I have a dear Friend who moved into our apartment complex after a time of housing insecurity. We advocated for this friend to get them into our close-knit small apartment unit because we knew they would be good for rent and we could support each other by being in the same building. Overall it's been wonderful save for one thing.
Friend has a really sweet senior Shiba Jack Russel terrier mix named Jack. We genuinely love Jack, but since Friend has been going to work in a new job, Jack mournfully howls every. single. time. Friend leave for work- and their bedroom where Jack chills shares a wall with ours. For the past couple of months pretty consistently jack howls for 15-25 minutes when Friend leaves and wakes me up an hour and a half or so before my alarm. I work retail and I'm a designer and really need my sleep to recharge from human interaction lol.
Friend knows this and we have been brainstorming solutions. Friend rides a motorcycle that is parked right outside their window and we discovered that Jack hearing the bike was upsetting him (he loves to ride with Friend) so Friend will push their bike out of the alley to the street before starting and Jack will still bark and howl. Jack is not food motivated so a snuffle treat mat and peanut butter in a Kong have not provided real distraction. We put an audio book on while Friend is gone so it's not quiet and still no luck. Jack obviously is just very distressed by Friend's leaving- previously Friend did not live alone. Friend is very good about walking Jack and getting him outside before and after work.
I feel bad because this is putting a strain on our relationship. Jack has been registered as an emotional support animal which is how he could get in in the first place in our dog-free building. I've noticed lately now that it's warmer and the windows are open Jack is even MORE sensitive to other noises. I've heard him barking at my other neighbors when they are parking, when people come & go in the building, and even at times when I'm playing a podcast through our speaker system in our place. I am growing increasingly worried that our other neighbors (who do not have a friendship with Friend) will start to complain. Since Friend does not have much money and had struggled to get into an apartment, there's been a lot of stress about this.
Can anyone with experience offer some advice? Anyone had a similar situation you were able to resolve? The only thing I can think of is that Friend already wanted a cat... I want to be like GET THE CAT NOW so Jack isn't as lonely lol. Thank you!

I play Minecraft on PS5. I've repeatedly been having a glitch where I get stuck underwater, and it won't let me swim up. If I hold x to swim up, I stay still, and if I let go of x I'll sink as if I'm holding a button to swim down.
This 100% is not being caused by the buttons on the controller getting stuck; this is an issue that only ever happens when underwater in Minecraft. I'd say it happens about 1 in every 10 times I go under water.
Sometimes, it'll go back to normal after a few seconds. I've tried things like placing a block or opening my inventory, but it seems entirely random when/if it'll let me swim up.
I've lost so much stuff on survival worlds this way :( and am essentially forced to avoid water.

What if the Yellowjackets Is like that one movie series "Final Frontier" meaning, the next season each of the main characters will die 1 by 1, tragically but by "accident" when really what's killing them is the "wilderness" or AKA death itself. I mean think about it, they basically escaped death?! That was a crazy plane crash, and first Travis died, "by an accidental suicide" because the button broke, then Nat died because Misty accidently killed her!
In final frontier, they escaped death by way of a plane crash, and death caught up to them, killing them all in "accidental ways" then, I thought it was interesting that Nat was back on the plane when she was dying, and Lottie said "let it in" like let death/the wilderness in, because she had been running from it for to long.
I think the way they die will also be parallels, to past events that happened out there. Like how Travis died gasping for air, Javi died trying to get air because he was drowning, (maybe a stretch idk) Nat died by someone she trusted, after Javi died by someone he trusted.

The oldest game I have is Pokémon Crystal. Looking for an upgrade from my current car, a 2008 Infiniti EX35. I’ve been happy with the performance and driving dynamics, but I need more headroom and at 15 years old the issues are piling up. FUN to drive--quick (>250 hp), good handling/steering feel
Luxurious-- Heated leather, good looking dash, nice materials. We don’t need all the bells and whistles, but the car should be a good-looking and comfortable place to be
Maintenance--Reliability is important, as are reasonable maintenance costs. Obviously we want something that is safe and won’t leave us stranded, but given how little driving we do I’m willing to spend a bit more on maintenance and such. That said, we hope to keep this car for at least 5 years.
Some cars I’m considering:
2013-15 Mercedes GLK 350-- A little old and not super luxurious, but they seem to be reliable, practical and fun to drive. Probably the worst in terms of infotainment.
2016-18 VW GTI— Comfortable, fun, and practical. Some reliability concerns, but the Mk7 generation is supposed to be pretty decent in that respect. Don’t love that it’s FWD, but the Golf R is out of my price range.
2017-ish Volvo V60-- Have not driven one, but I know that Volvos interiors are super comfortable. A T5 or T6 should be fairly reliable, and pretty engaging to drive.
2015-17 Infiniti QX70-- Performance should be pretty good, and offers a bit more headroom than the EX35. Would be nice to get something more different from what I have now, but definitely a contender
2015-ish Lexus NX200t-- Everyone says get a Lexus and this is one. Seems like performance will be mediocre, but it checks a lot of other boxes.

My pc build is a asus h310m-a pro with an intel I5 9400 with integrated graphics. When I plug in my gpu I can only get the pc to boot with the Igpu, the fans on the plugged in graphics card spins to life, however even with that, no video goes to the gpu, I’ve tried other ones, still nothing.

My bf (M, 21) recently told me (F, 23) he thinks he has depression (which he's had before but i didn't know him by then) but i'm not sure what i can do to help him. We've been dating for nearly 3 months and he used to always tell me how he felt about anything that bothered him but he's not speaking to me as much as before anymore. He's changed completely from how he usually is normally so it's been hard on me because i'm an anxious person that notices every slight change in patterns and he keeps getting worse. He takes forever to read my messages and he recently started to just leave me on read for hours because he's not in the mood to talk to people when he used to message me updates all the time and stuff like that. I don't know what to do, and i don't think me just being there helps him right now because he's extremely distant at the moment. He's not mentally there. What could i do?

So I’ve been working out 4 days a week for roughly an hour and a half per session. I’m eating in a deficit and trying to get in better shape. I typically work out around 3-4 hours before I go to bed.
Main problem I’ve run into.. my sleep schedule is horrendous. I feel groggy during the day which isn’t too big of an issue, but what IS an issue.. I can’t sleep at night. I’ll go to bed exhausted and randomly wake up 2 hours later feeling completely refreshed and unable to go back to sleep no matter how long I lay there.
This is only a fake feeling though and I’ll end up groggy again later on in the day… I know I need to be getting sleep for my body to properly build muscle and recover, but I physically can’t. Has anyone experienced (and hopefully fixed) this issue? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hiya! I bought these headphones a couple of years back, and they worked perfectly. Until I f'd up and laid them under my slanted open window when I went to sleep. Of course, it had rained profusely that night and my headphones were not working in the morning.

It doesn't turn on, however, when I put the charger in, the light does give me a charging effect. Is the problem then only apparent with the battery? Or is there still a chance that the entire headboard/motherboard/whatever is damaged? Otherwise, I might want to try and buy a new battery to replace :)
