2023.03.29 22:19 spinodza Looking for Tips / Itineraries for 10 Days in Switzerland

My wife and I will be visiting Switzerland for the first time, for 10 days (including travel days) mid-April. We will be flying in and out of Geneva, we are debating whether we should try to fit in 3 cities, or just stick to 2… My loose idea is 3 days in lake Geneva, 4 days in the Bernese Oberland, and 3 days in Ticino, although other suggestions are very welcome.
Any input/ critiques are much appreciated! Thank you

2023.03.29 22:13 Downeaster1981 Wendigo, Skinwalker, or Whatever It Was - Scared the Bejesus Out of Me.

This encounter takes place in Newport, Vermont. Newport is a tiny town nestled in the mountains, close to the border of Canada, home of Lake Memphremagog and the St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
I was visiting a friend at the time who lived near Burlington, and he worked for the State Government of Vermont and while I was staying at his house for two weeks, he didn't take off any days from work and had to travel to different cities and towns all throughout Vermont. With him, I got to see a few random spots in Vermont I'd never been to before, and Newport was one of them. The idea was that he'd go to work, and I would walk around whichever town or city he had to go to, and I'd take photos and check out restaurants and local attractions just for something to do.
He parked in the lot of the building he'd be holding meetings in all day long and so I said goodbye to him and set off to explore on my own, telling him to text me when he was done. I checked out the amazing church we'd seen driving by on the way to my pal's work building, since I'm an architecture nerd, and while I was up there it began to snow down below and got really cold, and this was in November toward the end of the month, so it was pretty much the first snow I'd seen all season. I could see the large lake, Memphremagog, from up near the church, and before long I had to grab breakfast at a little mom and pop restaurant, and I spent the morning after that walking around and taking photos of anything I could in the town. Well, it began to sleet and got even colder, so I holed up in a market that doubled as a little restaurant and loaded pics up to my laptop while I warmed up and had some chili. The food was good, and the building was warm, and I probably spent about an hour in there, maybe an hour and a half. The snow wasn't really accumulating outside although it had gotten much colder since we'd arrived. I'd already seen much of the town and what it had to offer, so I decided to travel toward the outskirts of the town and soon found myself walking along some railroad tracks at around 2pm or so. There were lots of colorful leaves, and as I walked further along on the tracks, I noticed a curious tunnel ahead that caught my attention.
The tunnel was arching over the train tracks I was on at the moment, and for some reason the other side of the tunnel to me looked artificial and cartoonish, as if someone had painted over the tunnel entrance. The lighting seemed off, and in general it made me pause and take a photo. Well, as I did so, I felt like I was being watched and something made me turn around.
What I saw were two MASSIVE, grey and white wolves following me on the train tracks, about a half mile back. I mean, these wolves were big and definitely not coyotes or stray dogs. They were thick with fur, and they were stalking low to the ground.
Immediately my heart started pounding. I looked for an escape, and on each side of me the ground rose up about 15 or 20 feet and on the left was a large fence I could perhaps climb and on the right was open but had homes sprinkled here and there. I was pretty close to the tunnel, too, at that point and above it was a road and a guard rail. I hauled ass toward the tunnel, thinking maybe I could reach it and climb on top and let the wolves go their own way. I started to make my way quickly before I realized I wanted to see how close they were to me and mentally establish how much time I might have to reach the tunnel. I turned around again.
This time, what I saw were impossibly NOT two wolves. This time, two large gray humanoids were crawling on all fours at a high rate of speed toward me. They had no distinguishing features and instilled a massive sense of dread within me. I gave up my plans to run for the tunnel and instead launched myself up a hill and into the back yard of a man who immediately stepped in between me and his wife and daughter and started screaming at me to get off his property. I sheepishly tried to explain that there was something after me on the tracks behind me, but could tell he wasn't listening or caring what I had to say so I removed myself as quickly as I could and made my way via his yard to the road and then onto the top of the tunnel where I stayed for an hour or more until my friend texted me that his meetings were going to be done soon. I texted him back a quick account of what had happened, and finally worked up the courage to walk back down as I hadn't seen anything at all the entire time I was crouched on top of the tunnel.
My legs were shaking as I walked back to where my friend waited, just seeing the gray featureless faces and spindly limbs of the two humanoid creatures crawling toward me, but they had definitely been wolves before, I was sure of it. I have really no explanation for what they were, and I honestly didn't care at the time. Whatever they are, I can still see them crawling when I close my eyes.

2023.03.29 22:00 StepwiseUndrape574 4Chan Leak Allegedly Exposes GTA 6 Lead Characters And Key Map Details

A pair of leaks have turned up on 4Chan that claim to outline details of Rockstar's forthcoming Grand Theft Auto 6. Fans of the franchise would do well to take these rumors with a grain of salt as there's no way to know for sure if any of these details are accurate. The leaker on 4Chan goes by Rhanadeng and claims to have been a friend of a disgruntled employee working on the game during 2019.
The source claims that this employee allegedly asked him to anonymously leak information about GTA 6. However, things later improved, and he lost contact with the Rockstar team member. One key detail is that this person also claims the game has been in active development since 2016 or 2017, with pre-production starting shortly after GTA V was ported to current generation consoles in 2014. The new GTA VI game world map is also claimed to be the size of GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 combined.
gta v mission One of the odder bits that this 4Chan user details is a minigame where players control a stream of urine from a protagonist using motion controls. On the protagonist front, there are said to be four in the game, including a driver called Walther Wallace and an unnamed former Israeli IDF person. Another, Thomas Branigan, is a smuggler who owns an aircraft called the Raven, and Marcus Burke is a drug dealer and father to a young boy.
The area is said to be based in Florida, with Vice City among the three major cities with one smaller city in the far northwest of the map. The game reportedly jumps around in time with part of the timeline set in the 1980s and other parts set in the present day. Missions aren't as linear as they are in GTA V or RDR2, notes the proclaimed leaker. Players will briefly visit a small central American island, but it's reportedly not Guarma. The game starts with gamers playing the role of smuggler, Branigan.
gta v car Supposedly there are multiple child characters in the game that mainly interact with Burke and his son. Switching between the protagonists isn't said to be instantaneous, but the camera reportedly zooms out and travels quickly to where the protagonist the player wants to play is located. Sleeping Dogs-inspired parkour is involved in the game as well, but to a lesser extent without wall running. The leaker claims that weapons function more realistically in the game than they have in past titles. An example noted is rocket launcher back blast that ends up taking out an NPC in one of the missions, where the goal is to destroy a helicopter.
Hand-to-hand combat is supported and is said to be similar to Red Dead 2, with the leaker noting it's harder to fight hand-to-hand GTA VI than in GTA V. Player characters can also gain weight in the game, and it affects character attributes as it did in RDR2. Mori Kibbutz is also reportedly in the game, but not much else is detailed about his character.
This leak isn't the first that has surfaced about GTA 6. Last December, a user on reddit claiming to be a beta tester, leaked a bunch of alleged details of the game. In January, another leak claimed that the game would launch in 2021.

Legal Action on the Tempe to Stop Arizona Coyotes Development Deal Now

The City of Phoenix reported on Tuesday that its flight division is recording legitimate activity against the city of Tempe for the arranged private improvement that is a piece of the new diversion region with the new field for the Arizona Coyotes.
Phoenix is suing to stop Tempe’s $2.1 billion arrangement with the Arizona Coyotes, a move bound to reignite a between-city struggle over a proposed diversion locale that seemed to have ceased to exist four months prior.

Legal Action Against Tempe

The arrangement includes building a hockey field, a diversion locale, and almost 2,000 lofts on 46 sections of land of Tempe-possessed land west of Town Lake.
Tempe authorities at first greenlighted the task in November, and electors were supposed to get the last say during an exceptional political decision on May 16 on whether it pushed ahead.
Tuesday’s claim might mess up that cycle. It battles that Tempe’s endorsement of the arrangement disregarded a strategy that limits how close lodging can be to Phoenix’s Sky Harbor Global Air terminal, some portion of a 1994 understanding intended to save occupants from the uproarious plane commotion and safeguard the air terminal from clamor-related prosecution.
  • The legitimate activity comes over a 1.2 square-mile region that is presented to commotion levels of a serious level from the close by air terminal.
  • And the two urban communities consented to get planes far from homes in one of the air terminal’s flight ways because of security and clamor.
  • Phoenix says it is an understanding Tempe breaks with the arrangement to place private units in the way.
Phoenix is asking a Maricopa Province Better Court judge to keep Tempe from pushing ahead with the task by fixing the underlying endorsement of the arrangement in December.
The contention isn’t new. Phoenix spent the better piece of 2022 protesting the arrangement as a result of the arranged lofts, which would be around 2 miles east of the air terminal.
A survey of the 1994 strategy, be that as it may, proposes the Coyote’s improvement probably won’t disregard the principles, The Arizona Republic revealed in October.
The public decision in favor of the endorsement of the diversion area comes on May 16. There are plans to fabricate a new $2.1 billion hockey field and diversion region in the City of Tempe, on the whole, citizens will choose if they need it or not.

2023.03.29 21:58 inthecloudsallday Is it possible to help a teen relative that’s out of state in a bad situation?

I’m wondering if my reaction to this is magnified due to my own childhood abuse. I have a hard time trusting my judgement, especially in situations like this. My nephew in another state is in a bad situation and I feel so helpless. I can see the damage that’s being done to him and I feel like there’s nothing we can do.
Some background: this is my husband’s nephew from his sister. When he was 5 she had left him with a friend because she didn’t want to be a mom anymore. My husband went to get him and we were working on adoption paperwork with the mother’s consent, she agreed to give up her parental rights but she changed her mind and she took him back to her home state and there was nothing we could do, it was horrible. Since then, the poor kid has been back and forth with grandparents and other random people.
Earlier this year, we found out that he was being left home alone (freshman in HS) without any food for days, no cell phone or land line, and having to make his way to school on his own. His mom was very frustrated with him about some discipline issues at school. We don’t know exactly what she was frustrated about but she said that she was going to send him to military school, except she couldn’t afford it. His grandfather ended up taking him in so now he lives with grandfather and got enrolled in the high school there. It’s a very rural community with nothing to do and very little resources, especially for mental health.
He’s been failing some classes and grandfather has threatened to send him to live with his mom again. I guess they got in a physical altercation at one point and nephew says grandfather beat him but grandfather says he was defending himself… my opinion is that the adult has the responsibility to de escalate or walk away before it gets physical, the kid is 14.
For spring break his mom told him she was taking him to Florida on a last minute trip, except she ended up sending him with a friend of hers (that nephew doesn’t know) and said she’ll catch up with them in a few days. Nephew was really disappointed, he really wanted to spend time with his mom and instead he took a road trip with complete strangers and doesn’t know if his mom will show up.
Grandfather also says it’s none of his business what the mom does… so I don’t think he really has nephew’s best interests in mind given that she could have put him in danger traveling with people nobody knows except her.
We’ve talked with grandfather, but he’s extremely stubborn and “old school” about “discipline.” I’m afraid this child is going from one abusive situation to another. I’ve been told it’s none of my business, but he’s still family and I see a kid who is just looking for consistency and love without conditions or strings attached and desperately needs stability and therapy.
Is there anything at all that we can do or is this a situation we should just stay out of? We’ve told him he can come stay with us as soon as he’s 18, but that’s 4 more years and a lot can happen in that time.
I come from an abusive family as well so this feels too familiar. I’m not sure if I’m overreacting or being hypersensitive… I need objective opinions please.

2023.03.29 21:58 hhs2112 Help in identifying glassware manufacturer and model

Moderators: Items are circa 1963 - please delete if not appropriate
Can anyone help identifying the manufacturer and model of this glassware? The set was given to my parents as a wedding gift in 1963 and the only identifying mark is the "Glas aus Zwiesel" sticker which only narrows it down to the city. I'd also love to know whether anyone has ideas on where to find replacements, There are a few pieces missing and I'm looking to complete the set as a gift for mom. Note: I've tried replacements.com's photo ID tool but wasn't successful.
I'm located in Florida, USA and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! :-)

2023.03.29 21:53 iliekchiekennugets 12 day itinerary check - Tokyo, Kamakura/Enoshima, Lake Kawaguchiko (May 2023)

Hey! I'll be visiting Japan from May 17 - May 28 with 3 other close friends for a high school grad trip. This is my second time visiting Japan (last time was in 2019) so we will be forgoing the typical Golden Route to see some new sights instead. It is however all my friends' first time, but they had no problems focusing on the Kanto region this trip.
Some of our common interests include anime, shrines/temples, nature, shopping, gaming, and trying new foods. One of my friends isn't super big on museums, but if you have any must-see museum recommendations they'll consider it. Overall, our goal is to immerse ourselves in a foreign environment and try to experience Japan more as a local than a tourist. My previous trip to Japan felt rather rushed trying to get from one tourist attraction to another so I hope to avoid that this time around.
All hotels are booked (except for the last night at the capsule hotel). We'll be staying 6 nights in Tokyo and 2 nights in Kamakura and Lake Kawaguchiko each.

May 17 (Arrival + Shinjuku)

May 18 (Shibuya + Harajuku)

May 19 (Odaiba + Akihabara)

May 20 (Yokohama)

May 21 (Asakusa + Tokyo Skytree Area)

May 22 (Kichijoji)

May 23 (Kamakura)

May 24 (Kamakura + Enoshima)

May 25 (Lake Kawaguchiko)

May 26 (Lake Kawaguchiko)

May 27 (Return to Tokyo)

May 28 (Flight back home)

Some questions I have about our itinerary:
That's all! Any general advice/tips would be greatly appreciated :)

Orders of the day: https://docs.legassembly.sk.ca/legdocs/Legislative%20Assembly/Orders/29L3S/230323Orders.pdf
INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS
Nothing particularly notable.
PRESENTING PETITIONS
Daryl Harrison (SaskParty) 10:07:02
Petition against the NDP Liberal federal government infringing on rights, calls for Sask First policies etc.
Meara Conway (NDP)
Petition to increase SAID rates for people with disabilities. Budget only gave them $1 a day. She reads a story about a recipient who is struggling to eat - at that point the SaskParty starts to heckle her, Speaker interjects and told her to hurry up.
u/10:49:40 The Speaker stops to tell Conway that she broke rules during the petition; she has to be brief and not make an argument or finger point, which he says she did by citing the increase in SAID.
Jennifer Bowes (NDP)
Petition to prohibit conversion therapy as a discredited and abusive practice.
Erika Ritchie (NDP)
Petition to protect provincial water supply. Cites 79 precautionary water advisories and 2 boil waters. Cites a SUMA resolution to investigate the impact of agricultural chemicals on municipal water supplies. Also mentions the affects of illegal crop land draining threatening ground water.
STATEMENTS BY MEMBERS
Response to Provincial Budget 10:13:14
Nadine Wilson (Independant, running as Sask United)
Scolds the government for giving themselves a pay raise while people are struggling. She says “Growth that works for no one”. Calls for meaningful tax cuts and rebates, put people before politics.
The NDP gave applause.
SaskParty heckles her; Don McMorris shouted something that I can’t make out, Paul Merriman made a hand gesture like a talking mouth and shouted something about a coalition. *Note he came in late for statements as well just before this clip.
Global Change Required to Meet Water and Sanitation Crisis 10:14:$6
Erika Ritchie (NDP)
Talks about water advisories, some dating back several years. Cites Manitou Beach having toxic blue green algae in their lake, causing financial suffering. Related to UN world sustainable goals.
Observance of Ramadan 10:16:30
Muhammad Fiaz (SaskParty)
Announces Ramadan, talks about muslim religion.
Purple Day Supports Epilepsy Awareness 10:18:04
Vicki Mowatt (NDP)
Announces Purple Day
Z99 Radiothon for Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Gary Grewal (SaskParty)
Talks about Z99 radiothon for neonatal care.
Saskatchewan’s Record Population Growth
Terry Jenson (SaskParty)
Talks about population growth in the province. Takes credit for the work done. Brings up NDP in 2006 when the population was shrinking.
\NOTE also with the lowest retention rate of migrants, and the highest outmigration of the province.*
Responses to Provincial Budget 10:22:33
Ken Francis (SaskParty)
Talks about the budget yesterday and how great it is. Notable, the U of R president was happy and said it was as expected.
\NOTE: They are in talks with University of Regina Faculty Assoc about cuts. Their president was in the Leg Mar 9 saying the exact opposite, and the minister said he was meeting with her after the session.*
QUESTION PERIOD
Provincial Budget 10:24:04
Carla Beck, Trent Wotherspoon, Vikci Mowatt (NDP) vs Scott Moe, Don Morgan, Donna Harpauer, Paul Merriman (SaskParty)
Cites a recent poll that 55% of Saskatchewan people are worse off this year than last, asks how the premier can fail to deliver any relief to struggling families. Has a $2B windfall and only gave tax increases, citing PST increases and the expansion on where it’s charged.
Moe says he is proud of the budget, and it resembles growth “that works for everyone”. (He cites increases in funding, but they’re all near or under inflation, I didn’t fact check any, but at those numbers they can’t be increases). One of the items he is proud of is the $1 a day increase for SAID recipients. He then attacks the NDP for a 9% PST.
\Note: anyone new to the province or to politics, the Grant Devine PC government that was the predecessor to the Saskparty nearly bankrupt the province which ended up in them being voted out, and a few members criminally charged.*
Affordability and Cost of Living
Trent Wotherspoon (NDP) vs Don Morgan, Donna Harpauer (SaskParty)
Wotherspoon says that families and small business are struggling with a once in a generation crisis, and the government is doing nothing but tax and rate hikes. Morgan calls the NDP irresponsible, has no credibility, and is standing with their leaders Jagmeet and Trudeau who are tripling the carbon tax.
Wotherspoon mentions again that he is criticising the federal government, and again calls for PST hike rollbacks. Harpauer claims we are the cheapest province to live in and defends the budget saying that they have increased in many areas where the increase doesn’t meet the cost of inflation.
\Note: Jagmeet and Trudeau are in fact not the bosses of the provincial NDP. The carbon tax rebate increases with the cost.*
Support for Health Care
Vicki Mowatt (NDP) vs Paul Merriman (SaskParty)
Mowatt says that hospitals are near collapse, cites SUN president in regards to the issues, and asks Merriman to address. Merriman cites some dollar figures and the number of workers coming in (the provincial auditor has ruled that these are not enough positions). He passes this all as success. Mowatt calls his answer shameful, nothing to cover family doctors, no new supports for costs, team based care, or problems with the current model, and accuses them of giving up. Merriman says that they are looking at future solutions. Mowatt says that doctors have told her the new doctor compensation doesn’t work, and doctors are leaving the province as a result. Merriman says he rejects the question, while the NDP heckled, I couldn’t make out what they said, he says the NDP is running down health care workers (which is clearly not true) if you listen to the entire exchange.
Funding for Education
Matt Love (NDP) vs Dustin Duncan (SaskParty)
Quotes president of Sask Schoolboard Association who call this budget falling short, investment that is needed, doesn’t even cover their inflationary expenses. Quotes Sask Teachers Federation president.
Duncan cites the numbers in the budget, defends it, compares it to $1.94B more than the NDP earmarked, then accuses the NDP of being against the education workers.
\NOTE: The last NDP budget ended in 2008, and didn’t have P3 schools to pay for - this is a poor comparison, and doesn’t include the per student cost or outcomes of education - all of which are worse.*
Tax Rates and Provincial Budget
Nadine Wilson (Independant) vs Donna Harpauer
Says the province is citing a huge surplus, asks why the province didn’t decrease taxes on the people in the province. Accuses the province of taking credit for the surplus, but it’s from increased taxes and resource prices. She says they are profiting on the plight of the people, and calls for them to even reduce the PST 1%.
Harpauer cites natural resources being high right now and volatile. She then says that she is copying the NDP cut and pasting their talking points. She then says that she doesn’t know what to say, then says it’s an indication of a strong and resilient economy. I don’t understand the position, her two ideas seem to conflict.
\NOTE: Volatile natural resources are the basis of crown corps that bring revenue to the province, like Liquor Board stores for example.*
POINTS OF ORDER
First point of order was the speaker talking about Conway’s petition earlier, and info is in that section.
Jeremy Harrison (SaskParty) vs Nicole Sarauer 10:50:22
Says that Wotherspoon called finance minister as boned-headed. As asks him to stand, withdrawal and apologise. He cites a 2017 Hansard decision.
Sarauer says that he called the tax bone-headed, not the minister. The Speaker will review the record.
ORDERS OF THE DAY
MOTION FOR APPROVAL OF BUDGETARY POLICY (BUDGET DEBATE) 10:52:00
Trent Wotherspoon (NDP)
Wothespoon calls the budget out of touch, a government flush with cash who isn’t helping the challenges that people and business are facing. Goes on to call them disrespectful to the health care sector, doctors, teachers, education.
Cites closed hospitals, long wait times in ERs, people can’t get family doctors, addictions problems.
Attacks that they threw in the towel on equalisation, and calls it a fight that shouldn’t be let down.
Talks about internet access in rural and remote areas asking them to make it a priority and scrap the increasing dividend from Sasktel.
Cites producers being left out of proper compensation rights. Mentions that they delayed despite the NDP and federal government pushing.
Beef herds are in decline and products are being imported while families are losing herds that have generational lineage.
Calls for investigations into meat plants and their anti competitive practices.
Calls for work on the carbon tax to stop the burden on agriculture, and the NDP wants them to exempt grain drying and compensation for being stuarts of the land.
Ends in thanking the people and the workers of the wonderful province, and encourages everyone to work towards a bright future, and being squandered by the government.
Reverts to the previous complaint about the use of boneheaded, and agrees to retract it, and replace with the following: does not approve the budgetary policy of the government because it fails to provide cost-of-living relief for families, fails to make needed investments in health care and education; and further, that the Assembly has lost confidence in the government.
Lori Carr (SaskParty) calls for point of order 11:13:26. Says that Wotherspon referred to the minister of trade and export development the minister of jobs. Wotherspoon stands up, says he’s perplexed but apologises.
Vicki Mowatt (NDP)
Talks about smugness in the house when talking about important issues in our community, and even towards guests that were in the room. She says people are noticing and they need to do better. She cites conversation with people in her riding worried about loosing their homes, and there’s no relief from the province in sight. Talks about hospitals being closed, some on bypass with only a note on the door that it’s closed, a baby being born on the side of the highway. And no real meaningful plan. She says that their constituents are calling the NDP offices as well, so she doesn’t know how they can continue with 32 new taxes and fees.
Premier has worst jobs record in the country, he’s flush with cash from potash and oil prices due to the war, and still no relief. 20% of Sask kids are living in poverty, and they have pet projects like the Sask Marshalls, Sask Revenue Agency and the finance minister fires up the jet to go for lunch.
Cites the health system near collapse, and the auditor has told them they are 1000 workers short, and they call it the most ambitious plan in the country in a display of arrogance.
Calls for health care support. The doctors are being forced to be business owners when they just want to provide care. The nurse practitioners asked for a ‘grow your own’ to let them work in the area that they live in, the government won’t address them. Said that the Regina General being closed was referred to as business as usual, ebbs and flows of the service while ignore solutions being provided by health care providers.
She talks about meeting requests like the one in Delisle where the providers asked them to all come, but the saskparty doesn’t show up and listen. Instead he says he meets people on the way home that he talks to (this is true, it happened several times this month in fact.)
Cites headlines about investment into mental health and addictions while those issues soar in our province without significant targeted investment or speaking to the professionals.
Socials services benefits haven’t increase in 8 years, and now they’re given a dollar a day. The Saskparty heckled her at this point. She cites it’s offloading the costs to municipalities and creating more homelessness and claw back benefits.
Says we have the worst job record in the country, but the Saskparty brags about those numbers. Their economy ranked last with a GDP shrinkage (we were the only province that experienced that, citations in earlier synopsis;) And being made worse by putting PST on construction.
Worst retention of people in the province (citations in previous dates as well, statcan has all this data).
Schools are organising bottle drives to continue, and the increases don’t even meet their previous needs let alone inflation. The Saskparty heckled this.
Fights that the budget doesn’t have targets or timelines.
11:36:54 Speaker rules on ‘boneheaded’ comment, tells Wotherspoon to withdrawal and apologise, then asks the Saskparty if they don’t have anything better to do than points of order.
Ken Frnacis (SaskParty) 11:37:28
Opens up with a joke that the NDP obviously hasn’t taken a tony robbins positivity course latley. Praises the minister of finance. Makes more jokes about the ‘longest serving opposition member’ was feeling very empowered by the crowd (referring to Wotherspoon). Says no wonder the confidence was redlining because of the support of the media. Goes on to make more jokes. Says that the NDP is by extension talking down the people of Saskatchewan, make some bad jokes about socialism and he feels bad for them. Cites eye rolling of the crowd at Wotherspoons tone about crissi after crisis every day (he is referring to a speech about cost of living crisis and hospital closures), and the tone will be better from the Saskparty side. He says that they will get their feedback at the polls, then there is shouting and an interruption.
From the verbatim @ time stamp 11:43:25: This is shocking

And that’s for both sides, too.
I mean, come on. I recognize the Government House Leader. Hon. Mr. J. Harrison: — Just seeking clarification,
Mr. Speaker, on your ruling — I’m not sure if that was a ruling — on whether we can use hand gestures . . .
The Speaker: — Sorry, you’re challenging the Speaker. Do you March 23, 2023 Saskatchewan Hansard 3425 really want to go there? Do you really want to go there? Yeah, you want to go there? Okay. I want the Government House Leader to stand up, withdraw, and apologize.
I recognize the Government House Leader. Hon. Mr. J. Harrison: — I withdraw and apologize if that’s what the Speaker . . .
The Speaker: — Sit down. I recognize the member from Kindersley. d that’s for both sides, too. I mean, come on.
Ken Francis continues.. Attacks them saying it’s all fear and smear just like their federal ndp liberal coalition, a negativity vortex. Says that the statistics show that they’re doing well, and the NDP is saying they will make cuts but they won’t (where’s the liquor board store Ken?).
Goes on to call rural Sask the spinal cord of the provincial economy, excited for the future, agribusiness is working hard to fight the federal government on a new deal. Goes on to cite all the massive 10%+ increases in those areas, oil and gas potash, etc. and how their 9 trade offices (the ones Harper runs globally) are bringing more revenue. He says that teh biggest threat is environmental policies from the federal gov that the NDP are backing (they aren’t… they said that several times in this sitting alone).
Goes on to talk about socialism, protectionism, a bunch of arguments that aren’t even valid. I won’t waste my time synopsis of the rest of this speech, look it up if you care to hear what he says.
Scott Moe (SaskParty) 12:00:15
Talks about paying down deficit, the pandemic cost us $1B he says even after a generational drought which he calls sustainable investments. He claims second lowest debt to gdp in the nation. He praises the budget and keeps calling it sustainable - he doesn’t want to fire nurses and doctors because of resource revenue fluctuations. Goes on to say that he’s bringing in 1000 physicians etc etc.. these are all future state items that I can’t fact check. He relates a lot of these items against 2007 when the NDP was in power. Goes on to justify the pet projects lie the Marshall Service. I stopped recording it all because he isn’t providing data, he’s just making claims without citation of any kind, and most it things they are doing in the future.
Marv Friesen (SaskParty) 12:39:31
Praises the budget for no new taxes. Cites disagreement in the room debating in the treasury board and committee meetings, which he thinks is important to get the best decisions and outcomes. Critical of the NDP calling them tired and out of touch, and says he is tired because he’s in touch with his riding.

2023.03.29 21:35 TomakDunnski How habitable will the planet actually be for survivors post apocalypse (non neuclear war)?

So when I think about it due to human infrastructure of the current world, a post apocalypse world would be extremely dangerous and hard to live in even if the threat (zombies, virus what ever) is no longer present. Survival off the land would obviously be hard but what I mean here is that human infrastructure would throw up some unforeseen dangerous.
Without maintenance and things being in working order there would be all kinds of issues that survivors would need to be aware of. Take petrol stations for example. I'm sure they'll be fine for a time but after corrosion sets in theres a potential for leaks to spring up and make the immediate area dangerous. Sewers could collapse roads and whole cities could go down. Dams break flooding massive areas. Oil refineries in the ocean, the amount of oil leaks into the ocean could be catastrophic for sea life and therefore food for survivors. Gas pipe lines leaking and rupturing, neuclear power stations all would eventually corrode, become unstable and ultimately create huge dangers to survivors. Even something as simple as cars, again all the break fluid, petrol and oils would eventually leak out in the area into the soil making it impossible to grow food.
Even those in areas with less of the infrastructure mentioned would feel the effects of off shore oil refineries, chemical leaks into the ocean, neuclear power stations exploding. An what about the neuclear weapons that do exist... eventually again corrosion sets in and the area become impossible to live in. What are your thoughts on dangers survivors might face?

2023.03.29 21:34 Mossy_Lichenator SGL Post-Apocalypse Profile: Liss/Laurel Agarose

Age: 22 F/M
Likes: environmentalism, breaking curfew, playing pranks, gardening
Dislikes: rules, authority figures, people who "take life too seriously", litterers
My parents were traveling for work when the bombs went off, and I never saw them again. I can only hope they died swiftly, unlike those I saw on the news writhing in agony for what seemed like hours. I was left alone in our family house to fend for myself. I was only two, but with the help of a neighbor, I was able to survive.
I present myself differently on different days, which includes gender presentation, and going by different names. This is because I want to, and no one can stop me! Even the kindly older neighbor who raised me for the first seven years of my life never knew which presentation was the "real me", although it certainly didn't stop her from trying. Please respect this, and don't judge me for something you don't understand!
I got into environmentalism after traveling to a nearby city and seeing how much rubbish was left all over the city, and the terrible effects it had on the local wildlife! How could people be so cruel?! I try my best to stop South Goose Lake from turning into that city, but it is frustrating seeing everyone using single-use plastics and eating canned food. Come on, it's been 20 years of this, you'd think people would stop worrying so much about "radiation" and whatnot.

Another Lake Union landing
Winds were over 30 knots at 2000 feet when we were descending for the approach into Boeing Field, so we set up for the northbound landing in Seattle expecting a windy lake. Turns out it was basically glassy when we got there, so our passengers got a great view of the city on the landing.
Thought everyone would enjoy seeing another one of these.

2023.03.29 21:28 TomakDunnski How habitable will the planet actually be for survivors post apocalypse (non neuclear war)?

It’s easy to assume Limited Run games will be hard to find, but here are some regular retail ones that I think will be hard to find one day.
Lego City Under cover: Big box Toys R Us exclusive.
Super Life of Pixel collectors edition: Lowest print run I know of at just 1,000 units.
Stranded Deep. You don’t see it often. I had to drive pretty far to get mine. Not to many copies on eBay at once either.
Angry Alligator: I look for games often and have only ever seen it for sale twice. I’m pretty sure it’s out of print.
Lumo: I’ve only run across this once.
Demon Throttle: Pretty available at the moment so I could be wrong on this one, but it is one of only 2 physical only games on the Switch and could be daughter after once the e shop closes.
Strike! Ten Pin Bowing: Low release and low interest in a bowling game will probably result in poor sales. Out of the few copies that you can find, less than half come with a cart instead of a download code.
Flipping Death: Raising Star Games game’s often do become hard to find later. This has already gone up in price since release.
Stern Pinball Arcade: Developer ran into licensing issues over some of the pinball tables. The game was pulled from the eshop (it may be back now I didn’t check) and the game was either pulled from stores or not restocked after sales. Another one of those games where stores were lucky to get one copy.
Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator: rare to find a copy in store. Not the kind of game the average person would pick if you weren’t specificity looking for it.
Disney classics WITH Jungle Book: The collection was released without Jungle book at first. The one with Jungle book is harder to find. Few copies on eBay. Don’t often see it in stores, but not impossible to find either.
You never know, but I think it’s fun to speculate. Keep in mind, I’m saying hard to find one day, not necessarily expensive as I don’t think all of these will have the demand necessary to drastically increase the price.
