Tldr: should I extend the CPO on my current bmw or trade it in for a different model
For the past four years I’ve owned two different cars, a 2016 428i m sport package and a 2018 530e with the executive and the convenience package!
I’ve loved both cars for the time I had them and have continued to enjoy my current 530e.
I financed my first car and traded it in for the second as the extended coverage for the 1 year CPO was running out. My monthly payments changed by about a 100$.
As my current cars CPO seems to near its end, I was struggling with deciding whether I should extend the warranty for about 3-3.5k$ or to trade this is taking a 2-3k hit and finance a newer CPO.
I’ve always wanted a convertible and the Z4 has just been on my head for a few weeks but I’m open to a 4 series convertible as well as the Audi convertibles that fall in the 40-45k price range.
A newer car would come with the added two year peace of mind with the CPO but would likely cost me an additional 100 or so dollars on my monthly payments. That being said, despite its impracticalities, who doesn’t love a roadster? But for what it’s worth, my current bmw is great! However just passing 5 years since it was first sold and going over 50k miles, I feel that now is the time when things gradually begin to fall apart.
Is it a wise decision to trade it in for a fun car, if I do a 4 series over the z4 I get the four passenger capacity even though the rear seats can tend to feel cramped? Or should I be mature and boring about this decision and stick to my current 2018 530e? If so, should I pay 3k for extending coverage or just wing it and take things as they come?

Needing some advice. My daughter and her fiance live in a 1 bed/1 bath apartment (less than 750 sqft) and they both work regular hours, so aren't home most of the day. The lease agreement states that there is 1 water meter for the building and tenants will be billed based on calculation that considers total usage for the month and the apartment size to determine an average usage rate. Last year, their total utilities for watesewer was $60 for February usage and that was about the average they paid throughout the previous year. Since last Spring, the utility bill has increased over every month with their latest bill being almost $200. The called the leasing office and they said more people live in the building so the usage rates are higher (law of averages disputes that claim). They called the company that bills the utilities for the apartment complex last month and they noticed a big spike and suggested they submit a work request to check for a water leak. Maintenance basically ignored their request.
Has someone been in a similar situation with unexplained, increasing rates?

Advice or help please! Had a weird thing happen last night was wondering if it had happened to anyone else or if anyone knows what it would be.
A weird phone alarm went off at 3:30am didn’t sound like my usually alarm and was quite irritating my phone then would not let me turn it off. There was no ‘switch off alarm button’ no notifications and nothing to say why this noise was going off.
I then turned my volume down because it was the only way and tried to get back to sleep. 5 or so minutes later it sounded like I was getting buzzing notifications but it increased in speed and ended up constantly buzzing. This was also apart of this weird alarm and I was unable to stop it at all! Switched my phone for the night and hoping it doesn’t happen again 😅.
Please help! I’m super curious on what this could be :))

Rockstar Games can't release Grand Theft Auto VI fast enough, though as we eagerly (and impatiently) await for the next installment in the long-running GTA franchise, fan made trailers have us drooling at what the actual product could look like. The latest one comes from TeaserPlay, which used Unreal Engine 5 to render several different locations in stunning detail.
The actual game isn't likely to use UE5. Rumor has it that Rockstar Games is leaning on its own proprietary RAGE9 graphics engine, and that's both plausible and, in our opinion, very likely to be true. TeaserPlay acknowledges this in the description to its concept trailer, suggesting it wanted to render several possible locations in UE5 so we'd have something to compare with down the line.

In the order they appear, the trailer showcases Vice City, San Fierro, Las Venturas, and Liberty City. The shots inside what appears to be a high-rise apartment complex in Las Venturas look especially crisp as the camera pans over a carpet and into a kitchen island with some veggies and pasta in the background, though it's far from the only scene that stands out.
"I/we use the most powerful features of Unreal Engine, such as ray tracing, lumen, nanite [virtualized geometry], screen ppace reflections, and MetaHuman so that the graphics are as close as possible to a next-gen sandbox game," TeaserPlay states.
There are a ton of leaks and rumors surrounding GTA 6. One of the more recent ones suggest there will be at least two playable protagonists, one of which is a Latina woman. The franchise hasn't featured a playable female character in a long time.
Rockstar Games has been rather short on details for the next installment, though it has at least confirmed that GTA 6 is in development.
"With the unprecedented longevity of GTA V, we know many of you have been asking us about a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series," the devloper shared in a blog post last February. "With every new project we embark on, our goal is always to significantly move beyond what we have previously delivered—and we are pleased to confirm that active development for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway."
No release date has been mentioned, though Rockstar Games will share its next earnings report in early August. It's possible we will get an update at that time.

I am trying to set up a spreadsheet wherein I can input a number and it will automatically break apart that number in certain defined percentages in subsequent columns. I can find info to crate functions for specific boxes but I am having trouble finding out how to do this specifically:
So in column A, for instance, I would input 1000. Then in column B it would auto fill 25% of that 1000; then column C would auto fill 70% of 1000. And so on for whatever subsequent percentages I want.
So column A would be the only one into which I would input numbers and the rest would be auto filled based on the number in column A.
I would also like to total each column and have that change automatically as I input new numbers.
I would be happy with a direct solution or even just some terms or phrases that I can search that would get me pointed in the right direction.

I am a 49 year-old woman who had a bit of a crisis on my birthday in early February. I have a very stressful job and life and I really let it get the better of me in the last few years. The pandemic didn't help things in that I have spent the last three years passing my free time by cooking and baking and sloppily gaining the standard COVID-19-pounds. I am also riddled with rheumatoid arthritis, and have been suffering from a three-year-old rotator cuff injury that never healed and severe arthritis in my right knee. Basically, I'm a mess, and I've lately been feeling quite terrible about myself, to the point where it has made me embrace the shut-in lifestyle that I'd been fantasizing about my entire life as a shy introvert.
This is all to say that everything kind of came to a head and I started looking for an exercise that would be low impact on my joints and stress-relieving on my brain. I researched and read everything I could about indoor rowing, which led me to this subreddit. After my birthday in February, I finally purchased a Concept 2 rower and it arrived at the end of the month. On the 27th, I started my challenge of rowing thirty minutes a day for thirty days, which I successfully completed yesterday.
Rowing is just as wonderful, painful, challenging, and life-altering as I hoped it would be. My C2 is the first piece of exercise equipment I've owned that didn't turn into a very expensive clothes hanger within two weeks. I was expecting to lose a bunch of weight but only dropped six pounds, and I don't even care because my body feels so different and so much better. My back is straighter, my gut is flatter, my muscles feel like muscles, and I altogether feel like a different person. I won't share my metrics or my PM5 screens because, as someone described newbie erg screens on this sub recently, they are "abysmal" as compared to the ones that are posted here every day, but I have rowed about 165,000 meters. This amazes me because I went from not exercising at all apart from walking my dogs and doing housework, to rowing daily. My knee pain is literally gone, as is my shoulder rotator cuff pain. They say rowing works 86% of your muscles, and that sounds about right because 86% of me is sore at all times, but it feels amazing. I don't think I'm improving too much in terms of speed or strength, but I think my technique is getting better and the best part of that is that whenever I have a question about what I'm doing wrong, I do a search on here and an answer pops up immediately.
I'm sorry for the long ramble, but I wanted to thank all of you for motivating me and educating me. I've never been an athlete so this is all new to me, and I've found this sub to be filled with really smart, helpful people who never make people feel embarrassed about their weight or their efforts. Thank you so much for that. I'm a little nervous about being finished with the 30-day challenge, and I might just keep going even though I was planning on resting today because my body feels exhausted, but no matter what, I feel like I've fallen in love with my rower and with rowing in general. Thanks again for being such a fount of motivation and education. I really admire everyone on this sub.

We in the market for a new backup software.
Right now we are using Veritas Backup Exec, it does the job and is relatively inexpensive.

We are fully virtualized with VMware (multiple Essentials and Essentials Plus).
Most of the VMs are Windows servers with a growing fleet of Debian systems.
In total, we back up 50 TB worth of VM files (thick provisioned).
​
The one major point of failure in Backup Exec is application aware backup without an active network connection between the system being backed up and the backup server.
Thus, no granular restore of individual objects (Exchange, Sharepoint (not needed), AD, MS SQL) is possible.
Sharepoint is not used by us, so no problem. MS SQL we use Maintaince Scheduler to dump the db and backup those files. AD, was never needed in the past, the only time I needed an AD backup, the whole system was to be restored:
Exchange is a relatively lengthy process to restore the entire VM to an isolated VLAN and manually get the objects we are looking for.
Since we are a hosted Exchange provider and would like to have a complete separation (management / user or access network / backup network), it is important for us to find a solution that meets the following requirements.

So our new solution has the following requirements:
- must: application aware backup (and direct restore) via VMware without network connection (ip / layer 3)
- must: tape drive / tape library and NAS (smb or nfs) support as backup storage.
- must: no cloud anything: no cloud storage, no cloud UI management portal, firewall will do with the bare minimum of internet access (e.g. activation server, our management tool)
- should: administration gui, cli only is probably not liked by our backup admin.... (administration gui via web browser is preferred)
- should: price per backup server or hypervisor host, price per VM will be astromonically high
- nice 2 have: working check_mk plugin (official or communuty), so we don't have to write and maintain it ourselves
- nice 2 have: backup and restore of individual files on windows and linux gest by VMware direct
- nice 2 have: KVM / proxmox support, since nobody knows how long we will work with VMware since Broadcom bought it. You never know...
- info: whether it's free / foos / opersource with paid enterprise options / support or a full closed source commercial solution is irrelevant (it needs to be reliable and not suck to manage it)
- info: operating system for backup server is not a problem. I have no problem with windows (should run on WS2016 as we don't have newer license for this system) or linux (prefer debian)
- info: installing a backup system on the guest system is no problem (without is preferable of course)

At the moment I have the following providers on my list to try out:
- Veritas Netbackup (seems to be from the last century and the sales person was not very helpful in checking if the needed features are possible -> please have a look at our technical documents...)
- Veem (gets expensive very fast)
- Arserve (no real contact with it yet, apart from marketing emails)
- Acronis (will test tomorrow, seems promising).

Point number one is a must without which we will stay with Backup Exec as it works reliably for us and is very cheap compared to other vendors.
I have reached out to all of our distributors and VARs to make a suggestion as to which solution can meet our needs. At the moment, the only feedback I have received is that it is a special use case.
"Please check it yourself with the trial license" or "I will have to ask my technical/support team."

Is this really such a special use case? True complete separation of user network and backup makes perfect sense to me.
And since most infrastructure is virtual, I get the impression that it's not just us who have this need.

This will most likely be a rant but whatever. The family court system is worthless. Its worthless for children, its worthless for parents also. For a backstory before I get hate here I have seen fathers that have been denied custody/ visitation that should have had full custody of their child. I have also seen fathers have full custody and the mothers really should have had full custody of the children. The things i am seeing right now in my current relationship are just unreal. The father never pays support, He does for a few months then stops sighting financial troubles but refuses to get a job. Sometimes goes 2+ months without seeing his child and the court system will do nothing about it. Just a slap on the wrist and never do it again kind of situation. Family court needs reform and it needs it badly, fathers AND mothers should not be allowed to sway in and out of their Childs life. They should not get the opportunity to emotionally harm their child. It just should not happen, it should not be allowed. This child in this current situation always acts up when they go to their other parents home and acts out horrifically. We will call him parent B. He gets very mad at parent A when parent A tells parent B they dont know what to do as he does not replicate this behavior at home and when parent A tries to talk to child. Child does not say anything. Parent B always says parent A is the reason why Parent Bs life is falling apart. Parent A wants to take Parent B to court but is afraid that another attorney would just lie to take their money and nothing would change, parent A is very afraid to leave their home at night in fear of parent B stalking them as he has done that before. All parent A has done is want to live a successful life and just have to communicate with parent B when they have to for co-parenting purposes. Parent A has still tried to be a friend to parent B but with the recent issues effecting child support and the child parent A had had to stop being there as a friend because she could no longer keep their temper with what the child was going through. Idk what this is meant to be, I just had to get this out.

I’m going through an “end-ship”/friend breakup, and I feel extremely guilty because I am naturally a loyal and emotional person. My friend (we’ll call Megan), and I used to have many things in common and could relate to each other. However, I got married at 20 years old, have met new people and have had many different experiences, and now every time I talk to her, I feel like I’m talking to a sophomore in high school. I feel bad because she was one of my maid of honors (I had two), but I really only gave her the MOH title because I had previously promised her that she would be when we were teens. That was a mistake because by the time I got engaged, we had definitely grown apart, though I could sense her trying to hang on. We have nothing in common, every conversation feels awkward and forced, and I don’t enjoy talking to her at all. Our interests and hobbies are so different, and I have different goals than her. We haven’t genuinely hung out in months, but she wants to FaceTime soon and get together some time. I’m just not sure what to do. Every time we hang out or talk it’s always negative and there’s always drama. (Some things happened in her past that she blames other things or people for, but I have a haunch that she mega exaggerates.) Example: Megan had gotten engaged to the sweetest guy (after only meeting him in person for two months). I told her that if she was sure this is what she wanted, I was happy for her, and I supported her. The guy was so in love with her and he was ecstatic. Then she called it off and broke his heart, claiming that he was verbally abusive. I think she got cold feet. She then complains to me that there are no guys, and the ones that are available aren’t attractive or are short. I tell her that she has to get out there and out in the effort, and your standards can’t be based on just looks. Furthermore, your standards can’t be too high, especially when it’s just on superficial things. This is just one of the topics that constantly circulates throughout our relationship. There are several more. It’s a constant battle of her having problems, and me being caught between a rock and a hard place. I try to offer her advice in a kind and helpful way, but she gets defensive and only wants me to tell her what she wants to hear. She once blew up and said some pretty untrue and nasty things to me. I have since stopped offering advice completely and simply reply with “Yeah I’m sorry, I know it’s hard.” I’m such a people pleaser and have always been a “helper,” but honestly that’s a toxic trait of mine. I’m getting better at setting my priorities straight, but I really don’t want to hurt her feelings. I’ve always been the giver in the relationship. My husband definitely doesn’t want me to stay friends with her, and he doesn’t like her at all, because he can see what talking to her does to me. It’s always me serving her. It’s gotten to a point to where I dread seeing her or even text her, and I feel very drained. My other (real) MOH, we’ll call Sarah, is my actual best friend, and is getting married soon. I am her Matron of Honor. She has not included Megan in her wedding party at all. Rather than completely ghost Megan, I’m trying to phase it out, but it’s not really working because she keeps contacting me. i just watched season one earlier this year and got caught up in time for season two. i watched the episodes pretty far apart from each other cause the gore made me uncomfortable lol, so by the time i got to the finale i totally forgot about allie and the freeze-out plot from the pilot. if i remember correctly, when the girls are talking about things they feel guilty about after the plane crashes (i think either the second or third episode i can’t remember) they talk about her, but that’s it until the finale isn’t it? i can’t remember her doing anything else in season one other than the freeze-out, her adult self being in the pilot (when she says she was supposed to be on the train) and then once again at the reunion. will she be important later? was there something i missed on the first watch? i might be crazy but i feel like they’re building up something with her. the way the finale left it made it seem like she would be important going forward, she wasn’t in the newest episode and i don’t think i have seen her in any season two promos so far. it seems to be a waste to spend just enough time with her character in the pilot, have her come back as an adult, and then never again in the rest of the show.

As title suggests, little stumped on this specifically, I originally had 3 tickets, sold 2 on Lyte, but my box still came with 3 as the sale and the shipping email was a few days apart

Context: I have been with my bf for nearly 1 year, we’re both the same age & we have good jobs. A few months ago I found out I was pregnant, I wanted it and he didn’t.. I felt like I was burdening him with it, I could see it in his face so I decided to no go through with the pregnancy.
Fast forward after having some time apart because mentally and emotionally I was completely drained and broken. I still talk to my bf about it and he says he “understands” but I don’t feel like he does, he says he feels guilty etc but I don’t feel any of that. I went through so much pain and I don’t how to show him that.
I constantly feel like I’m nagging at him & I can tell he gets annoyed sometimes but honestly, I tell him how it is. I want to see my partner do well & be motivated etc.. he WFH and when I stay over I always clean his space spotless or cook for him or go out food shopping etc. I do these things because I like to do it but what about me? After work he’s constantly on his phone or laptop doing whatever and then he just joins me on the sofa scrolling on twitter and that’s it. That’s every day when I’m there or when I see him on the weekends.
I want him to also take care of me emotionally and mentally & be present. Am I overreacting? I wanted to speak to him face to face but I need some advice first as he is an extremely sensitive guy. How do I have this conversation with him? I feel like I’m being extra needy or “ungrateful” because he has helped me at the start of our relationship, it’s just that now after the abortion he’s being like this.

I am doing some field research and need an interview candidate within the week. The interview candidate would ideally be shopping for a used car and is looking at CarMax or competitors or has previously bought a used car and used CarMax or considered CarMax but instead bought from someone else. This interview can be done on zoom or by phone and will only take up as much time as the person has. The responses can be anonymous, these interviews are just being done to get an idea about the consumer attitudes towards CarMax and competitors within the used car industry. I want to know what sets CarMax apart from competitors and what the advantages/disadvantages of buying from CarMax are.
