2023.03.29 22:04 Huitzil37 How they should have used Urabrask to fix this story.
Now that we know how Phyrexia falls (Elesh Norn is the source of all the oil's power and without her it all kinda turns off) and what the Battle cards are (a whole series of planes heroically fighting off Phyrexian invasion) and what Urabrask did (not die but accomplish fuck-all) it's become really obvious that they could have done a LOT to fix this story, while maintaining almost all of the same beats, if they'd used Urabrask better.
Step 1: You cannot tell us at the last minute "oh yeah, the Oil is all running on Elesh Norn's power so when she dies it will turn off." We have to know enough ahead of time so that when it happens, we can go "ahhhh, I get it!" In order to not be a last second ass pull we need hints way earlier, which can help us in a lot of other ways. Show her gloating about how the Oil is synonymous with her will, how she focuses her power and mind into it to make it so incredibly powerful and infectious. Make it sound like "she is gloating about how All will be One through her but ohhhh actually it was her weakness too."
Step 2: use this to explain some rules about how the Oil works enough that we can understand fighting it. I have said many times that the Oil was too powerful and omni-infectious that a battle with the Phyrexians cannot follow rules, and I stand by that. Only maybe one or two of these Battle cards should show the planes repelling Phyrexia's invasion because the oil is so preposterously overpowered. It converts goddamn near anyone into a Phyrexian goddamn near instantly. If you touch the stuff, now you're one of them, immediately, and you can just go rubbing it on everyone else. Most of the characters we see depicted fighting the Phyrexians are having cool fantasy battle scenes, but those things shouldn't work and should immediately result in those characters being compleated based on how the oil works.
You can fix this when you make it explicit that the oil is so juiced up because of how much power Elesh Norn is pumping into it. The super-infectiousness is not a trait of the oil itself, it's a trait that Norn is empowering. All Will Be One and the oil is her will and, importantly, her focus. When fights break out in all these planes, we can then understand how those planes win: Elesh Norn's focus is split too many ways and the oil isn't as powerful on each battlefield. Her heralds or evangels or whatever are juicing it up on their own, but it's not nearly the same stuff. Now it makes sense why they can't mass-Compleat everyone in Ravnica instantly, they're split too many ways instead of pumping up one front.
Step 3: People have noted that invading all the planes at once was a bad idea for Norn, and it does appear to have been. It would have been an even worse idea if it was made clear that splitting her focus makes her less powerful. Why do that? This is where Urabrask comes in. Norn's original plan ISN'T to conquer the entire multiverse at once. She only plans to attack one plane, either Dominaria or Kamigawa, totally convert it, then with two planes worth of Phyrexia, take on two more planes, etc etc etc. She will be a slow and inexorable force that inevitably devours the multiverse.
But Urabrask, see, he's been in contact with the resistance because he's so rebellious, oh he's a renegade, and he comes back to Norn and says "Here, I tricked Tezzeret and the resistance and whoever else was appropriate to get this for you: some secret piece of information or technology or magic that will let you absolutely open the floodgates on the multiverse. They want to destroy us, and even though I hate you personally I don't want to see Phyrexia destroyed, so yiou have to think bigger. Way bigger. The only way to be sure nobody is going to try and rise us against you is to bum-rush the entire multiverse before anyone's prepared." Urabrask betrays the good guys! Oh no! We probably saw some characters put some kind of trust in him and he threw it back in their faces and now it's his fault the entire multiverse is under attack, that jerk!
Step 4: Norn invades the entire multiverse at once, starting the March of the Machine. Things look bad, casualties are mounting, cities are falling, but what's this? They're starting to fight back? They're showing off their own character and history in how they fight for their homes in their own unique ways? The Phyrexians are being held back? The Phyrexians are losing? Of course they are, that was what Urabrask was all about. He despises Elesh Norn and wants her to fail and then die. He also wants people to willingly accept phyresis. Despite being a cool bro, he is also a fundamentally alien monster with no sense of morality. Urabrask goaded Elesh into getting overconfident and haughty (a flaw white has) by playing on her emotions (a thing red is good at) and biting off way more than she could chew, because Norn's White ideology is about unity and cohesion and subsuming the individual into the whole while Urabrask's Red ideology is about freedom and individuality; his plan to fuck up Norn's forces by overcommitting shows us validation of his worldview because these planes are defending themselves to preserve their own identities and all these individual people doing things for their own reasons and own passions and own values can't be overcome by a singular will.
Then, of course, Norn finds this out and has his limbs chopped off and gets to establish she is still a threat by saying "I don't have to rush the multiverse any more, the taint of the Oil is still unstoppable and I have nothing but patience. We can slowly and inexorably grind them out on every world, as if we were a Death and Taxes monowhite strategy, they still can't fight us back and now there's far too many fronts open for them to deal with. At most, you delayed the inevitable because you're an impulsive idiot." This establishes that Norn is still a huge fucking multiversal threat that needs serious power to deal with, like Elspeth and Teferi. Urabrask doesn't solve the problem, his actions explain why the problem is in a position to be solved and set up the justification for how it happens.
After Norn's death, Urabrask has exactly what he wanted: he wants compleation as a step to personal perfection and self-realization that isn't forced on anyone. So the fact that just about every plane now has a huge puddle of Phyrexian oil that you can use but won't actively infect anyone is a huge win for him! The fact that trillions of people died in this war and he's leaving superweapons laying around for people to pick up and use on each other is completely inconsequential to him, because he's not a hero and he is a fundamentally alien mind.
This would be actually using the character they set up to do something with, it would show off the character traits of everyone and reflect their color philosophy, it would not require a significant change to the story outline and would not make him the star but a supporting character, and when we found out that everyone is saved when Norn dies it won't be a super convenient coincidence out of nowhere, it was information a character used to accomplish their goal. Urabrask could have died after this and we'd all be real happy with how it turned out.
Why am I the first one to think of this? The pieces are really, really obvious to assemble.

Hey what’s up I’m looking others to play games with. I can honestly say after 3 years of searching I have only about 4 people who I play pc game with. Well Imma keep trying and maybe I’ll find that one person who I can game with every once in a while.
A little about me, I’m from the east coast of the states so my time zone is est. I’m 21 I like to watch some good ole anime and like listening to music. I’ve Also been collecting video games and I can say I have a nice collection even though my most expensive games are the Pokémon games.
Well enough about me let’s talk about games. I won’t like right now the main game I’ve been playing has been overwatch 2. I play both ranked unranked and I am currently a silver 2 in damage. Some others games I own and play are Left for Dead 2, gmod, Tower unite, Osu, Deep rock galactic, phsmo, and I also own gamepass and I can’t forget to mention fortnite but no build. For osu I can really only do 4 star maps and I recently just bought deep rock so I don’t know much about it. I’m down to try some new games but I do have some I will not play. Those include mmos, cods but if it’s Cold War I’ll play that. I think that’s pretty much it but for parting words. DO NOT SEND ME SERVER INVITES. I’m actually building one myself and it’s a bit small right now but if you’d like to join I would really appreciate you.

2023.03.29 22:02 StepwiseUndrape574 GTA V Crowned Best-Selling Game Of The Decade, But Call Of Duty Dominates Top 10 List
The new decade has everyone feeling a little bit reflective, including fans of video games. The NPD Group, Inc. recently released a ton of information about the gaming market over the last ten years. This information included the best selling games of 2019 and the best selling games between 2010 and 2019. Grand Theft Auto V was the best selling game of the decade across all platforms, but the Call of Duty franchise truly won the 2010s.
The NPD Group, Inc. is a New York-based market research company that tracks twenty different industries. Mat Piscatella, a video games market research analyst, recently posted on Twitter the information that the company has gathered both over the last year and over the last decade. Grand Theft Auto V, with an estimated 110 million copies sold. However, the Call of Duty franchise may be the true MVP of the decade. Ten out of the fifteen most popular games in the 2010s were Call of Duty games. This includes the most recent addition to the franchise, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The best selling Call of Duty game was Call of Duty: Black Ops. The game was originally released in November 2010 for Microsoft Windows, the Nintendo DS, PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360, and OS X and was later released on mobile. There may even be a reboot in 2020.
Play
Several of the other best selling games of the decade are not a surprise. These games include Red Dead Redemption II, Minecraft, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Mario Kart 8, Battlefield 1, Battlefield 4, Destiny, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Star Wars Battlefront 2015. All of these games made a splash in the 2010s and some even inspired memes and their own cult followings.
The NPD Group, Inc. also released information about consoles. The Playstation 4 was the best selling console of the 2010s, while PS4 Dualshock 4 wireless controller in black was the best selling accessory. However, the Nintendo Switch dominated 2019. It was the best selling console of the year and Switch Pro controller was the best selling accessory.
call of duty modern warfare gameplay Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019)
The best-selling games of 2019 were a little more shocking. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was unsurprisingly the best selling game of 2019, but it was followed by NBA 2K20 and Madden NFL 20. They beat out games such as Borderlands 3, Kingdom Hearts III, and the Outer Worlds which were games that were generally better reviewed and received more hype.Games from series like NBA 2K and Madden NFL appear to have a strong, consistent fan base.
What can the numbers from the 2010s tell us about the video game industry? There have been a variety of interesting games that have come out in the last decade, but the most popular genres appear to be first person shooters and action adventure games. It also seems that many video game fans were drawn to the “open world” concept. Will these preferences continue to reign throughout the 2020s? NPD Group, Inc. reported that that video game spending in general declined in 2019, but it is still a major industry. What do you think HotHardware readers? What video game trends will be the most popular in the 2020s?

2023.03.29 22:01 MediaMelanie25 Watch THIS Wednesday March 29, 2023
| Happy Watch This Wednesday, Hive! How does everyone feel about last week's season premiere? We're all EARS for your ongoing questions, theories, and speculation. If you haven't already, check out the The Hive After Dark and our weekly recap episode, both available to watch or listen to in the usual places at YellowjacketsHive.com. Only a couple more days until we get Yellowjackets episode 202 - "Edible Complex." Stay-tuned for discussions here, of course. If you're in need of some other shows to watch while we patiently wait for Yellowjackets to return this week, here you go! Onto the shows... Missed this one - MUST-WATCH! - Swarm (Amazon Prime) premiered earlier this month and for some reason it wasn't on my radar. Well, now it is BIG TIME. Another TV podcast pointed out we may like it, and I'm SOLD! It's creepy, disturbing, and it even includes actual bee buzzing audio tracks throughout which is super creepy and strange and I love it. I had no idea Swarm was loosely based on true stories of internet rumors, including inspiration drawn from Beyonce's hive. Definitely worth the watch! I know it's good when I'm not even looking at my phone while I watch. Billie Eilish (who I also love) makes an appearance this season, and her character is based on a real cult. Between the buzzing, upcoming cult and creepiness - this is a must-watch for Yellowjackets fans. Prove me wrong... I'd love for us to cover this show with another TV podcast - contact us if that's you and then I'll just need to convince Emily to watch it {hint hint, co-host ;-)}.
Photo Credit: Creator: Warrick Page/Prime Video Credit: Warrick Page/Prime Video. Copyright: Amazon Studios Premiering picks of the week - Doogie Kamealoha, M.D. (Disney+) — Season 2 premieres on March 31. While this is the exact opposite of a series like Yellowjackets, my whole family loved the first season, me especially given I was OBSESSED with the original Doogie Howser, M.D. with Neil Patrick Harris. I literally had his poster on my wall as a kid. This is a cute watch, and it takes place in Hawaii which is my spirit location (like a spirit animal but a location, lol).
- The Power (Amazon Prime) — The show is described as "teenage girls suddenly and mysteriously develop a special power that allows them to electrocute people at will." SciFi isn't normally my thing (with exceptions), but this looks interesting and has Toni Collette and John Leguizamo in whom I both love. Thought the teenage girls would also appeal to Yellowjackets fans.
Upcoming premieres of interest (in date order) - Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Amazon Prime) — The final season premieres on April 14!! Here's a flashback to that time I actually bought the Tupperware placed in the show. Brilliant product placement with easy monetization! I love creative marketing.
- Firefly Lane (Netflix) — Season 2 part 2 will close out the series and will air on April 27, a couple of months earlier than planned. I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did (not a huge Katherine Heigl fan, but I do LOVE Sarah Chalke). Never read the book, but am considering it after the series ends at the recommendation of one of our readers/commenters from last week.
- The Afterparty (Apple TV+) — Season 2 premieres on April 28 and I can't wait for this one! Season one was easy to watch and very funny with a little mystery mixed in. It's an easy watch.
- Fatal Attraction (Paramount+) — Season 1 premieres on April 30 and I may try it.
Casual, weekly, and occasional watches - A Million Little Things (Hulu)— The final season is now in progress, new episodes drop weekly. It's moving a little slow which is even more indicative that it's a good time for this one to end. I feel like some of the storylines are contrived and just too forced. Looking forward to the end.
- Abbott Elementary (Hulu) — It continues to be a solid family watch. Comedy genius.
- Bel Air (Peacock) — Season 2 premiered and I've been watching with my husband and son. We enjoy it and look forward to the rest of the season, which now also features former The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star Tatyana Ali who is NOT be playing her former role of Ashley Banks. Note, this is an adult drama series vs. the original which was a family-oriented sitcom. The reboot was definitely made for adults and original fans versus made for a younger, current day audience.
- Bones (Hulu) — I randomly started watching this as background/filler TV when I'm doing laundry, cleaning, falling asleep etc. Great show and I can't believe I've never watched it! For a show about bones and murder, it's pretty funny!
- The Company You Keep (ABC/Hulu) — I'm absolutely loving it and look forward to watching each week. Definitely worth a try if you're in the market for a weekly watch.
- Daisy Jones & The Six (Amazon Prime) — If you've read my prior posts you saw that I enjoyed this but don't think it's as edgy as the book. I finished all of the episodes. It was definitely entertaining but just not as good as the book. There's chatter of a possible second season or spin-off, which is surprising given it was dubbed a Miniseries. If you haven't read the book yet, I HIGHLY recommend you do after watching and I can almost guarantee you'll enjoy it more than the show. Order it here. You can also listen to the actual album from the TV band! Brilliant marketing.
- East New York (CBS) — This one tends to be more background TV. There's a lot of overacting but overall the stories are watchable and I tolerate them. I can see this moving off of my list when the season ends.
- Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO) - John Oliver is one of our quintessential weekly watches, I love a good take on news with a comedy spin.
- The Last of Us (HBO) — WHAT A SEASON FINALE from a couple of weeks ago; I'm still reeling over it! I'm on the edge of my seat for a second season; Pedro Pasal and Bella Thorne are both just so incredible. Major props to this series adapted from a video game - something I never expected to fall in love with, especially since I swore off post-apocalyptic zombie shows after I dropped off of TWD in Season 8. I'll keep this one on the list for a few more weeks for those who may discover it here and opt to watch.
- Lucky Hank (AMC) — Loved the first episode, now I need to find a way to keep watching it as I don't have AMC. If you have it, let me know what you think of the subsequent episodes. "From the executive producers of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, Bob Odenkirk is Lucky Hank. An English department chairman at an underfunded college, Professor Hank Devereaux toes the line between midlife crisis and full-blown meltdown, navigating the offbeat chaos in his personal and professional life – oddly proving tantrums get better with age."— AMC Not to mention Mireille Enos from The Killing is in it! I LOVED LOVED LOVED The Killing and can't wait to see Mireille on my screen again with Bob Odenkirk who is also one of my faves. Rotten Tomatoes has it at 94%.
- The Mentalist (HBO) — My son has adopted this show as a new favorite so we've been watching it together a few nights a week. It's good, though dated; I've always been a fan of crime and detective shows so it checks that box for me.
- Mythic Quest (Apple TV+) — As someone who doesn't play video games at all I questioned whether or not I'd be into it, but it's more like The Office in that it's a comedy that takes place in a workplace. They just happen to be video game developers/producers which makes for an interesting story. The cast includes Rob McElhenney of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, along with Charlotte Nicdao as Poppy Li (LOVE her character), comic relief Jessie Ennis as Jo, and others. Worth a watch, there are 3 seasons in total, we're almost done with the available episodes.
- *NEW\* Nancy Drew (HBO) — Fun fact about me, one of my favorite possessions is a stunning full collection of the Nancy Drew books by Carolyn Keene. I acquired it after being interviewed by the seller to ensure I would not be turning around and reselling the collection. I passed the test! It's taken me too long to watch the series, but thanks to a nice nudge from one of my besties and fellow Nancy Drew fans, I finally started. I'm on episode 4 and loving it so far! It's a great balance of keeping some things from the book and making it more modern. There's a ghost element, but it's not "too much" — it's just right.
- Poker Face (Peacock) — Season 1 ended a few weeks ago but I'm going to keep this here for anyone looking for a new show. It's an easy one to watch, infusing a perfect amount of mystery and comedy into it. Natasa Lyonne is a freaking genius. A fun watch for Yellowjackets fans.
- Shrinking (Apple TV+) — Love this series, and the first season wrapped up nicely. Shrinking was renewed for a second season. I'll take this off of my list next week but will keep it for now to encourage others to watch. 5 Stars from me.
- *NEW\* Top Chef World All-Stars (Bravo) — The 20th season of this quintessential cooking show takes to London with worldwide contestants this season. I gave up on Hells Kitchen seasons ago, but have generally kept up with Top Chef*.* I love Padma, Tom, and Gail!
- True Detective (HBOMax) — My husband randomly put on Season 3 a few weeks ago and I'm in! I enjoyed the first season but never got into the second. I just can't stay away from murdery shows. We're casually watching when we can.
- True Lies (Paramount+) — I only watched this one because Steve Howey (Kevin from Shameless) stars in it. The first episodes are okay, but it didn't draw me in quite the same as another recent premiere (kind of similar) The Company You Keep did. Some movies should maybe be kept as movies was my first thought. Still haven't got past episode 3.
- Survivor (CBS) — Season 44 started on March 1 and wow what an interesting group of contestants! I'll drop my projected winner here soon.
- UnPrisoned (Hulu) — Season 1 premiered on March 10, starring one of my favorites, Kerry Washington! The pilot was good, I enjoyed it, but did find myself scrolling a bit. I've been watching subsequent episodes in the background and it's not bad, just not exceptional either.
- Will Trent (Hulu) — I've gotta say I have gone back-and-forth on this show, but it's a now a permanent fixture in the weekly watch category. This past week's episode was a good one!
- Wynonna Earp (Netflix) — A friend of the podcast is part of this fandom and introduced me to the series, and I'm still pretty early into it but it's a fun watch. If you were a Buffy person, odds are you will love this.
- Yellowjackets (Showtime) — Season 2 made its triumphant return on March 24 for Showtime app subscribers and March 26 everywhere else, with times noted above. Rotten Tomatoes has it 100% certified fresh! Be sure to connect with us at YellowjacketsHive.com for updates and our recent content for you to consume. LEND US AN EAR, WILL YOU?
- You (Netflix) — After taking this off of my watch list, I decided to give it another shot with You's 4th season after I had a hard time getting into the first couple of episodes. I'm glad I did; the twists have been enjoyable and I still have a lot to go. I guess Joe Goldberg is just too hard to give up...
New & other shows I plan to watch but haven't had time: - *NEW\* Class of '07 (Amazon Prime) — Season 1 premiered on March 17 and this one wasn't on my radar until my friend Shari of TeenDramaWhore texted me the trailer and commented, "This looks like the comedy version of Yellowjackets," so naturally here I am adding it to my list! I put the first episode on the other night and fell asleep, but that had less to do with the show than it did my stress and exhaustion from that particular day (IYKYK...). I will try this one again, for sure.
- The Flight Attendant (HBOMax) season 2 — Is it even worth it? I heard it wasn't great...
- Jack Ryan (Amazon Prime) — I absolutely loved the first two seasons and am eager to get caught up on season 3. While I had initially thought I'd only ever see John Krasinski as Jim on The Office, I've gotta say he's rocked the role of Jack Ryan, the total opposite of Jim.
- *NEW\* The Night Agent (Netflix) — Season 1 premiered March 23 on Netflix. "While monitoring an emergency line, a vigilant FBI agent answers a call that plunges him into a deadly conspiracy involving a mole at the White House." I'll give this one a go - though with True Lies and The Company You Keep, I fear it may be one too many action shows in my rotation (though Netflix does coin it a "mystery, the trailer look very action-y.)
- *NEW\* Rabbit Hole (Paramount+) — Season 1 premiered on March 26. According to Paramount+, "Nothing is what it seems when John Weir (Kiefer Sutherland), master of corporate espionage, finds himself at the center of a shadowy conspiracy." I love Kiefer and this seems to be right up his alley given his time on 24 and Designated Survivor.
- Restaurants at the End of the World (National Geographic / Apple TV+) — Season 1 premiered on March 21. Kristen Kish (whom I loved on Top Chef) hosts, and "travels the world in search of the people, places, culture and traditions behind the world’s most remote restaurants." This will be a great background show once I start.
- Succession (HBO) — I've only watched a few episodes but it's been on my list to binge. Apparently I didn't get it watched in time for the season 4 premiere which happened on March 26. This season will be the last one for the series. Succession has won 13 Emmys and continues to be the talk of the TV town, I've gotta get on it! With them out of the way, hopefully that will open up some Emmys opportunities for our beloved Yellowjackets.
- Truth Be Told (AppleTV+) season 3 — Can I watch season 3 without having watched season 2? I just couldn't get into the last season.
- *NEW\* Up Here (Hulu) — Season 1 premiered on March 24. Now, I'm not normally a "musical rom com" person, but I do adore Mae Whitman from her days on Parenthood (that and Brothers and Sisters were my This is Us before This is Us) so I do plan to watch and see if the pilot draws me in enough to continue. My husband is not into musicals, so I'll really have to find time to fit this one in.
New season release dates, some TBD, all on my radar*: - The Bear (FX/Hulu) — Good news! We finally have a teaser and season 2 premiere date! There are 10 episodes coming at us this summer, and I cannot wait!!
- Cobra Kai (Netflix)
- Cruel Summer (Hulu/Freeform) — It looks like we can expect season 2 this summer, plenty of time to catch up on season 1!
- The Handmaid's Tale (Hulu)
- The Morning Show (Apple TV+) — Based on our Google search, "Apple TV+ hasn't released an official release date for The Morning Show season 3. Filming just wrapped on February 9, 2023, so you can likely expect season 3 to premiere in mid to late 2023"
- Only Murders in the Building (Hulu) — We plan to cover this series in a podcast crossover episode coming in the next month or so. Stay-tuned!
- Severance (Apple TV+)
- Virgin River (Netflix) — Rumor has it Season 5 will premiere in July 2023.
\If you've seen news on premiere dates for these please comment and drop a link!* Coming off of my watch list Nothing to report here this week.

2023.03.29 22:00 autotldr Egypt seeks to boost tourism with new 5-year visa
This is the best tl;dr I could make,
original reduced by 47%. (I'm a bot)
The Egyptian government is releasing a new multi-year visa for tourists and visitors in a first-of-its-kind visa policy, according to the country's Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Issa.
Under the new policy, a five-year multiple-entry visa will be available for purchase and will go for $700, while a single-entry, 30-day visa on arrival will be available for visitors from more than 180 nationalities for just $25. More countries will also be added to the visa-on-arrival eligibility list, including China and India.
In 2022, 11.7 million tourists visited Egypt.
The North African tourist hub intends to increase that figure by about 30 percent every year and have a yearly influx of up to 30 million tourists by the year 2028.
Minister Issa expressed confidence that Egypt would reach the Year 2023's target of having up to 15 million tourists - a record figure if it ever happens.
In the coming weeks, efforts will have to be made to accommodate the projected influx of tourists, including investments in hotel and accommodation, the airline industry, as well as investments in advertising and promotion in order to provide the best experience for future visitors to Egypt.

2023.03.29 21:54 romantica_incurable My bff is cheating on her boyfriend and I'm uncomfortable?
As the title says, my (23F) best friend (23F) is cheating on her boyfriend (24M) of 4 years with someone she met at work.
She has been my BFF for over 15 years and she recently confessed to me she was cheating on her bf with a coworker. We had actually gone to a bar waaay before that, with her coworkers and I noticed that guy was a little bit touchy with her. She was fine with it. I didn't think much of it at that time because she had told me that she was keeping strict boundaries with him since he liked her.
Now, a month ago she came to my place for wine and she confessed she had been cheating for over a month. He also has a gf. They get together in secret, at work, at his place, hotels.
When she told me, I tried to be understanding and tried not to judge her but it felt wrong. I'm not close with her bf but I really like him, he seems like a really good guy who treats her well.
Don't get me wrong, I love her to pieces, she has always been a great friend. I just think she is making a huge mistake and it's not fair for her bf or herself.
Ever since she told me, I've been avoiding going out with her and her bf, even going out just the two of us I avoid it.
Her birthday is coming up and I'm not going to miss it, but I still feel weird about the whole situation and don't know how I should handle it.
TL;DR - my BFF is cheating on her bf and I feel weird about it, to the point of avoiding her.

2023.03.29 21:48 roberb7 Iterative Strength Rating for March 29
| Rating by u/1boydnation. Full list here (updated daily). The top eleven teams are similar to a week ago, but there has been some shuffling. Southeastern has moved from #3 to #2. The big jump was Benedictine-Mesa moving from #20 to #8; they won five games last week, one of them against #19 Arizona Christian. Eastern Oregon continues as #1 Strength of Schedule. I feel a need to put in a word for them; they are not as bad as their 1-23 record. If you take a closer look, they have had a lot of close losses, and a lot of games that got away from them in the eighth and ninth innings. I would be willing to bet that they could beat Alcorn State and some other low-level D-I teams if they played them. They have a game at Central Washington next month that could be interesting. Another anomaly I've caught; Concordia-Ann Arbor has an impressive 23-1 record, but their ISR ranking is #57. That's because their SoS is a very low #182. And unfortunately for them, they have few opportunities to improve this; two games vs. #41 Indiana Tech, and a game at D-I Central Michigan on April 5. https://preview.redd.it/x3wooxpkfqqa1.jpg?width=905&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9d87cd839a2ac8595692184e3ac9ec552c6adcd5 submitted by roberb7 to CollegeBaseballNAIA [link] [comments] |
2023.03.29 21:47 woyzeckspeas According to the Fantasy Companion, the average pocket money carried by a group of bandits translates to roughly $38,000 in the real world.
The FC's Treasure chapter has a rollable loot table, divided into tiers from "meagre" to "treasure trove." A Meagre roll is described as "Treasure carried by a group of bandits or found in a minor monster lair." In terms of hard cash, players get d10 x $100, for an average of $500.
So, how much money were those bandits really walking around with? In other words, what can you get with $500 in the Fantasy Companion? Here are a few answers:
- 20 katanas. Real-world value: about $100,000 (I tried to go with "functional" katanas, not cheap models)
- 7 months at a common inn for a party of five. Real-world value: about $75,000 (I went with travel hostels, not hotels)
- 7 riding horses. Real-world value: about $21,000 (I tried to pick an average; there's a huge price range for riding horses)
- 100 days' pay for a Fighter hireling. Real-world value: about $44,000 (this would probably be higher, considering I went with the salary of a basic security guard who wouldn't be inclined to follow you into danger)
- 5 chainmail suits. Real-world value: about $37,000 (chainmail suits are used by shark divers, apparently!)
- 50 battle axes. Real-world value: about $5,000 (I went with heavy wood-splitting axes)
- 20 rapiers. Real-world value: about $4,000 (I went with fencing foils)
- 167 javelins. Real-world value: about $46,000
- 17 short bows. Real-world value: about $5,000 (I went with recurve bows)
- 10,000 arrows. Real-world value: about $40,000 (Amazon sells arrows for about $4 a pop)
- 1/8 of a +1 short bow. No real-world equivalent for magic items.
These examples suggest a gang of bandits carries the equivalent of $38,000 in real-world money. Obviously, all of my estimates are pretty shaky. But there are some interesting conclusions:
- Lodging and travel prices are so cheap that it suggests the authors don't want us to track them at all. For my lodging example, I went with the $0.5/night room, but there are others as low as $0.25/night.
- Standard gear is also very cheap (especially ammunition -- look at those javelins and arrows!). One Meagre treasure roll could outfit everyone in the party with their choice of weapon, or five suits of chainmail. Plate mail is somewhat more reasonable: one suit costs $500. Fancy crossbows get expensive, too -- much more expensive than fancy melee weapons.
- The price jump from standard to magic equipment is enormous: a short bow costs $30, while the cheapest magic short bow (+1 to Shooting) costs $4,000.
- Keep in mind this is the lowest tier on the treasure table. The next tier up ("Substantial") multiplies all of this by 10x. Yes, I would consider 70 horses pretty substantial, indeed!
- Also keep in mind that the Fantasy Companion's Strongholds cost nothing. PCs get a castle or tower for free, it costs nothing to maintain, and it "levels up" as they gain advances, at no additional cost.
With all of that in mind, I'm honestly not sure what PCs are meant to be spending all their money on. It seems the pricing rationale of the game is, "Don't worry about the price of anything other than magic items."

2023.03.29 21:43 red_kizuen Thanks Crytek, very fun change!
| Took us only 15 minutes to camp 2 solo players which we killed in first 2 minutes of fight. As you can see other 2 teams on the map got bosses and solo players killed us plenty of times before that so we just went to extraction after we burned them. Yep, very fun. On event you heard when solo player left the game which, as turns out, saved tons of time. https://preview.redd.it/vstx5bgi8qqa1.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=045e797e64e94fdc0c8b6baa9023d721c505d2f1 P.S. to people that say "just don't camp him bro!!": its low 5 star elo (4.5 star to be precise, but everyone was 5 star in lobby, except those 2 solo players which were 6 star). We won't risk keeping solo player in our game which we already killed . Solo player that can still self revive plenty more times and solo player which has 70% of our total team kda. submitted by red_kizuen to HuntShowdown [link] [comments] |

Hi all,
I've been planning this trip for a while and was really hoping to get some feedback on my itinerary. I have not been to Japan since 2000 and was a kid, spent most of that trip doing more low-key areas around where my aunty lived in Fujisawa (Yokohama, Enoshima, Kanagawa etc.) so now I want to do a classic golden route. It will also be my boyfriends first trip.
I recently had to stop taking my ADHD medication so my brain has become incapable of getting my shit together on this, so more than anything would love if people would kindly help answer the logistical questions and request for recommendations at the bottom of my post!

- Sanja Matsuri – Could anyone help me on how I best experience this? Where to be and when for the parade? How late do festivities usually go on this day after main parade?
- Is it better to travel direct to Hakone from Osaka, or travel back to Tokyo and transfer to Hakone to use the Hakone pass? Would like to book a romance car for return to Tokyo, when and where is the soonest I could do this?
Showa aesthetic/Kayokyoku music/cream soda’s – Anyone got any recommendations for some retro spots? Murals/buildings with this aesthetic? Cute café’s/Kissaten? Bars/clubs with this kind of music/vibe?
Would love people’s best Gasha/arcade/photobooth recs other than GiGO chain/Purikura (Harajuku) /Gashapon Kaiten (Akiba)

2023.03.29 21:42 squonkx Best portuguese cuts?
| Hi all! I'm looking to get a portuguese cut moissy ring that's around 7.5mm. I love this one from caratdiamond on Etsy, but I'd like it colourless. The pictures from Etsy seem like they're copy and pasted across companies. Although the reviews look good, I'm still a bit worried. Does anyone have any advice on where to get the best portuguese cut rings? I've considered Mona and others on the reputable sellers list, but I don't really want to go down the custom/CAD design route. submitted by squonkx to Moissanite [link] [comments] |
2023.03.29 21:40 Summerwaffles Buying into DVC - Questions
Hi everyone -
I have been looking into DVC for a few years now. After returning from a 5 day trip to WDW with family, speaking again to a DVC guide and researching here on Reddit and other websites, I am now seriously considering buying a contract... more so than ever before. I would consider 150-200 points in maybe AKL that I would use at least once every year or two. If I don't do Disney one year, I would bank points for the following year for a longer stay or for a nicer resort.
I am going to finance this but would be able to pay it off within 3-4 years. I have read all about why some people feel like you should never ever finance something like this but, sorry, I don't have $25-$35K just sitting in one spot and ready to be used. I feel that having this now, even if paid off in 3-4 years with some interest, will save money in the long run and guarantee family/friend experiences, memories and traditions that last a lifetime.
I do have some questions as I make this decision:
- If I purchase through resale, what resorts can I not use my points for? From what I understand, If I purchase resale at Riveria, I can only stay there. If I purchase resale at AKL, I can only stay there and some other resorts but not ever at Riveria. Is there a list that exists explaining all of these?
- Are you able to you your points for non-DVC properties? For example, this recent vacation was booked at the very last minute (I'm talking booked on Friday night and flew out Tuesday morning) and I ended up with two adjoining rooms at Coronado Springs. With DVC, is it possible to use points elsewhere?
- If you bought resale, can you still exchange points in the DVC portal for non-Disney hotels if that need arises?
- Is there any true benefit to purchasing direct vs resale? I don't consider the dining/merch discount a benefit since that is available with a Disney Visa card. The special events for DVC members is also not too appealing since it would have to happen to fall when I can vacation.
- Is renting out points something that can realistically be done to cover annual fees if you are not using them in any particular year and not planning to bank them?
- Use year - I understand this to be which month of the year your points will be deposited and available for use to begin planning. Are there are any use years that are preferable / not preferable or is it all pretty much based on the individual?
Thanks in advance for all your insight!

2023.03.29 21:38 teh-calf Sports cars
Hi all,
As I was driving to my hotel I noticed some rare Japanese cars. Does any one know the locals that drive them? I would love to pay for someone's gas and get a ride. We don't have those in the U.S. Especially the older Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 4 I think I saw. I also saw a white Nissan R32 or R33 Skyline GTR.
Thanks!

2023.03.29 21:37 StepwiseUndrape574 GTA V Crowned Best-Selling Game Of The Decade, But Call Of Duty Dominates Top 10 List

2023.03.29 21:33 Worldly-Animator-288 Celtic Cross reading help!!
Hi everyone, this reading is about if my abusive relationship with my mother can ever change.
- The High Priestess. 2. Page of swords. 3. Nine of Swords. 4. Nine of cups. 5. The Star. 6. Seven of cups. 7. Two of cups. 8. The Devil. 9. Ace of Swords. 10. The Fool. Clarifying card is Death.
Here's what I got from it, but not sure if I'm confident with my interpretation.
The first several cards are clearly picking up on some negative emotions inside that come from a lot of trauma from our relationship. The nine of swords says a lot, it's showing just how bad our relationship is affecting me. The seven of cups in future position is telling me to stop procrastinating and actually do some work to move me and my family out of her house and get away. I've been really bad about just talking about it but not doing the work. The two of cups in the you position shows that I'm desperate ro have a relationship with her and bond as mother daughter. The devil is the other position, how others see you or the other side of the story. Wasn't too sure how to interpret that except that my mom is making me out to be the abusive one but I know it's gotta be deeper than that. Lastly the fool is the outcome and I think it's telling me to take that risk and get out of her house and reconnect with my inner child again.
What do you guys think? There were two nines side by side, what do you think that means?
