- According to Rabia, Justin Brown has decided not to subpoena Asia, given her reaction when approached by the PI.
- Attoney Justin Brown files for Post Conviction Relief citing "Ineffective Assistance of Counsel" aka "IAC." This filing contains the first appearance of Asia's letters in the record.
- Syed asks for new trial, claiming trial counsel (Gutierrez), and appellate counsel (Warren Brown) were ineffective:
- 1) Gutierrez failed to establish a timeline disproving State's case

After Syed fired Gutierrez, he was represented by a public defender, Charles Dorsey. Mr. Dorsey filed a Motion for Modification of Sentence. Mr. Syed had just received a sentence of life plus 30 years. Rather than ask the Court to hold that motion in advance and raise it after, up to ten years, which is the common practice when a defendant receives a very long sentence, Mr. Dorsey didn't do that. The court ended up ruling on the Motion for Modification a couple of days after it was filed. And, of course, the motion was denied. So that's our third, ineffective assistance of counsel claim. That he should have handled that differently. - The supplement also included further points Justin Brown wanted to make about Gutierrez's failure to ask for a pleas deal.

Note here that leading up to Serial, Rabia was convinced that Jay did it, and would have pitched the story, with the carrot of exposing Jay.

- In anticipation of meeting with Sarah Koenig, Rabia sets up an office at Security Plaza, across the street from Woodlawn High School.

- Undated: Rabia tells Sarah Koenig that Gutierrez threw the case on purpose, to get more money for the appeal - Despite Gutierrez having suggested that another attorney handle the appeal.
- Adnan receives a letter from Justin Brown saying that a reporter named Sarah Koenig wanted to do an interview. Justin wrote that he didn't think Sarah would waste time on a story if she didn't believe Adnan was innocent. Adnan receives the first letter from Sarah Koenig, a few days later.

Later, Rabia would post the report on her blog, and tell the world the name of the woman who wrote the report.
- Rabia says in her book that this report explained why the detectives focused in on Adnan. She leaves out that the report was not written until Adnan had been in jail for six months.
- Rabia dates the report as August 24, 1999, without mentioning that by then, Adnan had been arrested, indicted, and awaiting trial for months. (Later, Rabia would say that Justin Brown had a copy of the report in the police file, but never showed it to her.

Dragon Ball higher dimensional scaling is a weird subject to talk about. There're plenty of arguments for it, most focusing on Otherworld, I'll be discussing that and a few other argumentations explaining how higher dimensional DBZ doesn't hold up to scrutiny, at least to me.
We'll look at this post by u/ProfectusInfinity on Otherworld to start off. Now firstly, he confuses transcendent & transcendental, the latter is defined as anything that has to do with spiritual/non-physical worlds, it's nothing about higher dimensionality on its own, even mathematically speaking. Otherworld is the afterlife, it would be beyond everyday experience. Using transcendental that statement makes more logical sense. Their second point is discrediting Cipher, claiming he admitted Herms was bettemore reliable than him, but that's not what he's saying. Looking at the full context of the tweet, Cipher is saying Herms has translated nearly everything Daizenshuu related; if you needed something translated, Herms already has the translation for you. Not that he's the best at it, or better than Cipher, this is putting words in his mouth. Cipher doesn't like answering powerscaling questions, unlike Herms, who doesn't care for the most part. Using that tweet to say Herms is better than Cipher feels disingenuous. Herms' translation doesn't correlate to higher dimensionality anyway, as explained earlier, it's a moot point. Infinity shows a tweet of Cipher bringing up 'extra-dimensional' to refute people's claims on Otherworld. Now this brings up the question, why refute Cipher's newest version of the translation for an older version. Especially when both translations have the same message worded slightly differently, 'extra-dimensional' is defined as being outside the physical reality of the universe/outside Einsteinian's space-time.This makes sense as the Otherworld is outside from the Living World.
This pic is sent, but, like with Herms, it says transcendental, not transcend. Infinity proceeds to share multiple interpretations from other translators. After that he gives a TL;DR, concluding all interpretations of Otherworld are equally valid. First one, they say transcendental isn't synonymous with spiritual, but uh, no it is, especially in this context when we're referring to Otherworld, Dragon Ball's version of the afterlife. Remember words are derived by context. Naruto does refer to 'dimension' as a 'time & space axis', but spatial dimensions are scalar quantities and have no dimensional value. Most of these answers Infinity received are vague, first one doesn't give a straight answer, second one goes with 2, but the other options aren't excluded due to the vagueness of said statement, as it is not designed precisely, third one says 'transcend dimensions' correlates to all three, confusing transcendental & transcend, fourth one is reluctant to pick the third interpretation due to how DBZ works. Fifth one brings up transcendental being a good translation and it's better to ask someone who's familiar with Dragon Ball. Now infinity doesn't show this, but there's another comment under Doberman explaining whether it's referring to spiritually or higher dimensionality cannot be construed by the phrase (essentially Doberman's answer but more bluntly). You'd need to go by how Dragon Ball itself describes it. They go with 2, saying there's no spiritually (which is different from saying spiritual, those are two different words), no higher-dimensional phenomenons, and different planets are equally visible from Otherworld. He asked here on Jisho.org, the answer he got was native speakers wouldn't be able to answer this any better than a non-native. Now with all of that, only one, maybe two translations abide by Infinity's conclusion: Otherworld is higher dimensional, other interpretations being supplementary.
Now we move onto this scan here. Infinity gives us three takeaways:

Cindy wrote the handbook with Mike Pondsmith & Paul Sudlow, one of these three (Cindy) was executive producer for DB, DBZ, and GT, but you have to consider which version he had a help in. Cindy managed the English dub for DB, Z & GT, more specifically, Saban & Funimation in-house dub from the 90's-2000's. They helped market for multiple DBZ games in the west, Budokai Tenkaichi 2, Dragon Ball Z: Sagas, Super Dragon Ball Z, etc. Dub-only terms such as 'next dimension' & Home For Infinite Losers are brought up in the rulebook, there's a page about HFIL here. Both of those terms are in the scan Infinity shows in his post. Along with that, there're multiple contradictions & errors in that rulebook, for instance Freeza is described as being 'vaporized' by Goku on Namek. To see all the errors made watch this video, it is long, though. You can't say "Oh, but Toriyama has stated before that he considers his staff and others who work on extended Dragon Ball material to be more knowledgable than him" when the people you're citing are stating things like this.
Toriyama explicitly claims "people more knowledgeable about Dragon Ball". DBZ: Adventure game is not valid as holding it up to any amount of scrutiny shows they don't know more than Toriyama himself. Edit here: 超次元 Doesn't translate to super dimensional 100% of the time, it means transdimensional too, the kanji 超時空 [ちょうじくう] can translate to super-dimensional as well, and given the context on which super-dimensional is used, the kanji is not referring to 'higher dimensional space' unlike what Infinity said. So nothing about higher dimensions.

Dimension Of Swirling Lights
Now this argument is based on Gogeta & Broly's fight where they break reality. The post here is what we'll be looking at. Firstly, infinity sends an interview from the production team in DBS: Broly. Infinity claims the production team's goal was to create super dimensional special effects. Here's the problem with this, the interview linked is blatantly misrepresented. Makino & Yakoo talk about how modeling works, and Yokoo bringing up 'mathematical formulas' is referring to computer graphics/CG; they're talking about algebra & trigonometry n'shit, not 'higher dimensionality'.Makino: First of all, we call it “modeling,” and create a three-dimensional model based on a design with settings and color specifications. It's the work of creating a "form" such as raising the character according to the design, creating a diorama-like background, and making it look okay from any angle. If you just create a "shape", it will end up as if the figure is just there. After doing the work called "setup" to put in, I will finally enter the animation work. The animation work is to bring the set-up model into the actual background, make it act, set up the camera, and finally create a picture like a storyboard. After that, we will add "effects" there. Finally, we will work on "compositing" to combine them. It's like shooting in anime. We use the same software that we used for the shoot, so if you give it to the photographer in that software's file format, they'll be able to do it with compatibility. Our job is to allocate that series of flows to each person in charge.Not once is 'extra-dimensional' uttered throughout that whole interview. Although Super dimensional is actually mentioned once at the beginning, but it says "super-dimensional images with CG" so it's referring to it in a programming sense, specifically remote sensed images. So nothing about higher dimensions. Infinity proceeds to bring up spatial & temporal dimensions, but those don't have dimensional value.
Makino: For the first time in this movie, we got to see character models. Including Mr. Shintani's corrections, I was able to show it in a state of perfection, so I was confident, but it actually received a good evaluation. I was very happy because they were interested and said, "I'd like to see it from a different angle--Lastly, please give a message to the readers who are looking forward to the movie.
Makino: It's a CG of a work that everyone in the world knows, so I'm making it with the feeling that I'm fighting. I hope you can feel that passion while watching the movie. I will make something that will meet everyone's expectations, so please look forward to it. This time, we will fight in various places, so the battle scene will change several times. One of them uses a background that can only be done with CG. Normally, we create a three-dimensional image based on the actual wilderness or the sea, but we don't have a complete original image for that scene. The director gave me an order saying, ``I want you to make something new that takes advantage of the characteristics of CG.'' It's going to be a technical story, but there is software called "Unity" that is good at constantly moving things with a huge amount of information in real time. It's software that's often used in games, but this time we're using it to battle in a place that doesn't actually exist, like a different dimension.Yokoo: If you give the software information about what kind of atmosphere it should have, it will create a CG world that will make you think, "How about something like this?" Seeing that, we are also surprised, "Wow, it's going to be like this!" Different dimensions are expressed in mathematical formulas and converted into 3D. The technique used in other works has been further developed in this work, but I still don't understand it (laughs)

Koyama & Kaioshin realm
These scans are cited to argue Kaioshin realms is 7D because of Koyama, but problem is you can use Koyama's own words to debunk this. He's claimed his statements shouldn't be used and has no authority over Dragon Ball.Jiren 'transcending time'
Jiren was only above Hit's timeskip not time. Hit states "At this rate, I won't have enough to keep him trapped until the end. He's simply too powerful." All Jiren did was overpower Hit and crush the puhttpsrple ball, he didn't transcend anything. Earlier the same fight, Hit's time skip was worked on Jiren. If Jiren really was transcendent over time, Hit's ability would've never worked in any point of the fight. 越える (Koeru) in this context refers to exceeding as in overpowering. I made this album in high school after my project "Blue Gnome Tree," and my first metrosong project, RICECAKE, which was not a very good album. I had a difficult time editing the samples -- destructive editing did not sound good on modern ukulele tracks. So I decided to experiment with sound collage.
The first track I made was called "June 2, 4009," and it was released on The Eternal Dream System. I wanted to create something that was radically different and innovative, that would stand out in the tracklist. And I think it stood out in some ways, certainly. OSCOB, an artist who had been pretty nasty to me about my vaporwave novel autism, had apparently told HKE that it was his favorite track on the compilation. I had been a fan of his music and was particularly influenced by Virtual High Rise, a very immersive concept album.
The cover was originally just an eye on a green field, and then it became a collage involving a school with the eye next to it. HKE didn't like the cover and suggested that I put the eye in the middle of a phone, so that's what I did. It was not released on Dream Catalogue, because during this time, HKE wanted to move away from samples due to copyright issues and takedowns. It is possible that Sustainable Future Village also would have been released on DC, because HKE made an appearance on the record.
So, the album was self-released on my netlabel, Cardboard Future, and simultaneously released through Ailanthus. However, it appears that the owner of that label took it down, and I suspect that this is because of my political views which are well-known at this point.
The album was inspired by Pink Floyd's Darkside of The Moon -- as well as Far Side Virtual and Lift Your Skinny Fists. I tried to use samples that would be highly unexpected -- for example a repeating walkie-talkie sound that creaks in the left channel, and the ending of Rhinoceros) by Eugene Ionesco. Panning and channels were a key feature of Pink Floyd's record as stereo was quite innovative at the time, and I decided to have a lot of elements going off in both ears -- which explains my fascination with ASMR.
I had a very tough time in high school -- school was a source of trauma and loathing for me, so many of the tracks revolve around school. There is a sample of a bus taking off, and it sounded exactly like the bus at my school, so I decided to include that. It honestly makes me feel really uncomfortable and powerless when I listen to it -- puts me back in that time when I was an autistic kid trapped with people who didn't like me. Similarly, people on vaporwave really didn't like me either, and I hated them and hated myself. I just felt really powerless and hungry for attention -- I wanted to act out in some way, as I'd been acting out in school (twice suspended for throwing punches). I didn't know that I have autism until I was like 21, so growing up was a very confusing and humiliating process.
The final track opens with a sample of John Gardner, the American novelist, talking to Stephen Banker about education and democracy. John Gardner was, at the time, a tremendous inspiration to me as an artist, and I always tried to live up to the ideal of a "continuous fictional dream" in my plunderphonics, as limited as my skills were. At the time I was something like a libertarian or classical liberal, but I think the sample instilled some doubts in me about democracy and the trajectory of civilization. The album itself is, like all the old metrosong projects I made, a parody of human progress, techno hype, and futurism. I also used to care a real lot about left-right politics and I wanted to make art that was quintessentially Republican in nature. I thought that there was something very subversive about realizing neoliberal fantasies.
Ultimately, it's an album created by a lonely 17 year-old boy and it's not very good. But it is certainly a fun record and puts the listener in some strange situations. The album apparently influenced HKE's Omnia and 살과 피 by 2047, and I consider that a win.

 | Happy Wednesday!Welcome to another update to TOL. We're nearing closer to beta release every week. Still on course for releasing play-test material and a true beta by this fall! This week has been hectic at my day job, so I haven't been able to post as much fun content on the subreddit or our socials, so this might be a bigger reveal today!T1 Arcane Ability SpoilersOne of the bigger things I've been working on this last week is how I wanted to present abilities. As the tree itself is a good visual tool, it makes writing how things connect a little trickier. Also all combat abilities have the option of upgrades, which also needed to be shown in a simple manner, while still conveying it's an upgrade to a specific ability.So without further ado, here are some Tier 1 Abilities from the Arcane side. (Also, if you guys get sick of Arcane stuff, let me know and I can post more of the Discipline/Holy/Martial stuff as well). Note: Upgrades are currently being reworked for this ability. Also, the primary stat in the beast shape path is CON to help improve maintaining focus. Focus will work similarly to concentration, except a bit more streamlined and easy to remember. Upgrades are in-place for this one. However, they haven't been play-tested, so I didn't want to put them here. The best part (In my opinion) about this layout, is how easy it is to make, edit, and produce abilities, as this is actually done in a simple spreadsheet app like Excel or Google Sheets. Making it very simple for me to copy a layout and just add or change small things per ability, and maintain appropriate spacing thanks to the cell setup. Combat RulesOh Combat. One of the main pillars of any TTRPG, it can be a fun action packed strategy, or a sluggish bore with too many things to track. I'd like to lean more towards the fun strategy aspect, and take a few nods from modern games and rpgs.Action Points Every player, starting at level 1 has 3 Action Points they can use in a turn. Looking at the abilities above, you can see, they generally cost 2 action points to perform. You can also move up to 30-feet or 6 squares using 1 Action Point. A basic attack also costs 2 action points. There are abilities on the skill tree that also give you and your allies more Action Points in a turn, and there are natural Action Point Increases as you level (APIs for short). With this Action Point economy, it gives players a wide berth of freedom, and as they get stronger, they can perform more, or bigger actions that consume more AP for a significant increase. Which leads to another mechanic found in TOL that's lacking in others: Storing Action Points. A player can store a number of Action Points a turn, equal to 1 + Half their level. This uses the AP for the turn, but allows them to get off another attack in the next round, or perform special actions or abilities. For instance, a level 1 player can make an attack, then store 1 AP. On their next turn, They would be able to make 2 basic attacks, or cast an ability and attack, or move 4 times, etc. As for mechanics outside of a players turn, I haven't settled on how I would like to go about it. Right now, I'm leaning towards a player needing to have had excess AP at the end of their turn to make an attack of opportunity, however, this would lead to a slow down in combat if someone isn't tracking their AP during their turns effectively. Aside from basic attacks and abilities, there are also a TON of other things you can do with your Action Points on your turn with clearly defined AP costs, as well as a note for GMs that if you're unsure, 2 AP is a good standard. I've been tracking the number of properties available to buy on daft.ie for over a year now and representing that in a bar chart race style visualisation.
Reason why I started tracking this was to look for increasing numbers of properties coming onto the market to help signal whether we're reaching a top as more sellers come onto the market.
Of course, this could all be total shite but rather than taking a guess I decided to see if I could add some rationale to my guess to signal a temporary peak.
This data-driven visualisation unveils the changing dynamics of property listings across different counties over a span of 372 days, from 31st May, 2022, to Wednesday 7th June (today), 2023. I'll continue to track the data for the foreseeable.
Naturally, Dublin was the county with the most number of properties for sale but other counties seem to fluctuate quite a bit.
I found Fermanagh very interesting in the property numbers for sale. To me, looks like possibly a portfolio was dropped onto the market? Easy to see these when the numbers are so small.
Data points were taken a couple of times a day every day and then averaged.

For some reason the audio (the green bars on the track side bars) isn't activating for my current project that I'm working on, but it does on a different project. It was working fine yesterday and no settings has been changed since but today there's no audio playing and it's honestly so stressful. Does anyone know a solution or know what the problem actually is?
