2023.06.07 18:13 bishoptf Repatha, not lowering numbers
Long story but I have had *cough* some heart issues and had to have bypass surgery Cabgx2. So you can imagine that my Cardiologist wants my LDL to be as low as possible and originally had me on the highest dosage of Atorvastatin then tried Rosuvastatin and I both caused me issues, just made me feel super fatigue etc, tried off and on for months, stop and feel better etc..So He decided to have me try Repatha which I have been taking since first of the year after all the insurance wrangling etc...I've never had High cholesterol or what would be considered high, LDL was always around 110-135, when I was on the high dose statin LDL was around 75 but now that I have stopped the statin and only on Repatha I've been checked twice and my LDL both times came back 95, lol.
Here are the numbers:
https://preview.redd.it/4kt7bhf3cm4b1.png?width=1277&format=png&auto=webp&s=78e6c25e8fe10693b6d893f619fdee28f385750e So in light of this he wants me to try to go back to a statin in addition, but from what I can see Repatha appears to not be working at all for me so why continue, it's very expensive and I've not had any side effects but maybe I am the only one but its supposed to really lower LDL, lol. I am trying a different statin a low dosage of generic Zocor and see if I can handle that but really was hoping to not have to do anything additional, any one else have Repatha or the equivalent not lower their numbers?
He wants my LDL below 70 and really would like them much lower than that...

My fellow scrubbies! (scrubbers..? scrub squad...?)
I need help identifying a moment in the series, if could please provide the chapter or, better, a video link to the scene in question:
All i remember is one of the main underling characters, i don't think it's J.D., probably Turk, but it could be either of them or Elliot, and they are looking I think at the board with their names and they have been replaced or something... anyway, the funny moment is Kelso looking at them being down for whatever happened and he goes: "You should have taken my adviiice..viice.....viiice...." as an echo as he walks away.
I low-key just want to have that as a gif to send to people that know the show.
Can y'all help me? That'd be much appreciated!

2023.06.07 18:12 aynasizboy Tweeter too quiet on passive Tannoy?
I recently encountered an issue with my beloved passive Tannoy PBM 6.5 II speakers and I'm seeking some experienced insights and possible solutions. After a period of non-use, I set up my speakers again only to discover that the tweeter on one of them is producing an extremely low volume. Strangely, when I connect the tweeter cables to the woofer, I can hear a decent amount of trebley sound with the necessary amplification. Based on these findings, I guess this suggests that crossover works as intended, but tweeter may not. I've tried reaching out to Tannoy suppliers in my country for assistance, but unfortunately, I couldn't receive much help so far. This is an old pair of speakers, so procuring a replacement tweeter should cost a lot. For this reason, I seek to try to repair the unit before replacement. I'm really hoping that some of you knowledgeable folks here could shed some light on the possible cause of this issue and suggest potential fixes. These speakers hold a special place in my heart, and I don't want them to go to waste. If any of you have encountered a similar problem or have any recommendations on how to resolve this, I would greatly appreciate your input! Thank you in advance for your expertise and support. Looking forward to hearing your insights! Cheers,

2023.06.07 18:12 heisenberg__98 24M (Michigan, US) Exhausted from being alone and having no one to have deep talks with.
As an immigrant student, it hasn't been easy to make friends here. Adding to that challenge, I study at a commuter campus, making it difficult to maintain relationships and meet new people. I would love to explore new cultures, make friends from diverse backgrounds, and seek meaningful opportunities. Most importantly, I value emotional support. I lack friends I can hang out with in person, so I hope we can eventually meet up.
Recently, I've been into watching anime. I finished Haikyu and I'm currently watching One Piece (although I still have a long way to go). I'm also a movie buff and enjoy crime and thriller genres. Have you seen the latest Spiderman movie? If not, I highly recommend watching it.
I enjoy watching sports like Formula 1 and the NBA, but I also love playing various sports. I used to play badminton and basketball, and I've been wanting to try tennis for a while.
When I'm feeling down, I find solace in lifting weights or doing cardio. Since I can't go to the gym, I work out at home. Maybe we can even have our own virtual gym sessions!
As a computer science student, I've recently started getting into competitive coding. It would be great to work on projects together or simply share new technologies and experiences.
I've also picked up reading again, currently diving into "12 Rules for Life." I'm open to fiction or romantic book suggestions. We could be book buddies, although I have to admit I'm a slow reader and tend to lose focus easily.
Cooking is one of my passions. There's something deeply satisfying about creating a dish for others to enjoy.
I'm a big music fan and enjoy various genres like hip-hop, pop, rock, R&B, trap, alternative, and electronic/house. Post Malone's songs really resonate with me, and I hope to attend one of his concerts someday. I also enjoy watching random YouTube videos.
In terms of gaming, I've played Dota 2, Destiny 2, NBA, F1 2021 (I had a simulator), and Battle Royale games. While it's been a while since I last played, I'm open to trying out new games.
Lastly, I've always had a fondness for Legos, puzzles, and cryptic messages/games. It would be great if we could share memes or vines. I mainly use Instagram, but I'm also open to using Discord.
I've had my fair share of challenges, and I'm currently going through a phase. Initially, I'd prefer not to discuss it, but I wouldn't mind sharing deep secrets. I'm emotionally vulnerable and value friendships where I can be my true self without pretending or hiding my emotions. While I'm seeking something platonic, I'm also open to connecting on various levels.
I'm looking for someone who can hold engaging conversations, whether through long texts or speaking. However, please understand that it takes time for me to feel comfortable, so let's not rush into voice chats right away. I'm a supportive friend who enjoys recommending helpful things and being a listening ear. Deep conversations matter to me, as there's more to friendship than simply discussing problems. I prefer exchanging long, well-thought-out messages rather than short ones.
Kindness, respect, communication, consistency, and thoughtfulness are crucial qualities I value. I expect open availability for chatting, considering that schedules differ. I always make sure to respond to people I enjoy talking to, and I appreciate the same in return.
Feel free to reach out to my DM's!

2023.06.07 18:12 powideai I felt Amphibia S3 really stinks as a whole, while "All In" & "The Hardest Thing" were god awful episodes to say the least... Yes when compare to SVTFOE S4 & TOH S3 seems the least bad, I totally not enjoyed those last 2 episodes...
As me & other fans were pissed+disappointed at rock bottom level that no 2020AD US gov+US military declares war on revenge to Amphibia or 'liberate' Amphibia in the name of 'democracy' & 'freedom' from Core+Andrias monarchy dictatorship regime by using could've been captured Calamity Box+Gems from Newtopia Castle above LA, Cali in "All In" WAY before Anne & friends teleported back there...
Cause "Frog-vasion" seems to be the 2nd time America got invaded by a foreign power since the British Empire invaded in the War of 1812 with surprise strike like Attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941AD & 9/11 combined...
Yes it's a Disney show, but what the hell was wrong with Disney not show Americans' fury & desire for revenge in more realistic manner?!

2023.06.07 18:12 Princess_Fluffypants Job suggestion: learn to pack parachutes
Throwing this out there as a suggestion to people looking for "gig" type ways to earn money on the road.
Find the biggest skydiving dropzone (DZ) in your area, go there and learn to pack parachutes. Packing parachutes for other skydivers (usually shortened to "packing" or "being a packer") is a fantastic job that can function extremely well with van life.
- Fairly low barrier to entry (it's a physically demanding job, but not difficult to learn)
- Good pay, often directly in cash
- Typical pay is $10/pack + tips, and after a couple months of practice on a busy weekend you can knock out 30 pack jobs in a day.
- During "boogies" it's not unheard of to do 50 pack jobs in a day, and sometimes very good packers with a solid client base will do upwards of 70 packs in a day if they're REALLY hitting it hard (It'll take you a few seasons to get to this level)
- Van-life and generally being a bohemian bum is REALLY common amongst skydivers, no one will bat an eye at you living in a van. Plenty of skydivers already do.
- Most big dropzones have campgrounds attached to them with various levels of facilities, and very reasonable rates for monthly stays as long as you're somehow integrated with the skydiving community
- Highly seasonal, many DZs have a "busy" season or are only open for the few months of the year that the weather is good. This gives a reason/excuse for a van dweller to follow the good weather, many will head south for the winter to pack at DZs in Florida, Texas or Arizona.
Packing is very "informal" work, there's usually not a clearly defined structure to it and the culture around packing varies DZ to DZ. So it's good for people who are very friendly, have great soft skills, and get along well with others.
A
very general guide to becoming a packer is as such:
- Familiarize yourself with how parachutes work. Understand what all the parts of a rig are, just google around. There's tons of YouTube videos.
- You don't need to be an expert, but terms like bridle, pilot chute, deployment bag, RSL (reserve static line), should all be familiar to you. You should be able to look at a rig and identify all the parts.
- Head to the dropzone, ask around and find the most senior packer. Sometimes this is an official role, but usually not. It's often whoever has been there the longest and has the most experience, the person that everyone knows and looks up to (often someone who's been packing there for 10 years or more).
- Tell them you'd like to become a packer, they'll size you up and try and learn a bit more about you and figure out if you're worth investing their time in. It helps a lot if you already have skydiver friends, or are trying to become a skydiver yourself. Packing is often about becoming part of the community at the DZ, so the more you can integrate yourself the better.
- The senior packer will either assign you to one of the other more experience packers, or take you on as their own apprentice. They'll give you a packing class, show you how the rigs work, how they're set up, and how to pack them. Sometimes you can expect to pay them ~$200 for this, as it will take a few hours at least and sometimes an entire afternoon.
- They'll start finding some client rigs for you to pack, while they watch. Usually you won't get paid for this, the client pays the packer overseeing you. Sometimes they'll split it with you, but sometimes not (as because they're watching you directly, they're not able to make money doing other pack jobs).
- Once they feel you're ready to go on your own, you're left to find some people to start packing for. Usually there's kind of an informal system about this, jumpers who don't already have a packer they like will be handed out to the less busy packers. A good senior packer will also try and give you clients who have older and less aggressive canopies (brand new canopies are slippery and harder to pack).
- Usually the person who taught you how to pack will keep an eye on you and watch what you're doing for the first few weeks. Expect to pay your senior packer a dollar or two per pack job that you do.
- PRACTICE. A LOT. The more you do it, the faster you'll get and the more familiar you'll get with different types of systems and canopies. There's a lot to learn.
- Once you've been packing for a few seasons, you might think about getting your FAA Rigger's license. This certifies you to do things like repacking reserve parachutes, and doing gear inspections. You can also start packing the big Tandem rigs, which DZs typically pay quite a bit more for a pack job on.
GIGANTIC, MASSIVE, HUGE WARNING!!! Spending a lot of time at a dropzone has been correlated with a desire to skydive. This desire has a direct causal link to losing all of the money that you have made packing.

2023.06.07 18:11 green-jeep-guy This Saturday, LoFi Takes the Streets Music Festival
When: June 10, 2023 Where: 328 Palisade Ave, Jersey City, NJ 07307
What: JC’s LoFi Bar will Take the Streets for a 3rd Time
Beloved Jersey City restaurant to host its 3rd annual street music festival Jersey City NJ—In conjunction with The Riverview Neighborhood Association, Low Fidelity Bar, known for its fabulous cocktails and Detroit style pizza, will host its 3rd annual street music festival on June 10th, 2023, from noon to 9pm. The rain or shine, family friendly event (but bring earplugs) will feature 7 bands and one DJ who will be spinning intermittently throughout the day.
“What makes this year different from the others is that we’ve expanded our circle as far as the entertainment goes. As opposed to primarily booking local bands, we’re happy to be hosting The Dracu-Las from Brooklyn, The Ravagers from Baltimore, and Decent Criminal from Northern CA” says Dan Haag, who along with LoFi owners, Jesse Weeks and Kent Baker, is coconspirator of the festival.
But not to worry, for those who follow the ever-blooming Hudson County music scene, there will still be plenty of local talent. Roots Reggae artist, Alex Tea will kick things off, followed by power-pop crooner, Jonny Couch; Kearney’s, Secret Country and their high-energy bar-band country punk will follow; and at the end of the night, Wydlife will bring their 70's-stylized punk/rock 'n' roll and take their foretold place in local lore as headliner. Food and Drink will be available throughout the day.

2023.06.07 18:11 JoelPMMichaels Need Rachel Lindsay's Apology Rating
I told chat GPT that Rachel doesn't like most statements of apology. I asked Chat GPT to write a statement of apology in her voice for the offense of wearing blackface. I wonder how she'd rank "her own" apology.
I need your thoughts and apology rankings.
------
As an AI language model, I can certainly help you draft a statement of apology in a manner that reflects Rachel Lindsay's perspective. Please keep in mind that I can only simulate her voice based on the information available, and it's important to note that this is an artificial representation and not an actual statement from Rachel Lindsay herself. Here's a draft:
---
"Dear everyone,
I want to address a recent incident that has come to light, involving my past act of wearing blackface. First and foremost, I want to express my deep remorse for my thoughtless and offensive actions. I fully understand the pain and hurt that blackface causes, and I take full responsibility for my ignorance and insensitivity.
I want to emphasize that I am not attempting to justify or make excuses for my behavior. Blackface has a long history of perpetuating racial stereotypes and marginalizing black communities. By engaging in such an act, I unknowingly contributed to a culture of racism and oppression that I deeply regret.
I want to apologize to the black community, as well as anyone else who was hurt or offended by my actions. I am committed to educating myself about the historical context and systemic issues surrounding blackface. I will actively work to unlearn the harmful beliefs and behaviors that led me to make such a thoughtless choice.
Moreover, I understand that an apology alone is not enough. I am dedicated to using my platform and influence to advocate for racial equality and social justice. I will strive to promote understanding, respect, and inclusivity in all aspects of my life, both personally and professionally.
I am aware that actions speak louder than words, and I will be taking concrete steps to make amends. This includes engaging in open and honest conversations, supporting organizations that combat racism, and actively amplifying the voices of those who have been marginalized.
Please know that I am committed to growth and learning from this experience. I hope that my sincere apology will be accepted, and that we can work together towards a more inclusive and equitable society.
With deep remorse and a renewed commitment to change,
Rachel Lindsay (Simulated Voice)"

2023.06.07 18:11 mewwissa For anyone going through the 9 month regression and separation anxiety, there is hope.
Our baby has been displaying intense signs of separation anxiety, and has always been a sensitive little gal. It peaked this past week while she’s in the middle of cutting 2 teeth, and learning so many new things like crawling and clapping. All of a sudden she started screaming and crying at bedtime. Naps were fine, but bedtime was an ordeal all over again. It seemed like each time one of us tried to go in and soothe her, she would get even angrier when we would leave again no matter how long we held her. We begrudgingly did CIO after realizing that our “gentle” methods were having the opposite effect…yall. It took 3 days. She still whines a bit here and there at naps or bedtime, but last night, she made one single peep and spent about 10 or 15 min getting comfy and going to sleep. She only woke once for milk (she’s BF) and her sleep seems to be getting back to normal.
I searched high and low for answers about how to deal with the 9 month regression and found a lot of “we just rode it out” without much explanation. Now I guess I understand why. 🤣 It feels so wrong to resort to letting her cry, but she has spent less time crying overall than with our other methods. She spent a lot of time this morning cuddling me and seems to still have quite a solid bond with us. I was even able to drop her off at my mom’s for an hour yesterday and she didn’t cry once, whereas before, she would cry if anyone else even touched her! I think the sleep training helps not only sleep, but also issues with separation anxiety during the day! She’s learned that mommy and daddy always come back.
Just a sliver of hope for anyone who is going through it, feel free to share your tips in the comments for any other struggling parents with sleepless babies.

In light of recent policy changes on Reddit, I might be moving to another social media platform, most likely Instagram, to get the content I was looking for here. 2023.06.07 18:10 Vast_Republic_1776 Gas gas ex250 questions
Looking at buying a 23 ex250 and wanted to get some firsthand rider input on these bikes.
1: How far can you go on a tank of gas and how often do you have to fill the premix reservoir?
It’s advertised at 60 miles to the tank, which fits the window for most east coast hare scrambles and cross country races. My concern is pitting at national enduros and the occasional 100+ mile exhibition race.
2: What’s the low end power delivery like? The vital mx review on the ec250 makes it sound like the power delivery is anything but crisp.
3: I’m partial to the yz250x, being a former Yamaha rider, but I’m a little disappointed they left the mx tank on it instead of going with a bigger tank like ktm and it’s brands, beta, or tm. That being said, for those that have ridden both, how does the ex250 compare to the yz250x?

2023.06.07 18:10 Realbigdeezy Massive Ex Library Haul + Story
| Story time: Saw a huge posting of ex library books on market place for $200. Pictures were very low quality and didn’t show everything listed but I saw lots of flame of recca and some knights of zodiac so I decided to message the seller. First thing I did was ask if this was shippable because it was a local posting but 4+ hours away. The seller saw the message and only angry reacted. I then asked if it was pick up only, again I get the same “angry reacts” to my messages. I then asked if there was a problem because I frequent marketplace and have tons of positive interactions (I own a collectible company) again I get no response. I then waited 2 days and purchased the set directly through marketplace only for it to be declined later by the seller. I then wait another 2 days and messaged the seller from my girlfriends account. To say this man’s mood completely changed after getting a message from an attractive female would be a understatement. He ended up sending the collection without us even paying. I had to message him on multiple occasions after the package was delivered just to pay him. I never thought I would have either of these sets because of how expensive they are but I’m extremely happy with this random haul I really refused to give up on! The flame of recca and knights of zodiac both had full stickers on them which took me 3 days to fully remove and clean. Shout out to thepromg for having that “how to restore ex-library manga! Sticker removal” video which I’ve used a few times to make library books look clean again and shout out to my girl for being a real 1 lol good luck on your hunts guys! 2023.06.07 18:10 martyfartybarty N22 implant
Just wondering if anyone has any experience with an implant that while wearing an external device you’d get intermittent ‘neuroshocks’ perceived as sounds? I started to get them a week ago.
I’m on the 31-year old N22 cochlear implant. My audiologist turned off the top 3 and bottom 3 electrodes to try reduce the ‘neuroshocks’. I still get less frequent shocks while wearing the external device. I’ve now stopped using the decide and be deaf to give my inner ear a rest. Also, I feel like a mild case of a low buzz of tinnitus.
Maybe my implant is failing. My audiologist already tested it and will refer to headquarters to assess testing data and then let me know what they discover and a plan forward soon. The thought of having my implant replaced scares me a bit. And I only have just the implant on my right ear only even though I’m profoundly deaf on both ears. I was implanted in 1992 so long time ago.

2023.06.07 18:10 dustball155 Seeking advice on converting 1989 GMC Rv headlights to LED
Renovating an older 89 GMC/Chevy RV with this headlight combination. I have replaced the orange lightbulbs underneath the headlights, but I want to convert the headlights to LED. The top headlight (if you will) seems to be an easy conversion to an LED set up. The bottom configuration however is of course a light socket with a bulb that has a grounding 12 gauge wire (flaired) inserted into the housing of the light socket (where the bulb sits) and grounded to one of the housing bracket bolts.
I am considering just cutting the light off at the socket plug and wiring an led fixture to match the led headlight above it. Any recommendations for this? The picture isn't the RV of course but the set up I am referring to.

2023.06.07 18:10 EvilFoca How to build the best ETF portfolio from a restricted subset of them
Hi, I'm from Argentina and here we can only invest in some stocks and ETFs. Basically we have something called CEDEAR (Certificados de Depósito Argentinos, that roughly translates to Argentine Deposit Certificates). These instruments are our equivalent to some stocks and ETFs, but we do not have access to all but rather to a small number of them (specially if we talk about of ETFs). My question is, given this list of available ETFs to me, which is, in your opinion, the best portfolio I could possibly make (following the Boglehead philosophy of keeping it simple and with low fees):
- SPDR S&P 500 (SPY).
- Invesco NASDAQ 100 (QQQ).
- IShares Trust Russell 2000 (IWM).
- IShares MSCI Emerging Market (EEM).
- The Select Sector Financial (XLF).
- Cef Select Sector SPDR Energy (XLE).
- SPDR Dow Jones Industrial (DIA).
- IShares MSCI Brazil Cap (EWZ).
- ARK Innovation (ARKK).
The main problem is that we do not have access to a World ex-US ETF for stocks (only one for emerging markets and another one for Brazil). We also do not have access to any bond ETF whatsoever.
I think that maybe the best solution would be something like 80% SPY and 20% EEM (or 90/10 if I want to be more conservative). What do you think?
Edit: I'm young so I'm not looking for investing in bonds yet, but I wanted to clarify that we do not have access to a bond ETF nevertheless.
