I am not a teacher, I work in a school and do after school for the kids there. Since it is summer we still do after school, but call it day camp. Last week was the first week and my first week being there. Everything was fine coming into the school, but I could immediately tell who the kids were that would misbehave the most. To hide names I will name them Paul, James, and Sage. These kids are all boys and are in 7th grade. Throughout the week I was trying to grow a bond with them to see if maybe they would listen a little better or not do disrespectful things, on friday we had a balloon toss game and I did not realize that Sage had leftover balloons. Sage, James, and Paul all wanted to play soccer and it was across from where the balloon toss was. I decided to go and watch them because like I said before, I wanted to have a bond with them and maybe me letting them play what they want, theyd like me. I was wrong. Sage went up to me and kept trying to pop the balloon over me and I repeatedly told him to stop to which he kept doing it behind my back, the balloon eventually popped on me and I was soaking wet, it is different if I gave him permission, but I did not want to get wet at all. While telling them "I dont want to get wet" they all looked at me and laughed saying "wet?" as a sexual term James was the one who kept saying that over and over again, no one was answering my radio either so I had to sit there while these kids laugh. By the time this all happened, I was off for the day and left, the supervisor at the time was on lunch so I just left. I know you guys are thinking I shouldve had another staff with me, but a lot called in sick and like I said, I wanted to grow and have them play what they want. I feel humiliated and uncomfortable working there now. I called my other supervisor as well and she told me that it was my fault that I hadnt told my supervisor and now the kids parents will never know, she did not ask me if I was okay or anything of that matter. Sexual harrasment shouldn never happen no matter who does it, and those kids are well aware of what they did.

“This way, please.” The young apprentice flew to the side of the archduke’s palace. A cluster of several three-story mansions was there, surrounded by several well-kept layers of orange bushes. All the buildings were exquisite, even if nowhere as large as the palace itself. These had to be the guest residencies; either that or the staff quarters.
Casting a spell, the mage opened the large double doors. Before entering, though, he landed on the ground, patiently waiting for Dallion and Diroh to pass first. In contrast, Dallion remained an inch from the floor at all times. In the short time he’d been a battle mage, he had developed the habit of avoiding contact with unfamiliar surfaces.
“A tailor team is expecting you in your chamber,” the apprentice explained. “I wasn’t aware that there would be anyone accompanying you, so it will take a short while for the second one to arrive and tend to your novice.”
“Tend to me?” Diroh asked with a predatory smile. “That’s so thoughtful of you…” she looked at the boy, indicating she expected to get a name.
“Calpex,” he quickly said. “Apprentice Calpex Lyan.”
“Yes, how very thoughtful of you, Calpex. I can see why you were made an apprentice.”
The insult passed over the apprentice’s head, who mumbled something in thanks, then quickly flew off, likely to inform the mage and archduke of the guests’ arrival. Wasting no time, the fury closed the door.
“You’ve become vicious,” Dallion said, amused.
“I’ve always been. You just never noticed.” Diroh placed all of Dallion’s floating belongings in the corridor. “I know his type.”
No doubt she did.
“How are you with nobles? The banquet won’t be the same as a hunter’s tavern.”
“So you’re really planning to go?”
The fury made it sound as if she disapproved, but the emanations from her told a completely different story. She was eager to see the inside of an archduke’s palace. The more Dallion looked at her, the more he found the scruffy fury he’d met way back to be gone. Awakening had that effect on people, changing their perspective of the world, infusing them with curiosity, and helping them deal with deep-rooted flaws.
“Going yes,” he said, making his way through the corridor to the first ornate double door. “Staying, no.”
The room was his personal bedroom, as expected. Large and richly decorated, it had thick carpets woven out of gem cloth, massive paintings with such detail that only someone with a perception of forty could truly appreciate, as well as several large tables, chairs, a desk, and an impossibly large bed. Four people were there waiting for him, their appearance combined with the racks of cloth suggested they were the tailor team Calpex had mentioned.
“Greetings, mage.” All of them bowed. Interestingly, all of them were human. Given the city’s size, Dallion would have assumed there to be a gorgon, or at least a dwarf as well. “Will you allow us to take your measurements?”
Without a reply, Dallion floated to a spot in the room, a few steps away from the large window, then raised his arms sideways. Taking the hint, the tailors quickly started taking measurements. There were no conversations the entire time. Everyone knew precisely what they had to do, occasionally asking Dallion to move certain parts of his body so they could get a more accurate measurement.
“Do you have any specific preferences?” the head tailor—an old man well in his sixties—asked.
“Make sure it fits with my robe.”
The man froze. The tailors looked at one another as if Dallion had made a death threat.
“The archduke has… not allowed such an option,” the tailor said after a while. “Only mages are allowed to have robes, and although you are—”
“Fine.” Dallion had no intention of arguing. “Just make it clear that I am one.”
“Of course. And the young lady?”
Dallion was tempted to casually mention that she was a princess, more as a poke to her than anything else. In the end, he wasn’t able to keep himself from doing just that.
“Make sure to illustrate that my novice is a princess.”
Several of the tailers looked at the fury.
“A genuine fury princess,” Dallion added. The wave of anger emanating from Diroh’s calm surface let him know that he had done his job.
You’re getting your sense of humor back, the armadil shield said.
Did I ever lose it? Dallion asked mentally.
Do you really want me to give you an honest answer?
Dallion was just about to respond when the dryad guardian continued without giving him the chance.
Didn’t think so.
Watching the tailors perform their craft was both fascinating and pitiful. Able to see their stats, Dallion knew their level was well in the fifties, along with the skills to match. Each of them individually would have the strength to defeat armies, fight monsters, even take down a chainling if provided with the necessary equipment. Instead, they spent their time making clothes based on the archduke’s whim.
The colors chosen for Dallion combined blue, purple, and cyan, with a little bit of black here and there. The end result was formal, yet simple: a standard set of deep blue gem thread trousers and a vest to match, combined with a long-sleeved cyan shirt. The boots were dark purple, matching with his short cloak. Definitely not a combination he’d consider or even find suitable, but looking at the final result in the mirror, there could be no doubt that it was eye-catching.
By the time Diroh’s “group” arrived, Dallion’s tailors were finishing up the final touches, adding a few decorative elements here and there. It didn’t skip his attention that none of them had examined any of his weapons.
“No changes to my gear?” he asked.
The head tailor shook his head.
“Afraid not,” a new voice said from the far corner of the room.
Looking in the direction, Dallion saw a new person standing there: a tall male figure dressed in an expensive black outfit with a domino mask covering half of his face. Two things were notable about the newcomer: he was someone Dallion had met before, and his hair was platinum blond.
“The archduke prefers that the only weapons at the banquet are his.”
“Overseer.” Dallion wasn’t certain whether he was supposed to nod or not. In the end, he chose not to. “I would have thought that mages are exempt.”
“A logical assumption, thus completely wrong.”
Not to mention absurd, Dallion thought. Spellcasting allowed him to summon his weapons with ease, not to mention cause more devastation than he could with his harpsisword.
“I don’t make the rules. I just make sure they’re enforced.”
The tailors quickly finished with the final touches and left the room, leaving Dallion and the overseer alone. No sooner had they done so than the door vanished, transforming into another part of the wall.
“Champion, then hero, and now mage.” The overseer smiled. “You really have no limit.”
“I’d like to think so.” Dallion kept posing in front of the mirror, checking out the final design of his outfit. It was flawless, even if completely impractical. “Lux,” he said.
The bladebow rose up into the air, then carefully examined him with the kaleidovristo sight. Not finding any lingering echoes or anything else alarming, the weapon then descended onto one of the small tables.
“Any other warnings?” Dallion asked.
“I’m just here to escort you and your “novice.” Nothing more.”
“A-ha.” Dallion wasn’t convinced.
“You’ve been here before, so you know how things work. I’ll be outside when you’re ready.” The door to the room re-emerged. “One final thing. Itella’s also here.” The overseer vanished.
Itella? Dallion thought.
That was one of the archduke’s children, though not a particularly capable one. Dallion had clashed with him twice. Once he defeated him during the Nerosal Festival tournament, and the next right here in front of his father. There was no doubt that the noble held no warm feelings towards Dallion, but it was absurd to think he’d go against a mage.
“I’m not playing your games,” Dallion said, glancing at his weapons. Nothing stopped him from taking a dagger just in case. On the other hand, there was something better he could do.
“Keep an eye on each other,” Dallion folded his own clothes then arranged them on the bed. While doing so he took ruby and placed it on his shoulder. The shardfly’s new illusion powers helped him blend in perfectly, taking on the form of a shoulder button.
Gathering his thoughts one final time, Dallion left the room. To his surprise, Diroh was already there, dressed in a long gown that sparkled as if made of snow. White and cyan combined, creating the appearance of ice and crystals, but that was not all. The tailors had taken the pain to add some jewelry to the ensemble: rings, arm bracelets, as well as a tiara. Dallion also noticed that the fury had added an accessory of her own—a necklace composed of large, flawless pearls.
“Told you to keep her hidden,” he sighed, casting a masking spell on the cloud creature.
“Hey,” Diroh pulled away. “There’s no need for that. The pearls are just fine as they were.”
In all truth, they probably were, but Dallion didn’t want to risk there being a device or otherworlder that could see that the cloud fox wasn’t from this world.
“Put my things in the room, please,” he said.
“Why? I think they’re fine where they are?” Air currents took Dallion’s belongings one by one and stacked them neatly away, as requested.
With a nod of approval, Dallion proceeded to go outside.
The overseer accompanied the pair to the grand stairway leading to the palace. Three pairs of marble statues rose on both sides, an homage to the previous archdukes of the Lanitol family. And just as before, one of them remained half destroyed. The reason, from what Dallion had been told, was that those who didn’t have the power to prevent a civil war did not deserve to remain unpunished. It was interesting to see whether the same principle would be applied to the current archduke’s statue. Most probably not.
“It’s rather nice,” Diroh said, admiring the craftsmanship as they passed.
“It was better last time,” Dallion whispered.
“How many noble banquets have you been to?”
“Just one.”
During his previous visit with March and Eury, crystal shardflies had filled the air, directing the guests to the entrance. After what had happened at the Academy, it was understandable why Archduke Lanitol would prefer to avoid having them. Hopefully, he had only cast them out of the city and not killed them.
A few steps before the entrance, Dallion suddenly stopped.
“Anything the matter?” The overseer looked over his shoulder.
“No,” Dallion lied. “Didn’t expect the nostalgia to hit me.”
In reality, he had found what had been bothering him ever since arriving to the city. The place was too quiet. With the level of his empathy trait, there should have been thousands of guardians eager to have a chat. Some should have remembered him from last time. And yet, he couldn’t hear a single voice: neither creature, plant, nor guardian. If he didn’t know better, he’d almost think he was in the middle of the wilderness.
“The archduke is waiting,” the overseer reminded. “There’ll be more nostalgia inside.”
A dozen yellow-clad servants were present once Dallion entered the palace lobby. Last time, one of them had made sure to snobbishly tell Dallion the rules of proper etiquette. With Dallion being a mage now, all of them bowed without a word, letting him pass.
“Enjoying yourself?” the overseer asked, leading the way.
“A bit,” Dallion replied. “I take it I’m to be in the main hall this time?”
The overseer chuckled.
Dallion was just about to make some snarky comment when a voice sounded in his head.
Careful, an item guardian whispered. They’re out to get you.

As a kid he’d beat on me, drown me, ridicule me, and negate anything I liked to the point I learned to use reverse psychology on him just to be able to watch tv. As he got into his teens he’d yell and go into rages and run away. Our mom was a bit difficult so I’d get frustrated with her too when I hit my teens. But generally, it seems like he wasn’t getting what he needed in some way. And he was taking that out on me. There were moments where I thought we would be friends but his rejection of me always came quickly after.
Even as a little kid, I always assumed he’d grow out of it. But once we were in our 20s, I realized it was never going to stop. He would just put me down and discourage me from anything I was trying to do. And if he had the ability to help me, he would do everything in his power to do the opposite. His ego largely depended on putting me down. Again, there were good moments, but they always left me feeling humiliated when he would reject me again.
Anyway, he got married and had a kid. I had hoped the wife would be like a sister and that I would have a relationship with all of them. This has not been the case. The wife was nasty to me and now they are divorced. I tried to set up regular phone calls and visits with their child, but they would either put them to bed or call me back when my brother was away from the family. And of course calls with him are just cartoonishly hostile.
I only met their child twice and both times my brother just didn’t speak to me at all. We literally spent the weekend together with our family and he barely spoke a word to me.
As the child approaches 10 years old, I keep sending gifts and trying to have a relationship but they literally don’t even know that the gifts are from me. I don’t even know if they have arrived half the time.
I guess as I write this I know that there’s nothing I can do but hope that he gets some support and maybe eventually comes around. I’m just worried when my parents die I won’t have any family at all.
Any success stories with stuff like this?

Ever since I started this sub back in 2016 where we counted down the greatest WWF matches of all time, I have been continuing to add to the list of matches and have included matches from all promotions around the globe. This list now has over 19,000 matches on it...
So, after discussing with some buddies of mine, we've decided that we're going to shuffle the list every Tuesday and watch two matches. We're not totally sure how discord works but were thinking of starting a channel there and even maybe doing a watch-along podcast or something. I'm not totally sure.

2023.06.06 19:25 anaa2018 Is Marriage Supposed to Be This Hard?

tl;dr: I (36f) have been married to H (46m) for about 9 years now and we have 3 little ones. Marriage has been very hard for me and I feel I put in more than I get. I think about divorce often but I feel life as a single mom of 3 will be just as hard as being married and unhappy. Advice?
I feel there are two types of marital advice: one is that it's supposed to be really hard and you're supposed to continue to work on marriage and that there are long period where you may hate each other, but you just have to stick it out. Then there is the other side which says, with the right partner, marriage should be easy and enjoyable, and shouldn't feel like constant "work".
I'm kind of torn. I feel like my marriage has been mostly very hard. Granted, I'm the one who usually brings up the issues - which sometimes makes me feel like I must be the problem, because he seems fine with how things are. For a long time, I didn't feel like a priority in our marriage (I felt like he would rather spend time away, with friends rather than me; no gifts or any spontaneity, not taking me out on dates, etc., not be super helpful with the kids even when I was so overwhelmed). But he's not a bad person and not a bad dad.
He works a lot and comes home at almost the kids' bedtime. He also has been leaving home super early and he's the one who takes the kids to daycare, so I've been trying to get them to sleep earlier. Last night, I was pretty exhausted after a long day at work, grocery shopping, and picking up the kids from school. So while I was putting the 2 littles ones to bed, I asked him if he can put the older one (5 year old) to bed himself and he said ok. It took a while for me to get the two little ones to sleep. When I came out, I saw my older one was in her room with a phone in her hand watching a video while he was in the bathroom. When he came out, he immediately got on his phone. I went to her room and asked her if she had gone to the bathroom, she said "no, daddy brushed my teeth but didn't take me to the bathroom". He came to check what's going on and I told him, "well, she was on the phone and hadn't gone to the bathroom yet". He said "oh yeah, she's not used to sleeping this early so I let her watch something ". I told him that i had asked him to help me put her to sleep because I was tired, and now it's on me again to put her to sleep like every other night. He got so angry, went in the bathroom with her to help her go potty and yelled "get out!" at me. I said "excuse me?" and he locked the door and yelled "get out!" again. I was so shocked. I just kept standing there. My daughter kept calling my name and when I didn't answer, I heard her tell him "well, you yelled at her to get out and now she won't answer me."
That broke my heart. After she got out she looked for me again and he kept telling her to go to sleep. I finally ended up taking her to bed and sleeping next to her. After she slept, he came in the room and tried to talk to me. He said we shouldn't argue in front of her and that we just have different parenting styles. His way of putting her to sleep is to let her watch a show until she gets sleepy (by the way, that's how my MIL puts them to sleep too), but that if I wanted, that's fine, he'll do it my way. He said if I work so hard to be so strict I'm just going to hurt myself. Finally after he was done I told him all this talk and I still haven't heard you apologize for yelling at me to get out. He said "fine I'm sorry but..." and kept bringing excuses about things I've done in the past too.
Last weekend, his marshall arts teacher cancelled and so he had more time on Sunday to spend with us (that's his only day off). So we decided to take the kids to the beach. He wanted to take a tent he bought a while back, but the tent was at his mom's house so we drove there first to get it. When we got to the beach, he was opening it and then realized a part of it was missing and that he had left it at his mom's house. He was upset but I kept telling him it's ok don't worry. But to be honest, I was kind of irritated why he had kept the tent at his mom's. And it reminded me how he has so many of his things there, including his passport and his shaving stuff (he goes there every morning before work and shaves at his sister's bathroom - she's older than him but still lives with their mom).
I know this is long and all over the place. I just don't know what to do. I feel like like if I get a divorce, the kids will be torn between two places (plus, I know he won't do much of the parenting anyway when they're with him because he will just move back in with his mom and she will do everything). But if I stay, the kids will definitely see two unhappy parents and I don't want them to grow up with that trauma that I experienced myself as a child. I can try my best to let things go more and kind of check out of the marriage, but I know the kids will see that too.

The Main Goal:
Well if you’re browsing this subreddit then much like me, you were alone this weekend and I’m sure you’d like to change that as much as me. I won’t lie, I am going through a rough part of my life right now. It’s difficult for me to find the energy for anything at the moment and I’m just really seeking affection in general, anything that will give me a push. I don’t want to be that person who brings everyone down but I could really use someone to talk to right now. I’d really like to find someone who’s similar to me so much to the point that we do everything together and talk about everything while not having to pretend to be interested. I want someone with whom we can mutually spew our emotions onto and have those feelings reciprocated. Not an emotional punching bag, but an emotional teddy bear to hug and cuddle until everything feels better as many times as we need. There’s people who I’m sure have told you the same, they’ll be there no matter how many times you need the support, no matter how many times the insecurities and bad thoughts come back but they don’t mean it. I will be the exception, I’m not so ignorant to think some nice words and tales of relating to you will magically forever heal whatever ails you then get mad when you seek the same support again. Mental ailments are rarely temporary and I don’t care about someone because they’re perfect, caring about someone means being there no matter how many times they need you to be. It doesn’t feel like a chore, it doesn’t get old, and it never will.

A relationship is difficult for me right now, it’s been nearly half a year since I got out of my last relationship and the reasons for it ending are partially responsible for how I’ve been feeling and why it’s so hard for me to seek the comfort I so desperately crave. I will tell you about it but for the sake of not treating the entirety of the internet as my therapist, it’ll be in private. I really need the comfort of intimacy and the warmth of someone who cares. I'm not going to feel better if I just sulk and don’t move on. This is my attempt to get better, I’ll admit I’m not great right now and I don’t expect you to be either. If we can help each other heal, then I’d be more than happy :) A relationship isn’t just being there for when someone’s at their best. Even if a relationship is hard at the moment, I do want a life partner and I don’t want to be alone. Things aren’t going to get easier without you so I don’t want to hesitate. I view my other as an equal, I don’t like categorizing us into specific roles. We take care of each other and treat each other how we like to be treated, whatever that is, it's as simple as that. I don't care if you're "successful" or not, living simple lives with our days filled with love is the ultimate measure of success to me.

On the Surface:
As you can tell I can be rather… stoic but that’s largely due to my current stressors, I truthfully am goofy and fun loving but I just can’t find it in me right now. I want to return to that but without someone to light up my world it’s been difficult to just have fun and enjoy stuff. I’m definitely more introverted, you won’t catch me at any parties or really outside at all. I definitely prefer being home though the occasional outing is not out of the question and one day I’d like to travel to other countries because I think that kind of perspective is important.

The Core of My Being:
I like being a spectator to it all and if we bear witness to humanity burning or its miraculous recovery, I want to watch it with you. I enjoy watching humanity advance, less so when it devolves but I want to watch it to the end nonetheless. I’m both a realist and someone who lives with my head in the clouds dreaming of scenarios or worlds that don’t exist. I’m saying that I enjoy a good narrative and can suspend my disbelief to enjoy something but you won’t catch me refusing vaccines or ignoring blatant facts for the sake of some pseudo science or witch doctor’s remedy. I’m an atheist but I do not rule out existence after death, not because I’m agnostic but because due to the nature of potentially infinite time at some point after how many googol years with a googol amount of 0s after that, something’s bound to replicate your consciousness perfectly at some point. It’s actually a really fascinating topic I like talking about. If infinite time and infinite possibilities exist, does non existence exist? Though that’s an awfully existentially dreadful thought process considering the ramifications of infinite existence and infinite possibilities during said infinite existence. I would say I’m confidently left leaning and I don’t think I could truly get along with anyone right leaning, at least America’s definition of right leaning. Left and right seems to have just become; do people deserve to suffer or do they deserve to live good lives? Being political is not something I expected to become but how can you not be when crimes against human rights are being passed on a daily basis and at the end of the day, everything’s political. Oftentimes I imagine the perfect moment as relaxing with my significant other playing games or cuddling in a cold room under blankets.
I value that special someone above all of the existential thoughts, the bad of the world, the good of the world, they practically become my world. So many worries wash away when I’m with them. I don’t know if that’s the defense mechanism my brain created to not feel bad 24/7 but if it is, I’m currently without it.

Insecurities:
I talk of philosophy and politics here but really I spend most of my time just playing games, watching stuff, and trying to not be sleep deprived. I’m also nowhere near as well spoken, heck sometimes I feel like my speech is broken. I won’t claim to be something I’m not, I sit at home while I complain about the world doing nothing about it wishing I had someone here with me. I’m not noble nor do I really want to be, I have morals I uphold but much like most other hypocrites I acknowledge that my comfortable life is built on the suffering of others without doing anything about it. Why? My sleep problems? Am I depressed? Is that why I have no energy to do anything? Do I just think nothing I could do could help? I can’t nail it down myself, maybe it’s a mix of everything, maybe I’m just a bad person. I have always told myself that if I had wealth I would help people but if I get that kind of wealth will I just become a wealth hoarder who tries to justify my riches as something I earned rather than something given to me through incredibly lucky circumstances? If I do help people is it because I’m a good person or out of guilt? Will I die alone? I feel like I drive everyone away with my clinginess, I get paranoid often and need reassurance often. It’s something I want to work on, something I’ve been trying to work on. Hearing that someone cares about me just never gets old. I value self awareness even if it’s painful.

Socializing:
I’m definitely a socially anxious/awkward mess, especially around strangers. I do feel a large amount of anxiety in public, people can’t tell by looking at my face since I kind of go stone faced in an attempt to block everything out but yeah you’ll notice that if we go out in public. Growing up my pediatrician said I was probably autistic, never got a formal diagnosis so that’s just great. But yeah that explains why I can’t make eye contact with people, I kinda just stare at the ground and avoid their gaze at all costs. A lot of these social struggles go away to a great degree once I know you for a bit but yeah I apologize for how terrible I am at socializing at first. Don’t let my social struggles fool you though, I love cuddling and being close with my person.

Sexuality:
I am a heterosexual male, though I’m not very masculine like at all. I may even be a bit feminine sometimes. Not that I believe any activity or manner of acting belongs to a gender but I don’t know how else to describe it. I’m definitely super affectionate and love it when my partner is too. I am open to dating demi people but I do have a libido so I don't think asexual would work out.

As stated before, I do spend a lot of my time playing video games. It’s been hard lately with me having no energy but I really do want to play more games and have a good time playing them with you! I primarily play on PC though I do have a switch. I’m primarily into platform fighters, roguelikes, open world, survival, and sandbox games. As for single player story games, I enjoy watching them through twitch or youtube but for the most part I don’t play them myself. I’d watch you play them though!

I recently got Kerbal Space Program 2 and ehhh not really worth it right now but hopefully later it will be? I’m super excited for Tears of the Kingdom! In the far off future I’m excited for Rivals of Aether 2 which is a platform fighter releasing in 2024, let me know of your most anticipated releases and I’ll see if I could play them with you!
Also I never got into FPS games but I could totally see myself playing like CoD with you or Escape From Tarkov. Any FPS really, I’m down.
I am a fan of Pokemon but with how things have been lately I don’t know how long that will last. Pixelmon is a common Pokemon mod I play for Minecraft if you want to play that! Also if I say I want to play something with you I mean it but there are often times when no matter how much I want to I'm just drained and can do little more than lay in bed so please don't think I'm making an excuse.

I really enjoy keeping up with the latest advances in pretty much everything, it could be biology, technology, astronomy, anything! I love seeing progression and I love talking about it! Really I could go on and on about what I’m obsessing about that day. I particularly love technology, ask me for my laptop specs I dare you. When I was little I always wanted to be a scientist of any kind but then insomnia and fear of college stuff hit me like a truck aaaand that’s the end of that dream.

I’m not going to go on and on about the tiniest little things when the main ones are covered but I’ll watch pretty much any show with you and anything really. I like random youtube videos that explain some kind of lore or mystery, sometimes mini documentaries too.
As for food I looove sushi and I’m a sucker for fast food. Okay and candy, definitely candy.
I used to play tennis but haven’t really had the opportunity nor friends to play it with and I’m way too socially anxious to seek it out. Also I will say that when we move to something like discord I type waaaay more casually. I’m not going to expect long paragraphs back and forth like we’re writing English papers for each other, I do enjoy long conversations but seriously don’t worry about having to put the utmost effort into every response, I just like making good first impressions I guess.

I’m 5’8 (172cm), 128 pounds (58kg), with curly brown hair and blue eyes. I like keeping my hair long in the winter and cutting it in the summer. I’m pretty slim in general so if you’re looking for someone large, that’s not me. I don’t work out but my work is pretty physical so at least I’m not totally inactive. I don’t have the urge to work out or gain muscle but I do want to maintain my slim figure so if I start losing control of that I’ll work out. I like to keep my face shaved because I don’t think I look good with a beard/mustache so if you’re into those I apologize. I have an average amount of body hair? I’d prefer to be completely shaved but it’s easy to lose motivation with that battle, if you prefer shaved then I’d have no problem complying. Having physical preferences makes me feel shallow, if I could make myself not have them I would but unfortunately that’s now how that works. I don’t care if you’re shorter or taller than me and I don’t care if you weigh more or less than me. All I ask is that you’re slim-average weight. I would never ask for someone to be something I’m not. I don’t care about tattoos or piercings.

Expectations of You:
I am not looking for someone “exciting” or someone to “keep me on my toes” I’m not looking for someone to cater to my every whim or anything like that. I don’t care if you’re “boring” or if you aren’t “successful”. I know it’s a common thing for people to not want a “boring” relationship and to seek something argumentative or something with constant challenges but I just want to be with you. During the exciting times, the boring times, and everything in-between, all of it will be great with you! Maybe we do argue sometimes or maybe there will be challenges but that will never be something I purposefully seek out and I don’t want that to be something you seek out either. I will not play tricks on you and I will not play mind games, I expect the same from you. We all have personal measures of success we may or may not have lived up to but what I care about most is our commitment to each other. If we have each other we can get through tough times, near the ends of our lives I want us to look back and feel that this life together was worth more than anything. That’s not saying I want us to be haphazard, I don’t want us to make poor decisions for the sake of yolo and I want us to always be rational, especially with each other. I want you to be someone I can trust to make decisions and weigh the options with a level head, I’ll try my best to live up to the same for you. Most of all I want empathy, understanding, someone to feel the utmost comfort and trust in.

Living Situation:
Currently my life is pretty relaxed, I work 3 times a week as a night shift stocker. I currently live in a 2 bedroom apartment with my roommate but we’re looking to move into someplace larger by the end of the year if everything works out. The internet is weirdly great for Ohio too like I have fiber and later this year we’re supposed to be getting dedicated fiber so that’s neat. I’m not attached to Ohio so the ultimate goal living location wise is probably moving to a country that won’t send you into a lifetime of dealing with the repercussions from one medical emergency.

Hello! I’m an incoming Interior Design student this year and I’d just like to ask your thoughts on my decision. I’m really having a career crisis because of “practicality”.
So ever since I was young, I found myself liking desingning. I’ve watched Tiny House Nation nonstop on the FYI channel as a kid which honed my interest in designing houses. I’ve always liked going to home depots than grocery shopping because I always imagined building my dream house. Since then, I’ve accustomed myself into choosing Architecture as my future course/career.
My parents approved it because ayun nga, malaki naman sweldo and such. And in terms of practicality, maganda ang Architecture. All these years whenever I was asked on what course to take, I would always answer “Architecture”. And I lived up to that answer until college applications season.
The problem is, I’m now at a point wherein I have to choose my career. My results for college applications came and I wasn’t accepted into any architecture course. In my current school though, if I choose to continue college here, I would have the freedom to choose any course I’d like to take; and that includes both Architecture and Interior Design.
As I’m battling my mind, I now felt like I was just saying I wanted Architecture because it is a “practical career path”. Typical more job opportunities and shi. I felt like It’s just my “default course”. I do feel na I had tons of crisis during college applications season kasi I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do most. And now, I feel like I don’t have the enough passion to pursue Architecture anymore. And I’m also afraid of the reputation Architecture in my school (in terms of ayun maraming irregular which was normalized)
I chose interior design in hopes of still pursuing designing. I’m still interested in designing, I wasn’t just sure if I wanted interior more than exterior. But what I’m afraid of this is I feel like everyone around me was expecting I’ll choose architecture. And I’m afraid that they’ll think I’m choosing a “less practical” course. It’s really hard considering the economic state of the country…
But with all that said, I’d like to ask your thoughts about this? Like I want to hear where do you think I could excel more? Would it still be practical to choose Interior Design? Or would it still be in demand in the long run? What is career path like in the PH? Huhu if there’s anyone who could share stories about PH interior designers, I would gladly want to see it. 2023.06.06 19:21 Cesa-BUTTERFLY12 I think maybe my MIL is a JNMIL...?

I found out a lot of info about her in the last 24hrs. Mainly 2 things that are REALLY bugging me.
1) she asked my BIL why he's not friends with me on Facebook because I post updates about my baby on there every day. He got pissed that she was over-involving herself and told her it's not of her business why we're not added on Facebook (we aren't added on Facebook because of political interest differences, and he doesn't use Facebook that often anyways). I feel like she went behind my back to involve herself in my friendship with BIL without asking me what I thought about not adding him.
He told me this when I was asking him advice over the 2nd thing.
2) her husband relapsed on alcohol. She told my SIL, and made my SIL promise not to tell me or DH because "not everyone in the family needs to know". My issue with this? We have left baby alone with him a few times to watch her til MIL gets home. From what I know of timing he didn't drink while caring for her, but one of my DH rules is if he relapses he can't have Baby by himself.
SIL told me anyways. She tried to hide it and just said "you need to talk to Mom about the rules you and DH have again" and "how his Mom's husband doing? Have you seen him lately?" she kept trying to avoid my questions but when I asked if there was a relapse she confirmed it cause she couldn't directly lie to me.
I don't know what to do. I talked to BIL to get his advice, cause when I told DH what happened he got overwhelmed cause he works with and gives rides to his Mom's husband. BIL told me these and I'm starting to question if my MIL is as supportive and open as I thought.
Part of me wonders if I'm just sleep deprived and stressed and overreacting. DH and I talked later and agreed that there needs to be consequences, so we decided MIL's husband can't have 1 on 1 time with baby even if his relapse was off-duty and just 1 time.
I feel more mad at my MIL for trying to hide it from me than I am with him relapsing. I saw it coming because he's been having a rough time, and if my MIL had told me herself I'd reconsider being so harsh and punishing...
Overall: I feel like she's controlling information I do and don't have, she's controlling who and how people access me, and she's not letting me make decisions for myself in the relationships I have in her family. Taking my ability to interact the way I need to with everyone else. I feel she's putting herself as the Only One who gets to know everything going on.
Am I overreacting? Am I directing my frustration to the wrong place, or even have a right to be frustrated at all? Could this just be a result of post partum hormones making me see enemies where there are none?

When I am online, I will often use dominion as the documentary for showing how horrific the industry is. Recently I recommended it to a highschooler( idk their age, they just mentioned they were in high school so anywhere from 14-18). So yeah, title. What age is it going to be not too traumatizing for people to get educated on what the animals are going through? Is it okay for me to recommend it to kids at all? Even teenagers? If they are too young to watch the documentary, are they not more so too young to contribute to these industries? If its not ok for them to watch it, why is it ok for animals to go through the violence produced by their ignorance? I want y'alls perspective and thoughs on this.

I’ve flown quite a while on VATSIM in the USA and gotten used to the system, how to ask for information, and unicom/uncontrolled etiquette. Yesterday, I was attempting to expand my skills by flying in Ireland from Weston (west southwest of Dublin).
There was no ATC up at the time, so I used unicom and reported my taxi and then intended departure. I was leaving behind another aircraft that had just finished it’s runup and was starting it’s departure. I was about to announce lining up for departure on runway 07 when another aircraft reported short final on 07. So I waited some more. I was in MSFS, with multiplayer off, only vatsim traffic visible, no AI traffic. I could see the previous aircraft depart, but try as I might, I could not see the inbound aircraft.
Ok, fair enough, sometimes it’s hard to spot traffic. So I waited. And waited. I thought I heard a call out for taxiing via alpha, but that could have been another airport. Surely he must have landed after 10 minutes? Ok, so I figure I missed him. I announce lining up for 07, then he pops on and says “negative, short final 07”… I apologize and clear the runway immediately over at Kilo and wait. Nothing. Can’t see him.
I then tried two things: 1) I enabled ADS traffic on the G430 in the DA20, nothing. 2) opened vatspy, nothing.
Then some weird stuff after another 10 minutes. (now it’s been 20 minutes since the initial announcement that the person is on “short final” and no landing, no taxi no other comms). Someone was sitting at the end of 07. No comms for taxi, just sitting there. How did they get there? As I watched, they just took off, no comms. I checked VATSPY again. I saw a user who didn’t appear to have a full name, but instead was some kind of nickname, which I thought was against VATSIM TOS. I don’t know if the mystery aircraft was him, or someone else.
At this point, I was exhausted. I didn’t know if I was violating Irish procedures or there was an issue with vPilot, or vatspy… he didn’t show on simaware either, but who knows. I asked about it elsewhere and people said if in doubt ask for a position report… there were some other planes popping in and out on the ramp.
in the US, “short final” means under 1nm, I suppose it could have been 10 minutes at 70kts, but in the USA I’ve never had trouble spotting the traffic that close and that slow. Even if I miss the traffic landing, I hear the clear of runway call and taxiing to the ramp.
So I’d like to believe this was just an honest mistake and in the confusion I didn’t know what was going on. But with so many weird things happening in a short span, I have to ask: is griefing on vatsim a thing?
I’m always going to treat callouts as though the aircraft is there and yield accordingly, but the plane never showing up in 20 minutes, no taxi back, mysterious nordo spawning on the runway… it looked like a free-for-all, and to be completely honest, ruined this attempt.
Has this ever happened before? Are there kinds of network errors that can show some VATSIM users but not others? Should I use a specific VATSIM server when in Ireland? I think I happened to be on US West, but perhaps some traffic isn’t prioritized the same — I heard the voice, but couldn’t see any track.

For me the biggest strengths of the game were the characters, the writing, the art style, the world building, the open ended exploration and relatively nonlinear structure, the mystery, the humor, etc. I don't normally play RPG games, I'm more into gameplay focused games such as souls games, metroidvanias, platformers, hack and slash, etc., so I was slightly ADHD sometimes and admittedly didn't fully take in everything this game had to say. I also played blind and probably missed a lot of side content.
Anyway, I'm left feeling like I don't really understand the political commentary this game is trying to say. I thought the fascists and right wing characters were portrayed in various different ways, with some being pathetic and angry people living in the past and ranting about "the good old days", others being just straight up 60 IQ racist smooth brains. There was also Measurehead who was like this caricature of pseudo intellectual alt right racists one might find on 4chan or something.
The ultraliberals as far as I can tell were basically just corporatists, and the moralists (centrists?) were more or less just the status quo and the current oppressive power structure? I'm not really sure I got much beyond that. I played the game mostly as an apolitical detective who just focused on solving the mystery without getting involved in politics, and the game definitely did make fun of me a bit for playing that way.
As for the leftists and communists, it seemed like the game portrayed them as generally having good intentions, but they were plagued by corruption (especially the union) and violence. There also seemed to be a bit of variety here, like you had Manana who was the lazy guy who didn't want to work or do anything, Evarart who was the the corrupt "party" leader, and the deserter who was the violent and bitter revolutionary. I'm not sure exactly what the Hardie boys are supposed to represent, I guess they are just kind of asshole union goons who deep down have a heart of gold?
The game also had critiques against capitalism, such as how the doomed commercial district where the "curse" was ultimately just these businesses dying due to market forces. The game also kind of built in gameplay mechanics that could possibly be described as anti capitalist, for example if you don't collect enough money to pay for your room on day 2, you get a game over. In general the game has you playing as a vagrant who is barely scraping by.
I'm struggling to put all this together, and I feel like I'm missing something here. What is the core message that ties it all together? I know the developers themselves are leftists, but I'm not exactly sure what their underlying commentary is here? Fascists and right wingers suck, they are hateful, and have incoherent ideas. Corportists and neoliberals suck and just want to preserve the status quo that causes so much suffering. Capitalism sucks and causes a lot of people to suffer. Communists and leftists have good intentions but they have corrupt leadership and have violent segments within them.
That's about all I got. What am I missing? Am I misinterpreting anything?
