Hello everyone! I wanted to ask for some opinions on my last visit to my psychiatrist. (I am 25 years old if that helps)
I started seeing him a few months ago. After the first visit he send me to get assesed if I had any sort of personality disorder. The diagnosis I got was ADHD. I did a bit of research on my own and some symptomes fit pretty well and some not at all.
Now the last time I went to this psychiatrist he told me that I could not have ADHD because I managed to finish university. What should I think about this? I am confused about this whole situation.

I'm a huge fan of racing, and have been for years, but there's one thing I enjoy just as much and that's bingeing on the old XFM shows, so I couldn't believe my luck when I bumped into Steve Merchant at the Isle of Man TT.
I'm an average height guy, so he stuck out like a sore thumb when I saw him in the crowd, and I made my way over to him. Now for anyone who's met a celeb that you admire or enjoy their work, you'll know you get a bit nervous, but I thought, why not. I built up the courage to approach him and ask 'Are you Steve Merchant?' He replied 'Yeah, what can I do for you?"
We got to chatting about the race, and I started asking about the old XFM shows, which was interspersed with the deafening roar of the race. Anyway, the crowd starts taking photos, and it causes the bike to crash. Which is strange, because the little fella had a lot of grippage on the bike.
Ambulance comes screeching past and all the paramedics rush over, but his teammates say 'Leave the helmet on' they weren't telling the paramedics how to do their job, but the little fella didn't want the fame.
Rumours start going around about the racer. His pit team, when fixing his bike went to replace his wheel nuts and the pit guy thought 'These are light' turns out they were nuts, the foodage type nuts. Also before the race a lot more banana's were being eaten. Also, it had been said that and when he won the last race, although he was only three foot, the trophy was nine feet in the air. He'd also been mistaken for Bob Hoskins and apparently he'd had a fight with a lady on a plane about the lack of snacks available (They offered her a sandwich, but that was quite a big meal)
Anyway, few days later a couple report a chimp in a neckbrace at the zoo.
So, yeah, although I got the chance to meet Steve and talk about his career in comedy the whole thing was overshadowed by a scary accident.

My Partner has had a bug collection from when he was a kid, and its been housed in plastic containers thats have all broken. I’m working with them in secret to correctly ID them all and then have them professionally framed as a gift.
In research it looks like the Nat Geo Real Life Bugs collection but a cant find any ID info online. So going off some labels and image searches.
I’ve compiled it into a database, with a few unidentified insects.
I would like to know if i can share it here and have some experts give it a look over and make sure the pictures match the names etc.

My(17m) twin sister(17f) is the president of a club at our high school. She and some other club officers were holding a pie-in-the-face fundraiser at our high school since it’s the last week of school. All the officers including my sister were wearing one of those like wraps you put on your hair(like cooking but a plastic wrap on the head). I thought it would be funny if I removed my sister’s hair wrap after I pied her in the face to also smear whipped cream on her hair.
That’s exactly what I did that and everybody around us laughed but I could tell my sister was upset. Apparently she didn’t come to class next period since she was trying to get all of the whipped cream(granted I smeared a ton of it on her hair lol) out of her hair. Now at home she’s really mad at me and she’s not talking to me. AITA?

Looking for a short film I saw a long time ago on YouTube that may have been taken down, but I'm not 100% sure. I discovered it around the early to mid 2010s, but it's possible it's older than that. It had a strange, long-ish single-word name (like 3-4 syllables) that was a made up word or two words put together. The theme seemed to be disassembly of form or something like that, and the name of the film alluded to that theme in some way.
The film is comprised of a few different segments, each of them against a black backdrop. The segments are separated by title cards (I think), and there were like 3-4 of them.
One of the segments has fish/jellyfish looking creatures (puppets, I think?) that are floating around. They are then eaten by larger versions of these creatures and the larger ones are eaten by even larger ones, etc.
The second section I remember is two people-shaped creatures facing away from each other. They were either CG or in heavily colored makeup with strings attached to them (similar to that Light it Up video by method studios). They take turns pushing and pulling each other, and as they do this they start to change forms. I think one gets progressively more misshapen and one becomes more defined, but I could be misremembering this.
I have been desperately trying to find this film, so any help is very appreciated!

Recently, especially during the last 10 days, I have been struggling to breathe properly. Whatever technique I use, belly breathing, deep breathing, other breath related exercises, they don’t seem to help. It all started to occur only occasionally, especially at night when trying to fall asleep. I would either have the urge to sigh or take a deep breath, and then halfway in that breath started feeling blocked, like it didn’t fully go through. The longer this sensation persists, the more nervous I get and the more I try to actively breathe in deeply, probably resulting in hyperventilation? Idk. I came across the hyperventilation syndrome by googling. Idk if it’s that or something else, but it’s starting to drive me nuts. I do suffer from allergies (have been since almost 10 years), but never had asthma. Neither do I have all the asthma related symptoms (especially the coughing, that’s missing entirely). That will be tested for in a couple of weeks though, just to be sure. Other than that, blood stats were fine, heart was fine a year ago, working out and exercising has always been fine. My biggest problem seems to be that my body is signaling me to breathe in deeply (through the mouth mostly, just as when you do sigh normally), before that breath is actually needed, so it won’t go through. The past days I have spent repeatedly having to suppress the urge to breathe in deeply too early, knowing it’s probably not going to work. Ever since, I can’t really stop thinking about my breathing anymore (except for when i’m very, very focused) and breathe manually a lot of the time, trying to do so trough my nose (which works fine most of the time). It’s very likely that I have depression and I also experience a lot of anxiety. I have had panic attacks before, I don’t know if that’s relevant, but according to what I know, most hyperventilation is a result of anxiety. Maybe somebody has experienced something similar (especially the blocked sensation while breathing in after feeling the urge to do so) and can give me any advice. Or tell me how to reset my breathing, or not focus on it as much anymore. It’s really starting to take a toll on my mental health. Thanks to anybody that took their time and read through all this. Hoping for some advice!

I found out about this sub a few weeks ago, I started looking for J2 and applying right away, the first two weeks got nothing but scams, there was a part of me that thought I would never find a reasonable/legit option, but for some odd reason, I started getting real calls last week, I ended up with three verbal offers, and actually had the privilege to pick which one was best. I considered accepting two, but since I’ve never done this before, I decided to just take one more job for now. I start next week, cannot wait for that second paycheck! Or am I reading too much into it? The colors, the characters, the struggle of having a secret and “lying” to people you care about. The key to the bisexuality for me is all the spider people eventually have the similar events happen to them. All bisexuals are different but we all share that awakening moment when we realize the attraction to multiple genders. This is unique to the LGBTQ community I feel. It brings us together as bisexuals (or spider people). But also can isolate us from the rest.

Ancestry says we share 10% DNA, 724cM across 27 segments. MyHeritage thinks they're a half-aunt, Ancestry shows they're a maternal-maternal match, and Facebook shows they're friends with some of my relatives. DNAPainter suggests Great-Aunt. They're not active on Ancestry, so I doubt they'd give me an answer, and I don't expect a dramatic revelation anyway.
My maternal-maternal side matches pretty high with me (for example my great-aunt has nearly 1,000cM shared), probably due to the fact they are descendants of a small Mennonite community with large amounts of in-marriage. (One generation of my family, all women married into the SAME LAST NAME.) So I'm thinking her cM might be high for what her actual relationship to me is. She has no public tree and uses her married name, so I don't know where she fits. She's probably between my mother's and grandmother's ages (she's probably 50s).
Any idea where someone with a family background of not-quite-incest and 724cM would fit in relation to me?

My girlfriend and I have been together for about 2 years now. Her dog is a 5 year old, 80ish pound male hunting breed dog (it’s a non AKC recognized breed that I can’t remember the name of).
For the first month or two, everything was going normal. Incidents started happening as soon as I started spending the night at her place. We’ve stopped letting him in the bedroom before me at this point, but before it was like a 50/50 chance he would snarl/charge/bite me when we’d try to go to bed. Now the most common occurrence is he’ll get aggressive towards me when my gf isn’t feeling well (which unfortunately is pretty often), but also will randomly happen when I open a door too quickly or some other reason I can’t explain. At this point, there’s probably about two incidents per week.
My gf hired a dog trainer a few weeks ago, and they worked with him and gave her a training collar (not a shock collar, but one to associate a “tingle” with a command). This has helped with his obedience a good bit, but not really with his aggression, as by the time either of us can react and grab his remote, he’s already started going after me.
I’m at a loss at this point. I’ve been around and loved dogs all my childhood (mostly male and female German shepherds) and currently have a female border collie. I’ve never had to deal with aggression, so this a very foreign topic to me. Any advice on how we can try to fix this behavior?

I’m in between jobs right now and I had two interviews recently. Both of them said “we will see we have many applicants/interviews”. I explain that I’m very motivated, I’ve done this line of work a lot, I almost have a degree, and I’m a father, and it still seems they want to play bachelor for a while. These jobs were Panera and Ollie’s Supermarket both paying between 10-12 for a cashier. My last job I made 15, and I do have a couple disabilities (Asperger’s, ADHD, MDD, and PTSD) but I work despite of them and try my best. I’ve been institutionalized before for stress financially and emotionally, taking on to many classes and hours so I’m applying for disability and had to cut back a bit. Despite this I want a chance to make something, anything and these $12 dollars and hours 20 hours a week jobs want to play the bachelor. If you wanna be that picky then pay higher and give hours, they’re losing money by trying to look for the Buddha at a grocery store or fast food chain. I’m just so fed up with this society.

It’s been 3 months since we broke up and she still doesn’t want to exchange our things, so I’m going to give her stuff to a mutual friend to pass on to her. I’m not really stressing about my stuff, she can honestly keep it if she wants, but I have to get rid of her stuff so I stop waiting for her to tell me she’s ready.
I’m torn on whether I should include a letter in the box. I’ve already written it (Ive written probably 20+ letters since we broken up never actually intending to send). It doesn’t talk about our relationship but I apologize for something regretful I did when she broke up with me, explain why I went against her wishes to keep following each other on Instagram (I blocked her), and wish her joy and love for the rest of her life.
I know my emotions are not her problem and I don’t want to unnecessarily bring up old pain for her. She already said she forgave me for what I did the same day but I hate that our last real communication was so ugly and I selfishly want her to know I deeply regret it. But that regret and guilt is not her responsibility, so it’s probably best to let it be. I guess I just need someone to tell me I’m being selfish and should just leave her alone and give her her stuff without trying to force it to be communication when she clearly doesn’t want to talk to me.

I was inspired to make this thread after researching my local transit organization: the RTA (not even an original name), which oversees three separate transit agencies spanning four counties in Metro Detroit.
Well, "oversees" is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that previous sentence, it's basically a do-nothing umbrella organization slapped onto the top of all the transit services here.
It's so bad because the RTA has no power to raise taxes for transit outside of property taxes (which people hate), the 9 member board is appointed rather than elected, it requires a supermajority vote to plan commuter rail and a unanimous vote to plan any other type of rail (like light rail, people movers, or subways which would probably passed if the RTA's ballot measure included more of it way back in 2016).
So, what other terrible agencies are out there? I'm curious to know if the RTA is just uniquely terrible or not.
