 with a huge smile.
Mile 12 started a descent downhill for about a mile. This is when the knee pain became overpowering. I had trained on hills but never such long, steep downhill portions on a slant. My knees were in A LOT of pain at this point.
I tried to keep pushing through the knee pain and was able to make it to mile 19 focused and at a good pace. I saw my family again which brought my spirits up even more.
Mile 20 is when things started to turn in a different direction. Although I had been fueling throughout the race (had 3 gels already) and drinking water at each aid station, I started feeling a bit light headed half way through mile 20. I was worried since I had never run more than 20 miles in my training but I knew I just needed to focus. At the next water station, I stopped to walk when I took it, and walked while I drank. After a few seconds of walking and getting myself together, I started running again. This was huge for me as I had never stopped to walk on any runs while training.
Mile 22 is when the gradual ~1.5 mile hill (~200 ft of elevation gain) began on the freeway. Of course the pavement was even more slanted than other parts of the course on the incline. At this point, the pain in my knees became unbearable and my right quad was extremely tight (almost to the point of feeling like it was completely cramping). I started walking and ended up doing a walk/run combo (walked about 3 times in total) for the remainder of the hill.
Once I got to the top of the hill, my knee pain felt so incredibly strong but I was determined to finish. After walking on the hill, I came to terms with the fact that I would likely not finish under 4 hours but I still wanted to finish with the best time I could. I had long lost sight of the 4 hour pacer and the last miles were a mental battle of wanting to walk but pushing myself to jog. Once I got to mile 25, I was determined to finish strong despite the pain.
It's probably cheesy, but I even made a hand catered playlist for the marathon in which I placed songs in the exact order of when I wanted to hear them. I knew that if I finished my goal of just under 4 hours, I'd hear a specific song (Congratulations by Post Malone lol) while crossing the finish but I ended up hearing the song on that playlist right after (which was disappointing). I was still proud and tried my best to go all out for the last .2
Post-race
I crossed the finish and immediately felt all of the pain in my knees and quads that I had tried my best to suppress. I hobbled down the finish chute and chugged a full bottle of water that was handed to me by a volunteer. I made it a few tables down and opened half of a banana when I put both hands on a table and felt frozen, scared to move for a few moments due to the pain. Luckily I heard my parents call my name through the crowds and I slowly made my way over to them. I felt so much better seeing my family.Overall, I was happy to finish. I knew I had signed up for a fairly hilly course for my first marathon but was still optimistic I could meet my sub 4 hour goal. Although mentally prepared that it would be there, I was still extremely humbled by the massive & brutal hill at the end. While I never felt any shortness of breath or physical fatigue at any point of the race (I had an avg HR of 163), the physical joint pain was something I had not prepared for. I'd definitely love to hear any feedback on how I could've done better (and open to answering any other questions). Now a day later, I know there was for sure some things I could've done better in hindsight:
- More core exercise: my core strength has always been weak and I did not do any additional training to improve it which I'm sure was a factor in my knee issues
- More single leg exercises: while I had been doing consistent strength training (and have always had naturally strong legs), I wasn't doing a lot of single leg focused exercises to holistically strengthen both legs and also a huge factor in the knee issues
- More longer distance runs: The longest run I did while training was 20 miles. I personally think doing a 22 or 23 mile run would've helped me mentally prepare for race day in terms of confidence and visualization of the last few miles
- Upping my MPW: I averaged about 25-32 mpw over about 4 runs during training. I think running 5 days a week or just a few more miles a week could've helped
- Prioritize recovery: I know sleep is key to recovery but I was averaging about 7 hours a night while training. Additionally, I wish I would've made an appt to see a PT about my knee pain when it started

My 3yo is considered high support needs and is currently non speaking/NV (but starting to learn an ACC device).
He used to eat around 30 different things. Over the last 16 months he has dropped each thing and we are now down to 2 things, sweet potato puffs and pretzel bites from Culver’s.
But, he’s starting to get sick of these and refuse them as well. I have nutrition meal replacement drinks prescribed to him to get his calories and nutrients in, but he still acts like he is desperately hungry on these drinks. He doesn’t act so hungry when he eats solid foods. He also seems kind of upset when I give him one. Like he wants solid food, but can’t tell me what he wants? Or he just can’t tolerate the textures?
Anyways, I would love any new safe food suggestions. These were his prior safe foods that he no longer eats: Plain waffles with syrup Cheddar cheese flavored pretzels Peanut butter pretzel bites Potato pancakes Pancakes Roasted potato bites Chocolate chip cookies Dino nuggets McDonald’s nuggets Sweet potato gnocchi Pizza with no cheese Pasta with red sauce only Tomatoes Smiley face French fries
I am totally out of ideas.

2023.06.06 01:14 Dr_Garp I don’t want to eat tonight. Should I lie to my girlfriend about the reason?
So my GF gets really worried when I don’t eat so she’s been feeding me a lot lately.
My issue is I’ve been feeling really fat lately. I’m 5’8 and nearly 155 but I prefer to stay at 150 or blow (I’ve had problems with body dysmorphia and bulimia so 150-155 is my mental safe zone). I feel like getting above 155 would leave me stressed and I just started a new job (a good job) and I really don’t need the added stress.
I would hit the gym but this job is throwing off my usual schedule so I feel weird having a new routine.
I don’t feel like stressing her out so tonight I just want to tell her the pizza I had at work left me feeling full so I’m not hungry, worst case scenario I’ll eat a honey bun or something light like a piece of grilled chicken with some oat meal.
Should I lie to her or just explain how I’m feeling? I really care and don’t want to lie but I’m worried about the way I’ll look. I’m scared to gain weight and I’m worried that this office job is gonna ruin me.

This maybe a shot in the dark. But just thought I'd try anyway. I have Crohn's disease and I've been sick in the hospital all week, finally going home today! Yaayyy! Would anyone be willing to help me with $30/40 to get dog food /crickets for my beardie(Mushy) and personal feminine items for my daughter's ages 14/16, maybe possibly a pizza tonight for the girls. I get paid Friday it's going to be a small check but hey I'm grateful it's going to be something. Just trying to get a small bag of food or something to last until I get paid Friday! Thank you to anyone who reads this
